To keep its price in the sub $300 range, it takes a few liberties with the quality of some of its components. Among these are the Bowden tube and its associated fittings. The Bowden couplers supplied with the unit are made with plastic teeth and, as a consequence, have a nasty tendency to wear out prematurely with sometimes catastrophic results on the print -- a common failure is for the Bowden tube to simply pop out of the coupler resulting in, if not attended, a jammed up tube with an aborted print or worse yet a spaghetti mass of filament. Even if they do not completely fail, there is enough play in the couplers to adversely affect the quality of the print as filament is fed and retracted with considerable slop in the feed rates.The Capricorn Premium Tubing kit solves these problems perfectly. The tubing itself has significantly less internal friction than the OEM supplied tubing, and the Bowden couplers use metal teeth instead of the original plastic, resulting in a tight and immovable grasp on the Bowden tube. As a consequence, there are no longer any failures where the tubing pops out of the coupler, and the "slop" in feed rates due to coupler slippage is totally eliminated. My prints are noticeably cleaner and sharper with the new tubing and fittings.Replacement is a piece of cake. Simply remove one screw from the housing containing the extruder fan; bring the unit up to temperature, release the original coupler's locking clasp and pull out the old tubing. Cut the new tubing to size, making sure to keep the ends as perpendicular as possible; attach the new couplers; insert the new tubing into the extruder assembly until it stops; and lock everything in place.It's a shame that Creality doesn't simply supply these parts with the original product.
