Like Magic Review: Vickers for an such a sweet and inspirational read - This is a delightful middle-grade novel about finding unexpected friendships! Elaine Vickers masterfully intertwines three girls from three culturally different backgrounds and walks of life to find a friendship that each girl so desperately needs. The girls discover this friendship through the use of a "treasure box." Each girl provides inspiration to the other as they also look deeper within themselves as they cope with some difficult life changes. Thanks Ms. Vickers for an such a sweet and inspirational read! I am so excited to share this book with my culturally diverse 4th grade class. I know many of them will be able to relate to the girls in this story and enjoy this book as much as I did! Review: Sweet and Diverse - I really enjoyed this sweet book that emphasizes big life changes for tween girls, along with friendship and the good things that come from libraries! The setting was new to me and I liked many of the details (now am dying to try Hawaiian food and to visit Salt Lake), and I liked the way the girls had new spins on classic tween family problems, and that they were a diverse bunch. This would be a good book for girls who are facing big changes or new beginnings at home or at school. Very cute.

Great read
Reading this book with my 10 yo daughter and we are both really enjoying the journeys of each of the three girls. Each girl’s life has its own struggle and they are strangers who have bonded without realizing it. A story that keeps you wanting to turn the page!

Bought for 12 yr. Old Girl
My daughter is not very much into reading but I do try to find books to help instill in her good reading habits. I actually found her quite interested in this one. The dynamics between the three characters in the book kept her wanting to read more. Definitely recommend!

I absolutely loved this book
I absolutely loved this book! Three young girls trying to navigate their way-which leads to each other! This book will be loved by many children because so many will be able to relate. Discovering who you are and finding your place can be difficult. I loved these girls found each other through a mysterious treasure box left in the library. Vickers' writing was equally superb. Add this to your libraries, you won't be disappointed!

Don't Miss This One
We purchased this book as a Christmas gift for our 10 year old daughter. She completely lost herself in the story! Every morning I would get the run down of what she'd read the night before. The characters are so vivid they became friends! My daughter drew pictures of each girl for a book report for school. I cannot say enough good about the positive and uplifting messages in this book.

Story of friendship and love
I absolutely LOVED this book. Such a touching story about 3 girls who were strangers yet had so much in common and all needed each other. I loved how their stories moved in and out of each other yet kept you guessing the whole time. I found this fun read captivating. Highly recommend. I definitely know what all my kids teachers will be getting as gifts this year.
