My kids love this. They have fun looking at it while they eat dinner!

I bought this for my 8 year old son who is very interested in the PToE. He likes it because it has an updated list and includes more recently discovered elements. We don't do the activity side of any of these types of mats, so I can't comment on that, but it's a great placemat - big and easy to clean - and it's a great, simple learning tool for my son. Don't even think about it, just buy it! You'll be happy you did.

High Quality placemat - good graphics with bright, colorful, easy to read details. Thick plastic - very robust, but corners are rounded and all edges are sanded for child safety. No "paper cuts" from this placemat. My child enjoys looking at it while eating - placemat is a winner!

Our 11 year old became fascinated with the chemistry behind making her own slime. This placemat was so helpful in helping her to undertand the basics. It's on her bedroom desk for easy reference and she protects her desk top with it. Great age-appropriate reference for a tween.

I got the Periodic Table of the Elements placemat by Tot Talk. The front side is a colorful periodic table with little illustrations showing where the individual elements are commonly found or used (the reason I got this chart). However, unlike some similar illustrated periodic tables, those little illustrations are unnamed; most are obvious but some aren't. The elements are grouped by color and the groupings are clearly explained. Even though it has less information than more 'serious' periodic tables, it's much funner and easier to use. On the back side is a lesson in basic atomic structure and a quiz. Despite the large area available, the information and quiz on the back side is scant, and presented in a dull, repetitive way. And color would've been much nicer than black and grey. The lamination and paper is extra-thick (probably the thickest lamination I've ever seen), and is totally water-resistant. And it's made in the U.S.A.

My 7 year old son uses this mat at every meal time. He sings his periodic table song along with reading the elements on the mat. It is mdd very sturdily. It's one of the best "learning mats" we have, and we have lot of them. It's not flimsy at all. Very good. I would highly recommend it and would buy it again.

This made my 9 year old son very happy. Nice bright colors, easy to read, and the quality is very sturdy plastic.

This placemat is perfect for my 4y/o granddaughter. She actually has learned about the table and loves eating at the table with this mat. She doesn't eat a meal without it. It's been a wonderful learning tool. We love that it's dry erase and has a little worksheet on the back. My granddaughter might only be 4 but this has sparked a love of chemistry for her.

The coloured groupings are helpful, but the mat was a bit creased upon arrival.

This periodic table is cute and very easy to remember every element because of the picture beside the symbol.

Was expecting a typical kids placemat for the table at meal time with some grip. I could have printed this and laminated it myself for about $5. The product is very underwhelming.
