Review: Tiny 4W CB Radio - FM/AM UK and CEPT (possibly more as listed as country) - You can only use 40 channel at a time as to change band requires power off and select. For money a great little radio. I only do reviews if something really good or really bad so the fact they I wrote this should tell you I was impressed. If you need SSB then this is not for you but for UK 40 its fine and normal features are there just in menu format.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do you change between UK & the Euro freq's please?**
A: Thank you for your interest in this product Tigger 😊
To change between UK and Euro frequencies on the PNI Escort HP 6500, you need to follow these steps:
• Press and hold the [7] - A/F key while turning on the radio
• Press the up/down keys to select the desired standard
• Close and restart the radio. Immediately after turning on, the current standard will be displayed
for a second.
You can find more information about this feature on page 5 of the user manual. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a nice day! 😊

**Q: Is it normal for radio to get hot when using ?**
A: Hello, thank you for your question. The PNI Escort HP 6500 CB radio is designed to operate at a maximum power of 4W, which is the legal limit for CB radios in most countries. However, it is normal for the radio to get warm or even hot when you use it.
I recommend that you do not keep the CB station in the sun, for example on the dashboard of the car. Make sure there is enough ventilation around the radio.

**Q: Do i need aerial or antenna to use cb?**
A: Yes a mobile i.e magmount or home base antenna and a swr meter so you can tune the antenna

**Q: Can thus be used in Britain**
A: yes you can, its multi standard and includes the uk40

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Low cost, decent performance.
*by D***E on 31 January 2025*

Very cheap. It's small, quite sensitve and the controls/mic all work well. The power is selectable by link, although then not UK legal. Only grump is the squelch is not self-adjusting as hinted-at, its fixed levels. It still works fine and isn't an issue if you have a decent base antenna. I have a Sirio 1/2 wave at 8m high, so no problemo. Mobile, maybe slightly annoying but for the very low price, an otherwise good unit, don't worry.
