Easy to setup and read. High quality weather station.
We live in the far Northern part of the midwest, and with all the terrible weather going on around the country, it seemed like I was always looking for my phone to check the weather conditions. I decided to look for a weather station for the house that would display the current temp outside along with humidity. I was looking for something easy to set up that would sit on a countertop and give us the weather stats whenever we wanted them. I liked this unit because: - It has a big display which makes it easy to read from a distance. - You can add batteries (not supplied) for backup and it plugs into a normal AC outlet for normal operation - Very easy to set up. I took it out of the box, read the directions (which seemed easy to understand), plugged it in, and it began searching for one of its programmed sources of weather information. Bingo! Found a source and started displaying the weather conditions for my location. - It also displays the current time and date which I did not have to set up. - I like the display which shows both outside weather conditions and inside temp/humidity. It is colorful and looks great sitting on our countertop. My only other comment involves the wireless sensor that you place somewhere outside your house. It also has a display that shows the outside temp and humidity. Not sure why you need a display on the outside sensor, since it will probably be located someplace that might not be readily accessible. I have mine in a shady spot off the front porch under an eve so that I can't just go outside and look at the display which is small enough that you have to be fairly close to read it. So, I guess it is a nice to have but not necessary depending on where you install the sensor. After using this for a week, I have no complaints. It works great, agrees pretty closely with our local TV weather, and was reasonable in cost. Update: I have to change my rating slightly. I have had this weather station for a while now and it is still a nice device. But I live in far North of Illinois, so Winter gets pretty cold up here. We have had a nice warm streak but recently the temperature has gotten down into the low 20's and high teens and the cold has caused an issue with the remote sensor. At around 20 degrees outside, the inside base station lost the remote signal and was just displaying - - for the outside temp and humidity. I thought maybe the battery on the remote unit was low, so I put a new battery in it. But still the base could not find the remote sensor and just displayed the - - where the readings were supposed to be. I tried resetting the base by taking out it's backup battery and unplugging it. Then putting the batteries back and plugging it in. No dice. So, I brought the remote sensor into the house and set it next to the base station and waited. After about 10 minutes, the remote warmed up and the base unit picked up the remote's signal and started working again. I tried putting the remote back outside in the cold and the same thing happened. After about a half hour outside, the remote's signal quit and the inside base station was again displaying - - for the temp and humidity. So, this time, I brought it back in, waited for the signal to return from the remote, and put the remote out in the garage where it stays warmer - no lower than 30 degrees. And the base and remote have worked fine since. When it warms up outside, I will put the sensor back out. But fair warning - It appears that this unit is sensitive to cold temps and, at least my remote, quit working when the temp gets around 20 degrees and below. So, if you live further South where the temps don't get so cold, this unit should work fine for you. This product has amazing distance when the remote is working. I have a brick house and the base unit is on the East side of the house next to the far wall. The garage is on the west side of the house and the remote signal has to travel through a brick wall, go outside, and travel through another brick wall to get to the base. And since I put the remote in the warmer garage for now, it works fine. I like the quality of the unit - feels like it is worth the money. And the display is colorful and you can set how bright you want it to be. If it wasn't for the cold weather issue, it would definitely still be a 5-star review. Update on 12/13/24: I contacted the seller regarding my issue with the remote not working in very cold temperatures and the seller got right back to me. They are very easy to work with and solved my issue by sending me a new remote at no cost. I also didn't have to return the old remote that had issues in cold temps. The new remote works great in our very cold weather right now! I am including a photo showing that the remote is working fine sitting outside in 9 degree (F) weather. Earlier this morning, it was only 1 degree (F) showing on the base and it was up to 9 degrees when I took the picture. The seller was very gracious and I got the replacement remote in just a few days. It works great and I am a happy buyer and would definitely recommend buying any product that the seller has on the Amazon store.

