**Q: Is the skin edible, it seemed like plastic I should have peeled off?**
A: No, it’s edible. I think they use alternate skins to the old fashioned “shorts” from pig intestines which are dried using saltpetre.
I have noted most sausages on sale now are in alternative skins.

A bit wet and lacking in flavour for me. I like drier, snappier and with more clove / spice flavours. Prefer their biltong, although even that isn't a full 5 stars. Droe wors I'll get elsewhere.
