Great jacket- but only if you can get it at a good price
I ordered this jacket when it was heavily discounted ($28). I agree with other reviewers that the jacket is hardly a good value at it's full retail price, but based on what I paid I am satisfied. The jacket is great. It's made of nylon and nylon is noisy. The same sound that a tent makes when you're folding it up- not unexpected. I'm 6' and 230lbs so I usually wear an XL. This jacket is slightly bigger than a normal XL. I wonder if the normal Large would have been a more snug fit? It does an excellent job at keeping me dry during heavy rains. It's basically a very nice rain-fly that I can wear over any other jacket or hoodie to stay dry. It's well made and very sharp and is a high quality garment overall- just don't spend too much. $50 or less is a more appropriate price in my opinion. Am I satisfied despite the larger size and "noise"? Absolutely, but only because I was able to get it for a reasonable amount. Had I spent $60 or more I would have probably returned it.

But if you can get this for 40$ or less it's a great deal in my opinion
First off, I'm a long time Carhartt fan. Now is this rain jacket worth the retail value of 120$ or whatever it was? Absolutely NOT. But if you can get this for 40$ or less it's a great deal in my opinion. The jacket has a great fit to it. A lot of people here were commenting on how "huge" it was, and that is not entirely accurate. Yes, it is slightly on the larger side, but it is not "baggy", in fact, I found it rather form fitting, it could be considered just slightly "long" though. Idk, maybe it fit me better than average because I have a muscular build, and this jacket gives me just enough room. What I love are all the pockets (there are plenty, including two huge inside pockets you could hold flashlights in), and the fact that the sides of the jacket unzip giving you flexibility when bending down so the jacket doesn't bunch up on you, this was an unexpected surprise as I did not know about this feature before buying it.Unless you're muscular or have a "heavy" build, you should definitely order a size down, like I said, this jacket is on the longer side, not so much "baggy".This is mostly subjective, but I do think it's a great looking rain jacket, I got the black one, it has a white inside with the "Carhartt" name written small everywhere diagonally which is a nice touch, the jacket is pretty adjustable with buttons and a zipper, and zippered sides that unzip all the way up as far as you would ever need them to go.THE ONLY CON: I still gave this jacket 5 stars, but my only "gripe" is that the hood is a little bit small, so just be aware of that. I can still fit my hat underneath it, but a tossle cap will probably lift it up and make it uncomfortable. And this is subjective, but the hood is round shaped, not "pointy", meaning that you won't look like a KKK member when you're wearing the hood like some jackets, lol.

First off this is a great light jacket
First off this is a great light jacket. But the material is kind of stiff. So its not comfortable like cotton or anything. The lining is very thin and doesnt help. It was also rough around my neck when its zipped. But ... it does do a great job of keeping warm when its a little cooler outside with out having to wear something bulky. I usually like more form fitting stuff... so the sleeves were a little poofy for my taste. Its cut very square. It this is your look and and you jsut care about staying warm and not trying to look like Conor McGregor then its a nice pick up.

Great fit, not too bulky
First, I haven't worn this jacket in a heavy, sustained rainstorm but I am sure it will do the job. I wasn't able to find this jacket locally in the size I needed so I was a little worried about sizing when I ordered it through Amazon. The jacket fits great and has enough room for a warm pullover and long sleeve t-shirt underneath, possibly more. Yet without these pieces underneath it still seems like a goof fit without being too bulky. The quality seems very close to the North Face jacket I was considering. I purchased this piece due to the ripstop material and taped seams while still being $40 less than the North Face piece.

Great rain jacket and windbreaker
This jacket is just perfect for late spring or early fall wearing where you not only need protection from potential rain, but a little added warmth if the wind should pick up. I packed this jacket in my ATV to have ready if the weather changes. I am 6'3" tall and weigh 225 pounds. The extra large tall fits perfect and gives me enough sleeve length to cover all of my arms even when holding onto the handlebars of the ATV.

but I'm pretty sure I'll use it more
Mainly bought this in case I was taking trips where I didn't want an umbrella. I've used it once so far, but I'm pretty sure I'll use it more.I agree with others that it makes a ton of noise, but it's not like you wear it every single day. It doesn't really keep you warm, so make sure you're bundled up underneath. Not much to say about this jacket, it's alright. I feel like I can definitely buy better rain coats, but this was cheap. It's still nothing great or amazing, hence my average rating.

The jacket is going to be great! It's waterproof which I'm assuming indicates also being wind-proof because that is what it feels like (bonus). The Carhartt name is associated with solid products and this coat is no different. It is, however, a bit noisy because of the material that makes it waterproof, but I'm expecting that to subside a little after consistent wear.

Hey this is cute and it does what it says big time
This thing is nice and stylish, but if you order make sure to go 2 sizes smaller. Seriously. I wear an xl and medium fit COMFORTABLY if you don't have intention of bundling under it. Large would have been good if you do. However, the lining to me was incredibly hot. It almost feels like a tarp. If I bundled in it I would probably want to die. Just saying.
