I did put a paste polish on them before I wore them for the first time and they look great! However, by the end of the day, my feet were clammy and socks were damp. This does not happen to me in leather shoes. The style is great, the look is great, I love the color but I won't wear shoes that are plastic uppers.Edit to post: 4/11/17 I sat down again with these shoes tonight with the object of boxing them up, bagging them to send them back to Amazon. HOWEVER: When I inspected tgem once more, I changed my mind. These ARE leather uppers, pigskin I think. And what's more, while the insoles are nanmade, they are sculped and well padded with a good arch. The liner is supple leather, mostly, except for the heel. They are stylish and comfortable. They fit perfectly a true 8.5. I am on standing in these most of the time when I wear them and have had no aches or pains associated with them.
