I didn't want to use them when I had guests because they looked old and dirty even though they were clean. I had tried Bar Keepers Friend, both powder and liquid. I did not see any change. When I tried this product, using a heavy duty sponge with a nylon mesh on one side, at first I didn't notice anything, but when I squeezed the sponge all this dirty water came out, so it was grabbing something. I sprinkled more powder, wet like a paste, let sit for 5 minutes, then scrubbed again. It took some 'elbow grease' but suddently I could see the sides of the pan cleaning up. I kept going and soon enough to my surprise it was shiny like new. I had actually been thinking of buying new pans and taking care of them better, but now they are like new. Also the pan that was dark brown on the bottom cleaned up well and that too now heats like the original. I probably spent 15 minutes per pan, so it isn't a quickie job, takes some rubbing, but well worth it.
