Shoulder Dolly Moving Straps
If you use "Shoulder Dolly Moving Straps" correctly, meaning two people working carefully together, constantly controlling the weight and overall balance of heavy / bulky objects (particularly appliances and furniture), then you will quickly learn the value of this product. My son and a friend used the Shoulder Dolly Straps to safely move a smaller "Spinnet" Piano. Keep in mind whatever that object actually weighs, you and a partner would be effectively splitting that total weight, sharing the total load. The beauty of the product is if you are standing straight, NOT in a hurry, and take your time, you can nicely manage moving very heavy, truly bulky items. The weight is also distributed evenly over both partners shoulders. It is a very good means for lifting. It minimizes stress in your lower back by largely distributing the shared, lifted total weight throughout most of your body. And if you use this device properly, you'll be lifting with your legs (upper thighs - "quads") more than your back, especially the lower back. My recommendation is "practice" lifting a lighter object first...say 50 lbs, and learn how best to adjust the Straps. Keep the back straight as best you can, use your arms to maintain lateral (left to right) balance and carefully walk. Once you understand the basics of the Shoulder Dolly, you can "graduate" to heavier objects...even much heavier objects. The key is working together, NOT being in a hurry, and carefully safely moving truly cumbersome appliances and large furniture. For excessively heavy objects, take breaks. Remember if you are moving a Spinnet or perhaps even an Upright Piano, that's impossible for one person. Respect what you are actually doing and remain on task. Don't "compete". Work as an unhurried unit instead...an unhurried team! I would advise abiding by the actual product limits and not an ounce more. If used properly, the Shoulder Dolly is quite durable. I would caution to lift LESS weight when moving items up and down stairs. In time, meaning three or more Shoulder Dolly "lifting opportunities", you and your partner will learn precisely how to use this (quietly amazing) product, particularly how to make better initial adjustments in lengthening or shortening the Straps, coupled with the best (meaning standing straight and as vertically as possible) while still allowing room for your steps. Learning how to fully optimize...how to take full advantage of this product will take time and repetition. With patience and basic attention to the details, you will likely be amazed at what two people can reasonably / safely lift. Generally speaking, the larger and more physically fit the lifting partners are, the greater the safe lifting capacity in using this Shoulder Dolly device. Being patient, communicating well, recognizing simple adjustments and NOT being in a hurry; those qualities will serve ANY lifting partner team extremely well; whether "big and burly" or "trim and petite". Be on the receiving end of the true benefits of this product by doing as I have advised. Consider this the "Cliffnotes Version" of the actual Shoulder Dolly instructions. Me, I will be using my Shoulder Dolly for years to come.

The key to successfully moving large items
My husband was skeptical at best when I ordered, but quickly changed his mind. I ordered these last minute, and we ended up loading our entire 2 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor and unloading into our 4 story house in the same day. The straps are largely intuitive and easy to learn on the fly, and were instrumental to a successful move. Stairs were a little bit tricky at first, but once we got the hang of it, the straps allow you to hold onto the item with one hand and a railing with another. Ultimately, the straps help to distribute weight through your legs, shoulders, and back. This is a huge advantage over lifting with just your arms and back. Neither of us we're sore the next day, which was a huge surprise. If you're on the fence, give them a try! I was most anxious about moving our large and heavy couch, but it ended up being no problem! I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!

Exceeded expectations by far
one of the most useful purchases i ever made. Seriously. used it may be 5 times since purchased about a year ago but with great success. Once it we used it (average middle age couple) to lift a 150lb washing machine to a third floor w/o any even smallest strain, another time we had to move out of our property a big and heavy wooden box and few more examples. I even joke that we can start a moving company with this thing.

Led to some comical couple moments but ultimately did work
I really wish I had pictures of my 4'10" wife and my 5'10" self carrying our 8' Ikea sleeper couch through our basement or our 180lb 7' long TV console (in a box) around our house and down our steep basement hatchway stairs but we were too busy trying not to destroy our house to get our kids to snap photos. The couchWe needed to move the couch roughly 40' through a 36" door in our basement. Being 8' long it stretched the limit of the Shoulder Dolly for us (even though it said it could handle 9'+). The tricky part was that we had to tilt the couch on its side to made it through the door so the weight was not balanced. We found after trial and error that we had to align the strap off center to compensate for the weight imbalance. My wife found moving the couch difficult even with the strap although we ultimately did it. We definitely couldn't have moved it with our hands alone for how unwieldy it was.The TV consoleThis box was roughly 7' long and weighed 180lbs. This object was a much better fit for the Shoulder Dolly being a rectangle. We had to move it through our front door, around our house and down a very steep set of basement stairs before moving it into place. This time we much more easily lifted the object, taking some lessons we learned from the last step. The biggest mistake we made was having me go first. I read that when traversing stairs the taller person should go first but I believe that is only true going up stairs. Going down it seems the opposite is true so that the taller person can get the object over the stairs. When going down both the front steps and the basement by me going first, my much shorter wife couldn't raise it high enough even when the strap was fully tight and I nearly pulled my back out trying to compensate. When we got to the basement bottom, it worked much better. Still, same as with the couch, we couldn't have physically moved this with our hands. The workers who brought it into our house seemed to have used a commercial grade version of the Shoulder Dolly themselves.Plusses- Well made straps and buckles- Does what it says and really does help move heavier objects without needing arms or brute force- The balance with the single strap under the object worked better than I thought it would.- Can also use as forearm straps (although we didn't try that method)- Has a pretty large object length limit although I'm questioning if it can handle a 9' object as our 8' object didn't leave much strap length.Minuses- Needs more instruction for various scenarios such as up and down stairs. There are decent instructions overall but we would have had less struggles- My wife at 4'10" found the straps a bit hard to use. They didn't seem to fit right and she was wanting move adjustability with how they fit her. She also thought the strap might have been slipping in the buckle a bit.- I wish there was a bag included with the straps for the price as getting them back into the box is a pain and they will sit until the next large object needs to be moved.- The price is high for what it is

Don’t skip these on moving day
We bought these the day before moving a set of furniture we had moved a few months ago. These straps made the process SO MUCH BETTER. Good quality. These will last us for years to come and are a fantastic investment. So glad we purchased.
