Shade & Shelter Wherever Needed
Just as so many other happy customers have written, this is truly a great quality, very versatile, and thoughtfully designed rectangular-brella. It has a sturdy clamp that opens and closes (or clamps) with a large, easily gripped screw. The three pivot/tilt points allow for a multitude of positions, and are all operated with push buttons with diameters similar to a penny. I have upper-body disabilities that negatively affect my strength and dexterity, and I have struggled a few times with the push buttons, but have (thus far) ultimately been successful with operating all of the buttons and the screw clamp. As I previously alluded to, the shade itself is rectangular in shape and almost flat when completely opened. I currently own two and have a third in transit. I use one of them as a full-time shade for my Adirondack Chair on the patio. I have it clamped to the leg of a small iron table, next to my chair, and am able to achieve complete shade throughout the day, even in the brutal, midday AZ sun. When I don't need it, I leave it attached to the table, but close and pivot the shade so it's parallel to the top of the table. It takes me about two minutes total to reposition and open or close it. I am using the second (and soon the third) shade for car camping. While camping, I have successfully used the second shade attached to the back of a medium-sized folding chair, as well as the side of the roof-rack on my Subaru Outback. I've also found it to be handy inside my Subaru for a bit of privacy when changing clothes. My husband tried using the shade attached to the upper frame of his backpack and, although he found the bobbing of it (just from the natural motion of walking) initially disconcerting, he returned from several hours of hiking without any sign of sun exposure whatsoever. (This is usually not the case, as even with sunscreen, his fair skin and shaved head are no match for the desert sun.) He reported that the clamp held tight, even through sections of scrambling, and that he quickly adjusted to hiking with the shade hovering above. In summary, the shade on the patio is working very well, and having two them of as supplemental shelter (to the tent and vehicle) while camping and hiking will function well in many capacities. They enhance our enjoyment of the outdoors, whether it's comfortably reading on the patio at home, or having versatile shelter options while camping and exploring.

Highly recommend
I’m writing this review 8 years after purchasing this umbrella because it’s still one of my favorite beach essentials. I use it every summer, and it’s held up incredibly well. Over the years, several friends have bought one after seeing mine in action. My girlfriend just ordered one too, and she finally convinced me to leave the review this product deserves. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend it!

Great For Artists For Plein Air Painting!
This umbrella is awesome for keeping the sun at bay while plein air painting. And I've been very surprised that, even in the windy desert, it hasn't toppled over my rig yet. I think it's because the sides are flat rather than curved, so they don't catch the wind like a traditional umbrella (great design, folks!). I love that this umbrella can be manipulated into any position so that, as the sun moves, I can easily move the umbrella to cover me and my painting surface, rather than having to rearrange my gear. I also love it that this umbrella is relatively lightweight and comes with a handy carrying case that has a strap. It's really easy to slip the umbrella into its carrying case, which is important for those of us who are impatient to get set up quickly to maximize painting time before the light moves. The only thing I'd like to see is some kind of extender that can make the umbrella higher. I attach it to my pochade box and it's the perfect height for me (I'm 5'5"), but anyone over 5'8" isn't going to fit under the umbrella unless they attach it to the top easel portion of a pochade box, which could make the whole rig unstable. This is the only reason I took off one star. Aside from the height issue, This umbrella is super durable and well-made. I've been putting it through its paces out in the wilderness and it's held up through wind and rain (we'll find out how it does in the snow this winter!). I can highly recommend this for artists who plein air paint. One workaround to the height issue would be to bring an extender pole with you that you can stake in the ground and attach the umbrella to that. I don't need the extra height, but if you do, this umbrella is worth carrying the extra pole. All of the other plein air-specific umbrellas I've found are far more expensive and have other issues (ex: their shape makes them prone to catch the wind).

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! It's exactly what I've been looking for!
***for those debating on which size to buy if you're using it on a stroller, this is the regular size & it's perfect, any bigger would've been in the way. We love to travel & be on the go with our kids. We go to Disney World once or twice a year as well as numerous day trips to the zoo & other fun places. I hate trying to try to shade the baby when he's sleeping in the stroller at Disney, or anywhere else (we don't go back to the rooms for naps because there's too much time wasted in traveling back & forth & then the kiddos will probably fall asleep on the bus ride & then be wide awake from their power nap when you get to the resort, so we invested in a big comfy stroller years ago, mainly just for Disney, lol) I usually clip thin blankets all around & unzip the fabric behind their head for airflow, but it's still bright & there's inevitably still sun shining on feet & legs & I also hate the direct sunlight on the baby/toddlers legs while we're strolling around & they're awake (I'm third generation skin cancer, & I have fair skinned kiddos). I've tried normal stroller umbrellas, but they don't offer much coverage unless I put two on, & they're domed so they don't lay well & that's a pain...BUT I finally found this cool umbrella. It's odd shaped & flatter so it fits great, & it pivots in 4 places to get the coverage you need! This one isn't in the way of anything (I can still get to the kids, the basket, the cupholders, etc.), I can still clip a stroller fan on the inside for when they're sleeping, and now I only need to use one of the thin muslin swaddle blankets clothes pinned with 1-2 clothes pins on one side to keep the sunlight out and off of the sleeping kiddo 💗 The only drawback I have with it is it makes my double stroller a little bit wider but I can easily reach underneath of it and and pop the top down to make it laydown flatter to get through doorways. I hooked it on the bar down by the basket of our stroller so that it laid flat on top of the canopies, but I can also attach it higher to shade the adults if I wanted to.