Really Nice Weather Station Unit
My old weather station finally gave up the ghost so I needed to order another one. After looking at several different units and reading the customer reviews I decided upon this model and I am convinced I made a good choice. The unit is very easy to set up and install and it works great. The sensor unit is very easy to install on the outside of your home using and the main screen is large enough to see all the displayed information clearly but yet it's small enough to fit nicely on the night stand in my bedroom. The main display panel is very nicely organized, displays the information clearly, has a host of control buttons on the side of the panel that allows you to control and program the functions of the unit and the color display is really nice and very effective in making the data easy to see. The sensor uses 2 AA batteries and the main display screen has a plug in chord for main power as well as accepting 2 AA batteries as a backup power source. You can use it with just the batteries if you wish to but in this mode the main screen operates at "low" light intensity level. With the power chord the screen stays fully lit up, although you can adjust this setting and lower the lighting level from "high" to "low". At the "Low" setting you can still easily see the data but it won't light up your bedroom at night when your sleeping. I haven't used the "frost" alarm or "temp" alarm as I have no need for this but if you want to you can set both of those and the unit will give off an alarm if the temp settings you programmed in are reached. The barometric pressure, the moon phase, the actual inside and outside temperature is very accurate (I compared them to other sensors that I have). It comes with 1 outside sensor but if you can order and use up to 2 more sensors for a total of 3 sensors. I have no need of another sensor but that is a nice feature to have available. I really like this unit and am very impressed with it's function, appearance and performance.

Multi-measurement weather station for not much
I have had a few weather stations over the years, but moving into an apartment, I no longer need the full range: temperature, humidity, wind and rain. Temp and humidity is all I need now. This delivers that in an attractive package with a good, colorful screen. It also supports multiple (3) sensors though I only have one. Setup was pretty easy with one exception and there is one other slight issue that time seems to resolve. I have not been able to set up the automatic time from the NIST atomic clock. It’s supposed to start searching when you first switch the weather station on, but it never found a signal. I know this can be due to interference, but I’ve been able to do this with other devices. NBD really, it just means I have to manually set the clock. I’m not really using this device to tell the time anyway. The other slight glitch has been that the temperature displayed on the sensor and displayed on the monitor sometimes do not match. Again NBD since they are usually within a degree or so and most of the time they finally figure it out and show the same temperature. This also has indicators for whether temp and humidity are rising or falling, and a simplified weather forecasting that one has to take with a pinch of salt. Still, a good buy for the money

Great Purchase and Great Value Too!
This is a really great little weather station. I have been using for about 3 weeks and find it is accurate and easy to set up. Thanks Amazon reviewers for your useful opinions. The display is so easy to see and read. The only thing still not totally resolved is the forecast icon... it took abut a week to settle down ( which is what the manual said). Then it worked great for a while but then said It was going rain hard for a couple of days ( so wrong) but today is back to flashing which means its recalibrating. I really don't care too much about the forecast feature as I have great weather channels for that. Everything about this unit is what I wanted and needed and works great

Seems accurate.
5 stars for now. I just purchased this and so far it seems very accurate, was within a degree of 2 other thermometers I have. Barometer reads what the weather service says and the forecast icon seems accurate as well. I purchased this to replace one in our living room but after setting it up, oh my, the screen is a bit over the top for our liking. Temperature readings are prominent, which is good, time and barometer are difficult to read unless you're right by it. The forecast icon is kind of annoying (for us) with the flashing clouds etc. Even with some of the negative things I stated, I'm pretty happy with this weather station. I put this one in the garage and put my other, less obvious, thermometer in the house. I gave it 5 stars for now because it seems accurate. Time will tell on longevity but for the price point you can hardly go wrong. The thing to consider is whether or not you can live with the screen. It's pretty "loud", also time and other functions are difficult to read unless you're right by it. Temps are easy to read from across the room.

