Love my new door does not let the weather inside!
I was worried that the three flaps that they go in and out might scare my little Maltipoo the two big dogs were pretty easy they hesitated but adapted well! The maltipoo I had to bribe with a treat then she was a pro! It also is nice the wind doesn’t blow the flaps to let the cold air inside.

EXTREMELY SATISFIED
I PURCHASED THIS BACK IN JULY OF 2025. HAD NEW DOORS REPLACED IN JANUARY AND PUT THE DOGGIE DOOR IN. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE SCREW HOLDING THE FLAPS IN PLACE. THEY STARTED TO LOOSEN AND THEN WOULDN'T TIGHEN AT ALL. I CALLED THE SUPPORT TEAM LOOKING FOR ADVICE OR A SOLUTION. I DIDN'T HAVE MUCH EXPECTATION AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY OFFERED TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT DOOR. WASN'T READY FOR A COMPANY THESE DAYS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I'LL BE HONEST I'M A BIT SHOCKED AND PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. GOOD FOR PETSAFE

My dogs can let themselves out!
We put this in our door in the garage. We have a fenced-in area outside so they can't run off. Our main purpose for this was when we are away for long periods of time for the day. They can now go in and out to do their business as they please. We measured our biggest dog ahead of time per instructions before buying. The website said large would fit our dogs. I got it out of the box and thought, no way my dogs will fit thru this. We practiced before installing and they all fit! As you can see in the video, we have 2 labs and a shepherd. The shepherd is the tallest and has no problem going through. It has multiple layers for insulation (we will see how it does keeping the cold out in the winter) but hot air stays out in the summer. If I had to buy another one, I mite to go the XL just to give them a little more room, but the price difference made me stick with the large and they do fit through. Our oldest dog is the chocolate lab who is 10 and he has no problems stepping over and in/out. Installation was easy. Comes with a sheet to trace onto your door, cut and screw in. The magnets keep the flaps in place after they go through. Love this doggie door!

A nice XL dog door that could be so much better.
We have the Extreme Weather XL dog door for our 85 lb Boxer and 140 lb Cane Corso. I would give it 5 stars for the first 6 months, 4 stars for the next 6 months, and 3 stars after the 1-year mark. I was impressed with the quality and fit when I received the door, the problem is it didn't hold up for long. "Extreme Weather" is misleading, at best I would say it's a 3-flap version. Due to the size of an XL large door, nothing keeps the weather out, especially on windy days. I hoped for a little more considering it's called "Extreme Weather" and was a more expensive. I'm having to replace the flaps more often, the 6-screw design helps avoid tearing where the screw holds the flap. After a year the bottom edges of the flaps began tearing evenly about two inches from the bottom (same on both flaps, inside and outside, and the left and right side). They all tore the same, it's apparent it needs someone to revisit the design and material. Other issues with the material are shrinkage and bowing of the outside flaps. The center flap, insulating flap, comes apart along both seams. The center flap is basically a piece of thin foam sandwiched between two heat sealed pieces of plastic. It doesn't appear they "designed" an XL large, weather resistant door, for large breed dogs. They just made a larger dog door based on their other models. I don't think consideration was given to the size of the dogs hitting that flap dozens of times per day, or the force of the wind on the larger door. The material looks identical to the smaller door we had and doesn't hold up to large dogs. The first time I used the large plastic cover to block it on a windy day I didn't notice the Cane Corso was still outside. Not a problem, she hit it at full puppy speed knocking the cover clear across the room, popping several of the screws out of the frame. She was very excited with her accomplishment. I can't imagine a home without a dog door. They use it night and day, sometimes just to stick their head out to check the weather. We had a large dog door until our new pup had trouble squeezing through. The large door worked very well. I saved it for the future. We replaced the flap every 2-3 years and needed to make a better attachment system due to the flaps tearing near the screws and plastic attachments breaking.

Great purchase
Very impressed with the quality of this dog door. I have an 80lb Belgian Malinois who is in and out all day long. It holds up well and fitment is good. It sits flush and looks nice. Seems to do well with keeping the elements out too. Very heavy duty.

Works well
Quality dog door, insulation is nice to have keeps cool air in on hot days. Holds up to wind pretty well, flaps have been staying closed on windy days with winds up to 20 to 30 mph. My cats also have no problem using it. Comes with a template for the cut out.

Sturdy
I never knew about this aluminum one. I've had the plastic one in multiple homes over the years. After a while of course it warps, especially in the hot climate places I've lived. I'm presuming this one won't. It's metal and sturdy and I'm a lot happier with it. A few things to note... I put this in a door that has the plastic one before. The dimensions are close, and it fit easily into the old hole, but the screw holes in the frame did not. Rather than cut the entire hole bigger, I just notched out where the screws go and it installed fine. I could not tell from anything online if both sides of the door for sure could use the panel. Yes, they both can, and it's way better than the version on the plastic door. It was very tight for me on the inside compared to outside, but each time you put it in a small layer of plastic shaves away making it subsequentlu easier. The tiniest glitch is that the inner flap often gets caught on the outer magnet. Not a huge deal or much you can do with a flapping door.

Easy installation and 3 layers of flaps keeps drafts out.
We had bought this model 4 years ago and were very happy with it however, the edges of the door flaps were getting worn and letting cold air in around it. Replacing all three flaps would have cost nearly as much as new model so that’s how we decided to just get new one. This one has an updated door to close it with that is easy to use. We have 3 dogs whom we love dearly and we love giving them the opportunity to go outside in the fenced in yard as they see fit. Two of the three are very lazy and chose to stay inside the majority of the time but when they sense a squirrel encroaching they can go outside on their own to try to catch it. We highly recommend!!!

Best purchase ever
We had replaced our exterior back door and had the door company install this dog door so can't comment on the installation process but the door itself is great quality and works very well. This is the first time our dog has had a dog door and it's been a huge improvement to her quality of life. She uses it all day every day and has taken control of her outside time. It's one of the best things we've purchased. I did a lot of research before buying this door and I like that it's metal framed, insulated, and locks easily and tight. We've had it for about 4 months now and no issues at all. Every 6 weeks or so I need to adjust the flap screws to bring the door flap up a few millimeters but I expected that and it's really simple to do. The insulation layer is effective and doesn't impede the door at all. We get a bit more dirty paw prints on the floor when it's raining outside but that's just the compromise with having a dog door. Installed in winter at approx -20C and no drafts, just had a few days of +30C and no heat coming in either so really pleased overall.

Excellent Door
This is a great product and we no longer have to keep opening and closing doors for our pets to go outside. The insulating layer in the middle works really well to keep out the heat in the summer. The magnetic latch is also strong enough to always keep the flap closed not matter the weather.