Saved from the sun for the season at least.
I travel For work and can’t always find shade at the beaches and this gem fit the bill. It Is nice and compact and the fabric is wonderful. I have had a few issues where it doesn’t stand up to wind very well. It has fallen from the clip mechanism . I have had it tightened as much as possible and it did slightly continue to fall forward with a little wind. I wish the tightening mechanism was better made. It hasn’t broken, but it certainly seems the mechanism to hold it to the chair is plastic and looks like it won’t last. I could be wrong, but I have had umbrella with better connectivity to the chair. I do very much like the 3 points you can pivot your umbrella. The umbrella itself is made of great material that stands up to tough sun rays. It works wonderfully however It doesn’t seem it was made to last either. It does the job. I have a better quality sun shade that attaches to the chairs a lot firmer and tighter. It isn’t bothered by wind and it made to last. It was much more expensive- but worth it. The umbrella has a cute design and is effective, I just don’t see it standing up to a few years of use. It also doesn’t fit ina carry one size bag. It is slightly too long. Must go in larger suitcase

Mow Down the Sun
I recently got my hands on the Versa-Brella UPF 50+ Personal Sun Shade, and let me tell you, it has completely revolutionized my lawn-mowing game! 🌞 First of all, if you’ve ever tried to mow your lawn in the blazing sun, you know it’s like wrestling with a sweaty octopus while juggling flaming swords. Enter this umbrella: it’s like having a personal shade butler who never asks for tips! The secure clamp attaches seamlessly to my lawn mower, and with a quick twist, I can angle it just right—360 degrees of sun-dodging glory! The fabric? Pure magic! It blocks the sun like a pro boxer dodging punches. I can mow without resembling a lobster fresh from the boiling pot. Plus, it's lightweight and folds up neatly for easy transport—because who wants a sun shield that requires a U-Haul to move? If you’re like me and would prefer to avoid sunburns that make you look like you lost a fight with a can of paint, get this umbrella. Your skin will thank you, and your lawn will look fabulous too! 10/10 would recommend to all my fellow lawn warriors! 🌿💪

Best clamp umbrella I have ever owned...so much so I bought a second.
Every summer I spend a lot of time at our neighborhood pool while my son does his swimming and tennis lessons. I am there for hours in the heat and the sun and there isn't much in the way of shade on the pool deck. Also, I suffer from sun induced headaches and spending too much time in the sun and heat makes for a miserable summer. Last summer I purchased a clamp umbrella that only had one ball and joint adjustment. It worked okay, but was a metal clamp that was hard an somewhat painful to tighten down and would chip the paint on the pool lounge chairs. Plus it wouldn't stay where I positioned it if it was at all windy or the angle was wrong. Then I found this umbrella and it is a far superior umbrella in every way! The materials are a much better quality. It is so easy to use and adjustable that I can perfectly position it to make sure that I am always in some amount of shade. It attaches remarkably well to the pool lounge chairs and because of the foam lining on the clamp it doesn't damage the metal tubing or frame of the deck loungers. Our pool has multiple types of lounge chairs. Some have round tubing and some have flat metal frames. This umbrella works great on both types. It also handles wind well. One day it was windy and the umbrella blew inside out, but instead of breaking the small umbrella tine just pulled out of the reinforced end cap. Much like a tent when you pull the frame out of the reinforced corner fabric to collapse the tent. All I had to do was just put it back in the end cap. Easy peasy, and it was good to go. I have had several people ask me where I got this umbrella and immediately got on their smart phones and ordered one for themselves. It is so handy and works so well, that I bought a second umbrella for my son.

Not AS positionable as I'd hoped but still handy
I got this for my son's baseball games after seeing a parent with a collapsing chair with a canopy built in. Those are $$$ and I already have nice camping chairs (that aren't quite as portable but still) so I wanted a separate umbrella. I used this for the first time the other day and it definitely HELPED but wasn't perfect. I couldn't quite get the angle right for where the sun was setting but got some coverage. It did clamp to my chair though and 3 or 4 other moms were ALL super interested in it. They didn't realize you could get a separate umbrella. One mom has this awesome collapsing rocking chair and said she will look into the umbrella for herself now! Not sure I sold it all that well trying to adjust it though! for a more overhead sun position it would have been perfect and even the best umbrella has its limitations when the sun is in that ONE spot in the sky you can't shield against it so I am still very happy but can't quite give it 5 stars as of now. mostly because I'd get it into one position and it would have slack in the lock and then tip out of the position I wanted it in. And it didn't feel very sturdy in some positions where I got better coverage. I was also in a tight area with other moms in chairs so maybe that affected it too. I do still recommend this umbrella, just know it's not perfect.

Best investment ever
I got this about a year and a half ago. First of all I use this on both my walkers, one handle is round one handle os square and i use it on the back handle of my wheelchair. It'd been the best investment ever! I really struggle with my health in all weather's. It protects me from the heat in the summer, the rain in the spring and fall, and because it is fully adjustable I can maneuver it to fully cover me from my walker and the back of my wheelchair which is not parallel to where I sit. It's still holding strong a year and a half later and it only comes off in the winter and is constantly getting put in and out of the back pf cabs and being used. It only has a very small wear marl at the top connecting junction from wear, travel and use. I will probably buy a second one when I get my new wheelchair so I don't have to keep taking it on and off constantly. This is a must purchase item if ur looking for weather coverage. Highly recommend. Very well made! And ment to last! It does wobble a bit but I believe that is to prevent it from snapping in the wind just a heads up for new users.
