I have seen this product all over the internet and I finally caved and honestly I’m really glad i bought it. It was very easy to use, and even has two options on the metal plate for different types of door latches. I was worried at first because when I took it out of the box and first tried it my door didn’t shut all the way but then I just flipped the red lock around to the other side and the other hole worked perfectly. I even pulled the door pretty hard when it was unlocked and it didn’t budge at all. I wouldn’t fully rely on this as your ONLY form of protection for your house but it is definitely a great additive for security.

**Q: Has anyone tried kicking a door in with this installed to test?**
A: No, this device will not prevent a door from being kicked in. It will prevent the door from being opened in the event that an intruder picks the lock, has a key, or otherwise overcomes the lock and handle. It does the same thing as a door chain, and they don’t prevent kicking in either. Kicking in a door means the latch breaks the door frame out of the wall, and anything else on that door frame, including door chains or this device, will come apart with the door frame. A security bar will be more effective at resisting being kicked in.

I bought this for my solo trips and to use it at home since I live with roomies and like to feel safe. It works at the hotels that I visited these past couple weeks but it doesn’t fit the lock at my house. That was a little disappointing. Still good for travel, lightweight and small size
