We have used them on metal cabinets, on cabinets that have a mirror on them and we also used them to lock the toilet seat! They were very easy to install and they are easy for adults to open and close! They do exactly what they were designed to do, so our baby can't get them open no matter how hard he tries!! These work great! Very easy to install and the adhesive holds fast! My one complaint is that the thin plastic rod on the clip side that holds the strap breaks easily when my baby pulls on it or pulls on the cabinets. So I just have to be diligent in making sure he doesn't pull on them. It's also very easy for the adults to use to get into the cabinets while baby hasn't figured out how it works yet. The adhesive also removes fairly cleanly.
