Speck Products CandyShell Grip Case for iPhone 5 & 5S - Lemongrass Yellow/Harbor Blue

I purchased this case as soon as I got my iPhone 5 last year and I love it. I'm extremely anal about protecting my electronics and always do a ton of research. I wanted a case that would provide significant protection for the phone without ruining its sleek profile. One advantage this case had over others was that my dad had it on his iPhone so I had some real life feedback and was able to play with it.The Speck CandyShell Grip has the best of both worlds. The hard structure of the plastic ensures a good fit and keeps the phone from easily popping out of the case, while the rubbery interior protects the exterior of the phone from scratches and provides shock absorption. The additional sock absorbing rubber at each corner of the case adds further protection and the raised bezel allows you to lay the phone facedown without the screen touching any surfaces.My favorite aspect of the CandyShell Grip, which is why I chose it over all the other Speck CandyShell cases, is the raised, rubbery grip lines on the back of the case. They solve the problem I always have with hard plastic phone cases. Without these rubber grips, hard plastic cases are slippery. They're hard to hold, especially if your hands sweat, and they slide all over the place. Put them on the car's passenger seat and they'll glide right onto the floor. Set them in the couch arm and they'll slide off the couch. They crack easily, especially when you drop them, which you will because they're so slippery.This is why the design of the CandyShell Grip is so genius. It takes a bit of careful maneuvering to pop the phone in and out of the case, but once it's in I see no reason to remove unless I need to do so at the Apple Store. My iPhone 5 fits perfectly in this case and the molded rubber buttons are easy to press while providing good feedback. The ports and silence switch are easily accessible and the speakers are protected. Though covered so they cannot be damaged by debris, the tiny holes transmit sound well.Something else important to mention is that Speck stands behind their products and supports their warranty. They recently replaced my case due to damage it has sustained over time. I figured they would consider the damage normal wear and tear but asked about it anyway. I was very pleased when they agreed to warranty the case and covered both the cost of my shipping the damaged case back to them and them shipping me the replacement.This is the kind of behavior that instills brand loyalty and because of this experience I will be purchasing a Speck case for my iPad Mini to replace the one that is currently falling apart (different brand). Seriously, manufacturers, consumers pay attention to this sort of thing. Speck has won my loyalty and future business, not to mention the positive word of mouth I have been spreading all over the place.My only feedback for Speck regarding the CandyShell Grip Case is- 1. PLEASE don't stop making it and 2. more light color combinations. I love my Lemongrass Yellow/Harbor Blue case! When it comes to phone cases, dark colors tend to disappear in my purses/bags because for some reason the interiors are almost always black. I can never find anything, let alone my phone if the case blends too easily.

Slim, durable and has a good grip. Has just the right amount of non-slip material. Doesn't make it difficult to slide in and out of a pocket either. I've used this case for three different phones now, iphone 6s, iphone 5s, Samsung Galaxy s4. It's a great case, adds very little bulk, easy to grip but still slides into pockets. Holds well up over time. Only thing I don't like is its hard to take on and off. I've been using this case on my iPhone 5S for a little over a year now and I've been extremely pleased with it. I remember laboring over what case to buy because I wanted one of those fun printed cases, but all the ones I found were really nothing but shells. And me, I drop things and knew I needed better protection than that. I wanted a case that would cushion the phone as well as protect against scrapes and scuffs. I finally chose the Speck Grip and a year later, I have no regrets. It's been a fantastic case and I wouldn't be at all surprised if I get another year's use out of it.The rubber grips really do help you keep a firmer hold on the phone and prevent it from sliding on a table. And this case has done its job well in protecting my phone. I've dropped it plenty, on carpets, on wood floors, on tile floors and even on concrete, and had no damage to the phone (I also have a Tech Armor HD Clear Screen Protector on the phone, which helps). The case itself has held up beautifully as well. It's got some light scuffs on the back now, most notably along the bottom edge of the back, but it's minor wear considering the time I've been using it.Functionality is great. Nothing about the design of the case interferes with the use of the phone. I have no trouble plugging in my charging cable and no trouble using the buttons. I really can't say enough about this case. It's durable, protective and it's cool looking. When it does finally wear out or when I eventually get a new phone, I'll definitely buy another one of these.
