What’s the height of this product?

The total height of this product is 29 cms, which is from the beginning of the screw thread at the bottom to the top of the inlet pipe.
When installed, the height from the rubber washer to the top is 25 cms. Hope this helpful. Regards.

Is this all that is needed to replace the broken kit that is currently in my cistern ?

This is the complete entry filling valve with float. This should be all you need if your problem relates to filling the cistern. The only other thing you might need is a fibre washer or rubber seal where the external water feed connects to the plastic filling valve.

What is the external dimension of the screw thread at the bottom where it tightens to the cistern. Also can the ball float be angled inwards

1/2" thread and yes ball can be freely angled to suit

My tank fed water has no shutoff valve. Was just going to change the dripping top part, turning on taps to reduce flow, any comments if a good idea?

HI ALAN, THESE IDEAS MAY HELP..
1--- AS IT IS TANK FED, THERE SHOULD BE A STOP COCK, PROBABLY IN THE LOFT, IN THE PIPE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK. IF NOT, OR IF STUCK, TRY A CORK IN THE OUT PIPE FROM THE TANK, PUT INTO THE PIPE FROM INSIDE THE TANK UNDER WATER, OR SOMETHING ELSE TO PLUG IF NO CORK THE RIGHT SIZE.
2--- IF IT IS THE WASHER FAILED IN THE TOP OF THE VALVE, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO REDUCE PRESSURE BY TURNING ON ALL COLD TAPS, AND CHANGE JUST THE DIAPHRAGM. A BIT MESSY, BUT I HAVE DONE THIS IN THE PAST.
3---YOU COULD ALSO TURN OFF THE TAP IN THE ROAD, IF YOU HAVE ONE, THERE SHOULD BE A QUARTER TURN TAP ON THE WATER METER IF YOU HAVE ONE. THEN DRAIN DOWN THE LOFT TANK. IF UNABLE TO TURN OFF AT THE MAINS, TIE UP THE TANK BALLCOCK, THEN DRAIN DOWN.
FOR FUTURE EASE, I GOT A QUARTER TURN TAP FROM AMAZON FOR ABOUT £8.00, AND PUT IT INTO THE CYSTERN SUPPLY PIPE  WHILE THE WATER WAS OFF.
