Easy to install and works like it should
Purchased this for my volvo xc90 and it's truly plug and play. Very simple and quick to install. Took about 20 minutes. Works the trailer lighting as it should.

Great solution, easy installation
Works perfectly, easy to install. My vehicle is a 2006 XC90. The only hard part is getting to the light connectors inside the access panels at the corners of the car, especially since you can't see them. Explore with your finger directly behind the trim panel where the seat belt rollers are mounted and you'll feel them. With a flashlight and a mirror or the front-facing camera on your phone you can see where they are behind the trim panel to help get you started. Feel around with your finger on the back of the light connector next to the car's sheet metal and you'll feel a thin flexible circular plastic disk which is the flange of the plastic pin holding the connector in place on the wall. Pry that disk with your finger and the pin easily pops out of the hole it's in. There is a little locking latch on the connectors to get them separated so that you can insert the T-connector of the Curt unit. When you've got the new connectors in place, it takes a little dexterity to feel for the hole and get the mounting pin pushed back into the wall, but try to do this if you can. You want to minimize the strain on the wiring going out to the tail light assembly.I played it safe and disconnected the negative lead of the battery (10 mm wrench) to de-energize the car before connecting the main power lead of the Curt unit to the power feed on the fuse block. Without doing that, know that you will be in contact with a live 12V line from the battery and you DO NOT want to accidentally touch that to the vehicle ground either directly (if you pull the existing wire off the post) or by bridging it with one of your tools! Plus these Volvos are so full of electronic control systems I didn't want to risk a static spike blowing up one of those modules. The only downside to disconnecting the battery is that I had to reset the clock in the instrument panel.I tucked the Curt unit between the vehicle body and that big wiring bundle at the bottom of the access hatch. No need for the adhesive which most people say doesn't hold anyway.I have the 4-pin plug to the trailer going through the tailgate for now, but intend to cut and reconnect these four wires using butt splices after routing the cable underneath the vehicle through one of those oval-shaped rubber plugs you will see in the floor of the vehicle body next to the battery.

Installation Instructions lacking but works well
Had to look up an installation video on youtube (etrailers) for a 2010 Volvo XC90 which helped a lot.On the driver side there are many connectors that look like good candidates but they're not the right one. The relevant factory connectors are hidden, on both the driver and passenger sides, behind the vehicle frame. Had to pull on them to get their plastic attachments out of the vehicle frame first in order to get them out and use the T-Connectors provided with this wiring kit.Also installed the fuse in the red fuse box (nothing on that in the instructions like other other reviewer said).I did not attach the main connector box to the frame with the double sided tape as that seemed unnecessary.I tried it on a trailer in the home depot parking lot. Running lights, left and right signals worked fine. I was alone and could not verify brake lights but I assume they would work fine.A lower price and better instructions would have gotten this product a 5 star.

Good direct fit
Overall pretty easy to install, all plugs in, no "vampire taps" or such to use. A couple of the connectors on the car are awkward to get at but that's not a fault of the kit and you can pry them off and even if the tab breaks it's not a big deal to let it hang behind the tailight.

Drains the battery
I hooked it up exactly how the uhaul video shows on the 07 volvo xc90 and the battery is fine while running .however when i turn the car off it drains the battery.it doesnt have any instructions to go off of so ill proabbly just return .not qorth wasting anymore time
