The chiming tunes are easy to wake up to. The volume adjusts to very loud, I have it on lowest volume, and that wakes me, I am an average sleeper. The dial is easy to read from across the room, better than most clocks this size. The hands glow well at night, I can tell at a glance the time, but they don't light up the room at all. The clock is a good size for a small night table, yet large enough to read easily. I especially like that it is easy to turn on and off the alarm by just lightly pressing the gold bar on top.
