Venture Gear Overwatch Shooting Safety Sunglasses, Forest Gray Anti-Fog Lens

I like these. They were a low cost with the safety ratings and style I wanted. Not sure about the anti-fog lens...condensation forms on anything - these are no exception. I would say the extra wide arm, helping to create a more protected area around your eyes, also prevents air movement and has at times encouraged fogging. I still like them though. They have spent many hot days baking on the dash of my truck in direct sun and have not deformed or had any of the soft rubberized material become become gummy. They have been very durable and would buy them again. **UPDATE -12/31/2020** After 2.5 years (3 summers), all of the original comments hold true - especially their materials durability after being on my truck dash. If they are not on my face, these stay on the dash of my Ram 2500. It get hot in this location during the summer, yet the materials used on these sunglasses have held up. No deformation or deterioration of the soft rubberized pieces. There are now a few lens scratches, so I will be buying another pair of these.

Update 23 Sep 2019 I purchased a second set. Overall I was very satisfied with the safety glasses. They look great and feel good on your face. My last pair I scratched the lenses while working under my truck. I put them on top of my head then smacked them into the transmission housing no scratches on my head though. I kept wearing them though until I was getting out of the back of a van and tripped face first into the back of a hard plastic seat. My eyes were saved my face a little marked up but worse the hinge on the glasses broke. Just a clumsy fall and they took the brunt of it. So, I just got around to replacing them and for the price, style, and color I wanted them same thing. The plastic is resilient, the hinges seem to be the weakest point. Detailed review: I purchased these sunglasses to eventually replace a pair of cheap sunglasses I picked up over a year ago. I liked the style and color options available and the safety specs. The price was appealing as well. I have a habit of losing my expensive name brand sunglasses it seems and the cheap ones stick around somehow. These seemed to emulate what I am looking for in a higher quality pair without the hefty price tag. Upon opening the box they come packaged in a sturdy clear clamshell blister pack. It is easy to open no knife or scissors needed. The glasses were in perfect condition with no scratches. Included is a soft bag that will also work to clean your lenses. The frames are flexible but not a soft plastic so not sure they would survive you sitting on them by accident just yet, give me a week and I may be able to confirm or deny. All the edges seem rounded and without any places that might irritate or scratch your face. The arms swing open smoothly with a bit of pressure and stay in place. Would like to see subdued hinges but that's just a personal preference. Hinges are metal and should be durable. Lenses are sturdy in the frame. A rubberized coating on the nose and arms should help keep them in place on your face. On my face they feel comfortable and snug enough not to fall off during most activity. I will try them on a run and bike ride to see if those thoughts change. Lenses have good clarity and the amber tint should do well on all but the brightest days. So far I like the way they look and feel. I generally need to be closer to the medium/large size as small frames dont fit the width of my face well. I will try these out over the next week or two and conclude my thoughts on comfort and fit. I will also follow up if I feel there are issues with durability. So far these are a good purchase and I would recommend them to a friend. I will deffinitly be trying other models of sunglasses from them.

These glasses fit me well and offer the protection I need. The impact resistance is what drew me to them. They get this resistance from a thin layer of plastic on the inside and outside like pretty much any safety glass. After having mine for about 4 years this layer has started to peel. I have worn them everywhere during daylight hours almost every day for 4 years. Driving, yard work, shooting, working, everywhere, everything. I still like them. I don't think they owe me anything. I'm on the product page now to order a new pair and thought I'd leave a review. They look a little wonky now but they still work fine as normal sunglasses. If I wanted to I could probably peel the rest of the plastic off. I am assuming that the impact resistance on the peeled areas is now compromised so I'm going to replace them with a new pair. For less than twenty bucks I'm still happy with them. Most people will probably lose them long before this happens which is why I won't buy a pair of more expensive glasses. I reluctantly took one star away because of the peeling but realistically it's a 5 star product. How long should a pair of sunglasses last? I am here replacing them so it's not fair to give it 5 stars...

I had been looking for fair priced eye wear that was ballistic rated and looked sharp for daily use as well as at the range. These fit the bill. They meet all the safety specs I was looking for and looked good without looking too "tactical". I don't expect these to hold up for multiple years but for the price I accept that. I had been looking at Edge and Magpul's eye wear but again, the price, quality and look sold me on these. One thing I absolutely love about these is that they fit with my 5.11 hats perfectly. One issue I have with a lot of the safety eye wear is that they don't fit well with my hats and I have to raise the hat up slightly for the eye wear to fit comfortably. Non issue with these. The only real downside I find with these are the hinges. The stick out a couple of millimeters on the inside of the eye wear. They don't touch my temples but I still would rather a collapsible style. Overall, I am very happy with finding these and will buy more down the road. Would definitely recommend these.

These might be the best kept secret in the world of uv filtering eye wear. These are easily the best sunglasses I've ever owned and they're cheap to boot. They're very comfortable and do a great job of keeping bright light from leaking in around your periphery, which was key for me in avoiding headaches from prolonged use. They also seem to be pretty tough. You will eventually scratch them up, but at such a low price point, it's not really a big issue. And they also look pretty dope, for what that's worth.

I like the fact that these are stylish and the cost of the product is very low with many desirable qualities. • Light weight • Rubber grips on the nose and ear pieces • Polarized + safety lenses, PZ87+ lenses • Many different lense color choices • Many different frame colors However, the quality of this product directly reflects the price. The rubber on these sunglasses is very weak, as you can see in the attached pictures. The heat and oils from your skin appear to break it down within a couple months of use. The metal 3 piece swivels utilized to attach the ear pieces to the forward frame are weak as well. The screws strip every once in a while and fall out, and some of the metal used for the screw retaining eyelets separate, making these sunglasses virtually unusable. The lenses scratch relatively easily, and are sometimes not fully seated in the forward frame, creating much doubt on their ability to be safety glasses and limit the life span of each pair. I also noticed that the ear piece and forward frame colors do not match. I would say that you will need to buy 3 or 4 pairs of these sunglasses to last as long as 1 pair of well made, ballistic, safety sunglasses.

Fantastic sunglasses for the price! They are ballistic PZ87+ spec (Not Z94 spec so it may not be on the APEL list for the Armed Forces) and the image quality is TOP NOTCH! I got the OD frame with Bronze glasses and they are fantastic! I recommend the Bronze glasses for driving too as well as range use. These easily compared with Oakley's 10x the price! The only thing that would make these better is if they made them in FDE, Tan, Sage Green and Stealth Grey! Edit: Updated ballistic specifications. Edit2: after more than a year of service they broke due to abuse by young daughter and normal wear and tear. I ordered a new pair which shipped BLAZINGLY fast! The new model has a new molded in logo that won't rub off and seems more robust well done VG!

I ordered these for work because I have to be outside and where a mask most of the day, my other sunglasses fogged up a lot. These work Great!! I'd definitely buy these again if anything ever happened to the pair I have.

They look great, feel great and comfortable on my head. They don’t fog up at all even in extreme heat or while wearing a mask which was the main reason I purchased them. But they do scratch though, other than that not a big deal! They’re sunglasses at the end of the day u gotta be careful with them.
