Mr. Marshall's Method (Learning To Love Series Book 1)

Mr. Marshall is every girl's fantasy!
Holy heck! Talk about steamy taboo! Mr. Marshall is every high school girl’s fantasy and even those of us older women. At Holly’s first interaction with Mr. Marshall, she finds herself on her knees in front of him helping him with (clears throat) a problem. From that moment the chemistry between her and Evan is off the charts. Even as he’s reminding himself that she’s his student, his body refuses to acknowledge such a thing is against the rules. For Holly, she’s got a life full of school, work, and just trying to get by. But when Evan seems to keep turning up just when she needs him, she opens herself up to what may be between them.”This was hot, heavy, forbidden hunger – we both knew the consequences of our actions if anyone found out.”This was definitely steamy in the steamiest sense of the word. With a small look at high school life and its wacky friendships interspersed, this is the story of two people who should never have looked at each other in any but a student/teacher sort of way. Holly is eighteen and Evan twenty-two so everything is perfectly legal here if not morally right. And oh my gosh! This couple were perfection together!I loved that Holly was dedicated to her goals, even if her view of her future was a bit “blank”. She worked hard and took care of her business, was feisty yet sweet, but never found time just for the simple things in life. Evan was the type of hero that knew he should stay away but was unable to do so. The more he gets to know Holly the further he falls. And despite his heart being broken, in the end he does what he knows he must do to ensure a safe and fulfilled future for her. I loved everything about him.”Year after year the plants struggle against their surroundings to survive. Only the toughest make it through and what’s left brings us the best quality, sweetest fruit possible.”“Too bad they have to fight so hard.”“You don’t get it, do you?” he said in a near whisper. “It’s the battle that makes them the best of the best…”This is a fast read with a great rhythm to it that will have you finished before you realize it. The progression of this relationship was completely organic and never felt stilted or contrived. I absolutely loved the secondary characters, some so over the top you can’t help but laugh at their antics, and others that will have you wanting to smack them upside their heads. The fact that the next book is about two of these characters has me aching for their story ASAP as they have both already captured my heart.Highly recommending this for those who love taboo student/teacher romances with enough angst to drive the story without overwhelming it.

Still swooning!!!
YES!!!!! I am so in love with this book! Evan and Holly have such an adorable story! And there is heartbreak, as there always will be with teacher/student romance because its "forbidden" and the wrong person always finds out. But they key to the story is if they can find their way through that heartbreak. You think that Evan and Holly do and they things will be all sunshine and roses and that they will live happily ever after..... but then he has to leave. And then there is some more heartbreak... and I cried. Yep! I cried! While sitting at work reading (we wont talk about how I should have been working....) I had to STOP reading to feel the emotion out and when I could finally dry my eyes I went right back to it. And then cried again. I am not going to tell you how this ends, you are going to have to read it yourself to see what happens.... but I am telling you Jessa York has a way of writing these stories that just suck me right in and do NOT want to let me go, no matter what I am supposed to be doing. Worth every single forbidden star I can give it! Just wonderful!

liked things
I liked things about the story. The hero and heroine were likable. They had chemistry that resulted in hot sexy times. Also there was no cheating in the story.SPOILERS INCLUDED BELOWUnfortunately the few things that I didn't like about the story took away from my enjoyment. There was a needless separation that lasted for 6 months. The hero left the heroine and neither of them made any effort to even talk to each other. No texts. No emails. No calls. They went from being passionate lovers spending all of their time together to having zero contact. Made it seem like their relationship was not worth them putting forth the effort. When the separation was over very little was said about what occurred during it and why other than the standard it was for the heroine's own good. She never gave the hero trouble about that. Never made him work to be with her again. He came back and that was that, on to the epilogue. Also it was never addressed if the hero had sex with OW during the separation and so I choose to believe that he remained celibate. The readers were given the heroine's point of view during the separation and it was clear that she was celibate.Even though it was a HFN I didn't like the ending either. It was disjointed and heroine's chosen profession came out of left field and was not a good fit for her. It was like the author just wanted the book to be finished and so she just ended it without much thought.

Mr. Marshall, OH MY!!
I took a chance on this new to me author after reading the blurb. This is one of the best student/teacher stories I've read. It was tastefully written and emotional. I Really loved Evan and Holly's relationship. They risked a lot to be together. As expected there was some heartbreak, but their HEA was so worth it. I've already pre-ordered the next book in this series.

Love!
I am a junkie for teacher/student romance novels and just forbidden romance novels in general so I was immediately hooked by this book. That being said, because I read so many of this type of book, they can easily get predictable. I felt like while this was slightly predictable, it was still very intriguing and the characters played a big role in my love for this. I couldn't not love Holly and Evan and their relationship and care for one another. This is a sweet but sexy novel and such a great read!

Fantastic
Why did it take me so long to read this?! I couldn't put it down and can't wait until the next one in this new series from Jessa!Mr Marshall's Method is the first in a new series and is a teacher/student page turner! You will instantly fall in love with both Holly and Evan. The side characters are all fantastic too and it was fun catching up with Jason and Viv from Jessa's previous series.Looking forward to the next in the series!

4 Richly Deserved Stars ⭐
Awww, sometimes you don't need perfection, you just need a read that engrosses you and keeps you happy. A teacher/student romance that is certainly forbidden but definitely forgivable in this instance.I couldn't possibly have loved our heroine anymore than I did, because Holly Anderson was perfect. In her last year of high school, she's been dealt a harsh hand, yet remains kind and appreciative without bemoaning the world.Evan Marshall instinctively knows he's in trouble. As a new teacher at Santa Lena's Academy, he anticipates that his English classes aren't going to set his students alight. But a beautiful and unassuming young student in his overall orbit who can quote Shakespeare; he's a goner. What begins as coincidental interactions, quickly leads to a compulsion to be together. And Evan's constant acts of kindness and Holly's gentle demeanour just tugged at the heart strings.Neither are looking for complications yet are simply happier being together. And although their situation is inappropriate (even though the age gap isn't huge), there will always be struggle.Mr Marshall's Method was my first read by this author and I was sold. It was lovely and steamy and I already have the next book in my greedy little hands 💜

An enjoyable forbidden romance
This is a student/teacher relationship between Mr Evan Marshall and Holly. I would have loved for Evan to have been older, he was only 22 and Holly 18. Although they were both fairly mature, especially Holly, she was a very strong person and had not had a good life. Evan on the other hand has led a privileged life and has had his life worked out for him. (Or so his father thought)This was a sexy read with some drama and family issues.
