Great switch!
I have this wired to turn off a pump at dark and it works extremely well. Hard to find a 12V NO/NC photocell switch and I was very pleased to find it works so well. Highly recommended.

Due to the power draw on this board I would not recommend use for small solar applications
It does work with a 12 volt power and there is an extra connection port for opposite use: power on in daylight and no power at night. I was trying to use it for a light on at night powered by batteries charged by 12 volt 1.5 watt solar panel during the day. The Esmusky relay board draws 42 mA at 12.5 volts at night and discharged my 12 1000 mAh NiCd battery pack in a few hours even with no load ( no light ) attached to the board. Due to the power draw on this board I would not recommend use for small solar applications. I would l only use this for 12 volt plug in power supplies.

Very compact unit that works great to control my outside low voltage light system
Very compact unit that works great to control my outside low voltage lighting system. I connected it in series with a timer to save energy (to turn lights off during the wee hours). A few gripes: I wished the screw terminals were a bit bigger. The power supply to the board is via two pins and I didn't have suitable plug so I soldered a couple of wires to the pins and used shrink tube to prevent accidental touching as the pins are very close together. Not a big deal, but would have preferred a couple of screw terminals for the supply mains. I am a bit confused why they mark these two pins in English with VDC and GND and the output relays in Chinese. No instructions are included but the connections are easy to figure out: The center screw terminal is the common, the left NO and the right NC. LED's are a nice touch (red is power on, green is on below the light threshold)

So far so good
I have used the controller for 3 weeks, so far so good.

30 Day Wonder
Mine lasted one month in service before failure. This product has an inherent design defect. The photocell control circuit has a sharp turn-on/turn-off threshold that is too sensitive to light level changes. The problem with this is that at dusk when the light level is diminishing, the relay has about a second or so where it can't decide if it is supposed to be on or off. That causes the relay to chatter in a on-off cycle. The duty cycle of the chatter is an alarming rate that make the relay go through many dozen on-off cycles. Not good for the relay controlled device, the relay driver circuit and certainly not good for the relay itself.I cannot recommend this product at all. The demo video on U-Tube exhibits the same characteristics.PS: This was the perfect answer for my application; a light controller for my flag light (well below the voltage and current rating of the relay). Too bad it is crap. A little tuning by a EE and this would be one slick circuit.

CAUTION this does not have reverse polarity protection!
Caution when hooking this up! It does NOT have reverse polarity protection on the red and black 12 volt input. Reversing them kills it instantly. Otherwise, it works exactly as described. You can turn the load you want to control on or off during day or night by connecting to either the normally closed or normally open relay outputs at the blue 3 position screw terminal block. The relay is on during the night and off during the day, the description is not really clear about that.

How to let out the magic blue smoke
I can confirm: there is no reverse polarity protection. Makes a satisfying pop, smells real nice when you find that out. I'll not be doing that with the next one I buy.
