As the title says the sapphire glass and maybe the dial too is very reflective so under artificial and more concentrated lights it's hard to read and you have to move it around to see the time, it's a men's dress watch and and quite flashy (pun intended) Also the day indicator is in blue for Saturday (today) and harder to see than the white it displays during the week 'workdays' (it'll be red for Sundays) Accuracy wise I received the watch late yesterday and already it's running a second late after setting it late dinnertime yesterday - the battery won't be fully charged yet though so that might improve. Grand Seiko watches are the most accurate if you have at least a few grand to drop but even they won't be perfectly accurate and automatics even less so... Due to the reflectivity - I might have chosen a different Seiko watch had I known so please bear that in mind - but on the plus side it won't get scratched and won't need a battery replacement for many years, this is the nicest watch I've ever owned but I didn't realize it will take some getting used to, the choice seems to be inevitable scratches or a mirror like watch that's harder to read in some settings. I'm still giving it 5 stars as I can't stop looking at it - the strap is also very nice.

I think this may be the last Seiko solar watch I shall buy. Not, I must stress, because I'm in any way dissatisfied with the brand, but because these watches seem indestructible. I have three Seiko solar watches now; my first one purchased 22 years ago, is as accurate now as on its first day. It required a replacement battery during its first year, but that matter was handled seamlessly by the Seiko service centre within warrenty. Since then, just the odd strap bar has failed, and that's been with fairly vigorous use - mountain biking, swimming, power tools... This watch is beautifully presented, and looks less "sporty" than some styles. It's perfect for casual or formal wear. I needed to get a watch with a sapphire crystal face this time, and it's good to find such a feature in this price bracket. The leather strap is stylish and very comfortable. Will I live long enough to outlive this latest Seiko solar? I hope I do, but I won't offer bets on it.

Very smart, dress watch style, Only cons are lack of luminosity, and day/date display is rather small, though perhaps in keeping with the elegant dress watch. Marvellous not to worry about batteries going flat, or the faff of having to sort out an automatic watch after not being used for a while. I would say good value especially as I believe it has sapphire glass.

Sadly, my previous Seiko Kinetic died after many, many years of use. This Solar Powered replacement soon caught my eye and I looked no further. It looks classy enough to be worn not only with a suit but also with casual dress. Everything is co-ordinated so nicely without looking tacky or gaudy. I particularly like the large Emerald Green Face along with the Gold five minute markers and hands. The Stainless Steel Case compliments the Face perfectly, along with the tasteful calf leather brown strap. I note some reviewers have changed the strap but I see no reason to do so. I much prefer the strap to the bracelet.... No more wrist hair pinching! Solar Powered, although you'd never know it from looking at it. Apparently, the cells are hidden around the face behind the second markers..... All very clever IMHO! The only VERY minor minus points are; 1. The second hand does not quite line up with every second marker throughout a minute but you'd have to be pretty finicky to moan about this on a watch in this price range. 2. The 'SAT' (Saturday) marker is emerald green in colour and the 'SUN' (Sunday) marker is red and both are difficult to read against thr black background. Quite why Seiko didin't leave them white like the weekdays, I know not. Again, not a big issue as I soon learnt that, if it's Green, it's Saturday and Red, Sunday! 3. Non Luminous, so you cannot tell the time in the dark...... At All! Conclusion: A Seiko Quality Solar Powererd Watch, with a Sapphire Crystal Glass Face for this price..... You can't go wrong and as such, Highly Recommended!

Stunning, beautiful watch, I absolutely love it. I was a bit worried it might be too big, but it’s perfect. Worth noting that I have pretty slim wrists, but only just managed to fit using the longest eye on the strap. I think many people would find the strap too short.

I wanted an everyday, but smart watch, not too expensive (under £500). Solar is ideal as no need to replace batteries, and high accuracy. With second hand, day & date. I hope this watch will last me 20+ years.

Couldn't be more pleased. Looks good, keeps perfect time. I don't know how long the the battery will last with the current light charging. But after owning the watch for two weeks I'm more than happy.

The watch is excellent value for money. Looks good and comfortable to wear. Very accurate. After opening the box it took 2 days to fully charge the battery. This is normal according to Seiko.

Die Uhr funktioniert sehr gut. Mit einem neuen Metallarmband aus der Prestage-Serie wirkt sie besonders hochwertig und elegant. Insgesamt macht sie einen sehr edlen Eindruck und sieht deutlich teurer aus, als sie tatsächlich ist.

Seiko dalla fattura eccezionale! Calibro solare di manifattura V158. Vetro zaffiro. Cassa in acciaio. WR 100m. Il daily watch perfetto, elegante, classico e robusto. I colori richiamano il Seiko Alpinist, in versione solare. Rivenditore "uhrenonline24" super affidabile. Consiglio l'acquisto di questo orologio!

A comfortable and attractive watch which is remarkable because it is so accurate. The solar power system eliminates regular battery replacement. I would buy it again.
