Great tool
Great for getting the underlayer of fur out. Gentle on their skin. Works equally well on the cat and my black Lab.

Works good. Dog likes it.
Works good for brown lab. Loves to have the brush used. De-sheds without leaving a mess. Use it during baths too.

No stress grooming tool
Kong has a WINNER with this grooming tool. This sturdy and pain free Kong brush was recommended for my assistance dog. Very effective on short-hair breeds as it gently loosens hair which can then be brushed or combed away.

Excellent for loosening dead fur
My Rottie/pit mix loves butt scratches so he LOVES butt scratches and goes nuts for this brush. He has incredibly short fur, but it’s surprisingly thick. When I rescued him he had a horribly flaky itchy skin and shed a substantial amount. When I switched his food up and his skin improved he went through a massive blowout as healthy skin and hair started turning over. Using this brush 3 to 4 times a week became essential to help it with this process. Even with the improvements we saw through diet, I noticed that he itched substantially less once we started using this 3 to 4 times a week. As other reviewers have noted, it does not collect fur. But it isn’t really designed too. It’s meant to loosen fur which it does a phenomenal job at. It even makes a shedding comb more effective because of of how well it loosens the undercoat. And when used in a bath with him to scrub shampoo, his fur has felt even softer and as a bonus he enjoys the bathtime a little bit more Very happy with this purchase!

Doesn't Remove Much Hair, but Dogs Love it!
You'll notice that this product is not called a pet brush. This is more like a massaging tool that helps to remove some loose surface hair in the process. I haven't used it as a shampooer, but based on what I've experienced, I can see it working very well for that purpose. Compared to a furminator, shedding blade, or even a rake style brush, the ZoomGroom performs pretty mediocrily as far as removing loose hair. If you're looking for something to brush out loose hair, this is NOT the tool you're looking for. I used it on my medium-haired (similar to german shepherd hair) dog and it did not remove even a single strand of undercoat. I can tell the difference between his top coat and undercoat because they're different colors. However, it did remove some surface loose hair. It does make a mess as the hair gets all over the place, so just beware. The benefit of this tool over the other "brushes" is that the dogs love the feel of this, and sometimes, just pleasing your dog is the most important thing at that moment. My medium-hair dog would always walk away whenever I used the furminator on certain parts of his body, probably because it was uncomfortable. But he enjoys being "brushed" with the ZoomGroom. It's basically like petting your dog, except with a tool instead of directly with your hand--which is actually great if you don't want to dirty your hands too much. The ZoomGroom works better on short haired dogs (like a pitbull), particularly dogs without an undercoat. The furminator digs too deeply on short-haired dogs and I can feel its metal teeth sliding against their skin, even when I'm trying to brush them lightly. One of my dogs is a smaller Formosan Mountain Dog (short hair). He has a lot of undercoating around his neck area but not much at the rest of his body. So I use the furminator for his neck and the ZoomGroom for the rest of his body since I feel the furminator is too rough at those places. So to recap: Pros - - great as a massaging tool that dogs seem to enjoy, especially if you don't want to dirty your hands as much, in addition to removing a small amount of loose surface hairs - probably great a shampooer - good for brushing the surface coat, which helps to spread your dog's natural oils and keeps their coat nice and shiny - easy and comfortable to grip - did I mention that dogs enjoy being brushed with this over most other brushes? Cons - - not really a dog brush intended to remove loose hair, and does not remove any (or much) undercoat - messy; dog hair will get all over the place In most cases, this isn't a substitute for a real pet brush, but I think it's a nice addition. I see it more as a treat for my dogs, rather than a practical grooming tool. BTW, I notice it's called a grooming TOY. What's that mean? Is this also meant to be a toy for the dogs to play with? Side Note: I've read some other reviews that have said the ZoomGroom worked great on their dog's undercoat so maybe it just depends.

Best brush
The only brush I’ll use! I have two GSP mixed dogs and this brush gets all of their loose hairs. It’s very comfortable in my hand and my dogs seem to think it’s a nice massage.

Simply the best for short haired shedding dogs
Kong ZoomGroom simply works with short haired dogs (and cats). I have used them for years, eventually the soft teeth will round over because of wear, but they are inexpensive and work so well that I will always come back to a ZoomGroom. You need not worry, they last for years.

Get This Brush!
Best brush in my opinion for removing dog hair from a heavy shedding coat, I have used many kinds of brushes and this brush has impressed me the most. Soft enough that it doesn't hurt their skin but sturdy enough it grabs and holds well. Good for using in their bath too for scrubbing and lathering!

Great tool and great value
Great product, we bought this after noticing our furminator was thinning our old dogs fur when grooming, it appears to get great results as it not only removed dead hair but hair that is attached as well. After a bit of research we found that the furminator and similar products are basically half a clipper blade and as such will thin the hair if used too regularly. As such we looked for a tool which is safe for regular grooming, is kind to the dogs fur/skin and is better than a regular brush during heavy shedding. The zoomgroom was the answer to our search, it is made of a soft silicone/rubber with soft prongs which can penetrate into the dogs undercoat to remove the dead hair. It has worked wonders for our medium and medium to long haired dogs and our long haired cat! The animals appear to love it being used and we have noticed no thinning or any other side effects. The only downside we have found is that with the longer haired breeds the hair doesn't clump into the zoomgroom but instead is carried out all over the room/carpet! This however has been a minor inconvenience for what we have found to be our go to dog grooming tool.

It is pretty blindingly expensive for what is just a rubber brush ...
Heard about the Zoom Groom for ages and I was a bit skeptical as to its value. It is pretty blindingly expensive for what is just a rubber brush after all. I will say however that this works like a dream on our dogs. The rubber compound is a little sticky and I'm guessing this is the proprietary formula for which you pay such a premium (apart from the 'Kong' brand). Well I'll tell you it does work. It pulls the loose fur right off and they love it. So, excellent product. I've tried similar stuff from local brands which definitely don't have half the effect this does. So, if you want a product to 'de-fur' your dogs, this is it. Is it worth the money? Only you can decide that for yourself.