Excellent Customer Service
Bought this unit as a supplement to my analogue barometer. After a few months, the barometer reading changed drastically. I contacted Newentor Customer Support, and was assisted by, Rachel. She patiently, clearly, and professionally guided me through troubleshooting. In the end, it was determined the unit was failing for unknown reasons. She elected to replace the unit and no cost to me! I was amazed, and very much appreciated her help. Top notch service👍

Color/Accuracy Seems Fine, Design is Flawed when Hanging
I purchased this unit based on the great reviews and per several sites, top rating among all weather stations. The good is that it is simple to set up, the color screen is vivid and can be seen across a room, and it syncs with the outside unit fairly quickly. Instructions are well written and easy to follow. Two negatives that I've seen after hanging it on the wall. First, when I initially set it up, the time synced with the WWVB very quickly. I then changed outlet and it it resetting itself, it never set the time again. I had to do it manually which I refer not to do or why else have the WWVB. In all fairness, it syncs overnight, so I will check it the next day. The second and biggest thing which several have commented on, is trying to hang it straight based on how the cord plugs in and hangs. Very poor design. The plug should be on the bottom so that the cord hangs straight down and, for those setting it on a table/counter, it should have an inset so that the plug is reset and doesn't interfere with sitting on a surface. With the plug on the side it immediately hangs off level, with the side of the plug handing lower. Plus, the plug does not sit in the back in a manner that allows it to hang straight. As mentioned in other posts, it adds to the back of the station, making it sit outward and uneven as you look left to right. There should be an inset so the the plug is embedded into the back and not have to sit outwardly. The two ways to overcome this (which you shouldn't have to do to an item that is highly rated and designed ineffectively) is first have your nail/hook/screw hang a little more outwardly so that it sits more even back to front. Then, with the cord, after you set the unit on the nail, loop the cord around the nail so that it then hangs down straight from the back, directly down to the outlet, offsetting the right side, enabling it to hang straight, left to right. But, to do this, you must have it hang directly above your outlet. Or, like I saw in a picture, somehow directly to the left of an outlet so that the cord goes directly from the back to the right as you face it. I'll see if it sits straight and if the WWVB picks up overnight, otherwise, will return. Maybe after reading several of these posts with the same issue, they may make a design change.

Fool proof purchase. Achat sans le moindre souci.
For the record, I currently own 3 AcuRite weather stations and 2 same Newentor weather stations as well. This permits me to evaluate to the best of my knowledge these handy devices. Concerning the Newentor's, they exceeded my expectations considering the affordable price. Take note that at precisely 1H00 AM, 2H00 AM and 3H00 AM, the weather station will synchronize (blacked out display) with the atomic time. This process takes exactly 7 minutes. Viewing the detailed and colorful display will depend on the angle of view. This is normal with all makes of weather stations. Longevity and reliability is being closely monitored and now have 3 months of use on both of them. Be sure to place sensor in spot were no precipitations and direct sunlight reaches it. I personally use a just 1 sandwich bag with rubber bands to protect it from the elements. Humidity readings might affected, but this can be compensated by checking the weather channel reading, and add or subtract for conversion on your weather station. Replace batteries every year, otherwise if they leak, they will destroy your sensor. Only complaints, are the numbers for the time and date are small, and flashing clouds could be annoying. Personally, I got used too it and really not such a big issue on the long run. Personnellement, je me suis finalement habitué. Toutefois, veuillez considérer toutes les informations transmis sur ce "grand" écran. André.

Poor Customer Service, good weather station
Only got 3 stars because of the service, not the product. It’s a great weather station but they sent the wrong mains cable. I needed one for the UK. I tried contacting them but got no response. I kept the station because I can use it with batteries.

My own private weather station and it works too
When I grew up in Rotterdam in the Netherlands we has a barometer in the hallway. I am in Singapore largely because of the cold weather in Holland. The Dutch fought and 80 year war with the Spanish. The Spanish soldiers stared dying of pneumonia, and a rich variety of respiratory diseases. The Spanish soldiers felt this piece of wet swampland is not worth fighting for. And eventually they left. The barometer in our hallway predicted the weather in coming days and did so reliably. High air pressure signals good weather and low air pressure the opposite. And this product does a great job predicting the weather. Additionally it has thermometer and now I can see what Global warming actually does in terms of raising the ambient temperature. Frightening. Praying for a CO2 scavenger to be invented with a huge appetite.

I found it difficult to set up. It sometimes, for no apparent reason, goes black even while connected to power. The temperature indications are good. The moon phases appear inaccurate. Did not seem to connect to daylight saving
