Gorilla Double Sided Mounting Tape

This tape has serious holding power. I used it for a heavy power strip under a desk and some framed signs, and none of it has slipped at all. It grabs instantly and takes weight really well. Just a heads up: peeling the red plastic backing off is mildly frustrating, and this stuff will rip paint or drywall if you try to pull it off later. Use it on smooth, solid surfaces where you plan to leave things permanently, and it works exactly as advertised.

Been a couple weeks now, still holding strong. Blink Cameras on after-market mounts that fell off the wall after 1-2 yrs. Hopefully, this tape will outlast what came on those mounts! Used a box cutter, and like many of the other reviews, it's a liittle difficult getting the backing off but not as hard as others I've used in the past. Would buy again (but it will probably be a while, we can hope)!

One Roll Has Saved Me More Times Than I Can Count This is one of those products I refuse to be without. I keep a roll on hand because it’s amazing how often it solves a problem without having to drill a hole, drive a screw, or make something permanent. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. The tape was easy to cut, the backing peeled off cleanly, and the adhesive is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Gorilla—once it’s in place, it’s not going anywhere. I’ve used it to mount accessories, secure small items, keep things from rattling, and even for projects where I wanted a clean look without visible hardware. The key is taking a minute to clean the surface first and applying firm pressure. Do that, and the bond is incredibly strong. I also appreciate that one roll lasts much longer than you’d expect because you rarely need a large piece. A few inches usually does the job. This isn’t the cheapest mounting tape you’ll find, but it’s one of those products where paying a little more actually saves money in the long run. Sticks great once you get the protective film off. It was difficult to get the film off. I tried fingernail, razor blade, scissors. Once you get the corner started, after trying for 10 minutes, it strips off the rest of the tape fine. Maybe it was because it sat in the shop when the temperature was over 100º; don't know.

Even after retiring from teaching, I still appreciate tools that make small home repairs less fussy. I bought this roll for my son after he wanted to secure a small power strip beneath his workbench without drilling into the wood. We wiped the surface, cut a short piece, and pressed it in place. When he plugged in his drill later that afternoon, the strip stayed put, which made me glad I chose this roll. I could handle the one-inch width easily, and 120 inches gives you enough for several little jobs. It feels stout, so I would save it for things I want to stay put, rather than items I move each week. We have not tested the full 30-pound claim, but it has held neatly for that workbench task.

Bought this for my dorm room because the cords under my desk kept catching my feet. I used a short piece to hold a small cable holder in place. I cut the tape with scissors, pressed it down, and it grabbed right away. After a week of rolling my chair around, the holder still stays put, which is exactly what I wanted. The roll is wide and long, so I have plenty left for other little fixes. It feels thick and makes a strong bond, so I’d think carefully before using it on painted walls. Glad I bought it before my desk area got any messier.

Ok, maybe it will work but maybe it won't....we will see and I will update in 3 months. The accompanying videos and the package advertising are somewhat misleading compared to the actual instructions. The video advertisement shows two concrete cinder blocks being held together by this tape leading one to believe it has incredible hold. Yet another advertisement photo shows the tape holding up an outside porch light attached to the brick of the house. Wonderful, right? This tape has to be super strong. The packaging even says that it will stick and hold up to 60 pounds of weight and stick to concrete, brick and metal as long as the surface is flat. Rough is ok as long as the surface is flat and level. Again, this is ALL super....maybe too good to be true? THEN, you read the instructions on the package or maybe it should be called "the fine print". The fine print says, "1 inch of tape equals 1 pound of weight". What???? *&!#*!!!! Ok, I am needing to mount a security camera to the top edge of the outside stucco wall of the house, close to the eve. The mounting plate is a round metal magnet such that one side attaches to the upper wall of the house and the other side mounts the camera. The mounting plate is circular and about 3" in diameter. The camera weighs about 6 pounds. There is no way to get more than 3.75" of tape on the mounting plate. The mounting plate itself weighs about 6-8 oz itself. So, per the instructions, the tape will hold about 3.75 pounds tops, versus an item that weighs almost 6.5 pounds. Well, I put it up and I am holding my breadth that the camera does not come crashing down. Frankly, there is not a lot of apparent difference in the stickiness and texture of this tape versus the 3M tape and the camera came tumbling down after 3 days with the 3M tape. Gorilla goes to great lengths to paint the picture that their tape is superior and I am hoping they are right. However, I think the tapes design of 1" of tape equals 1 pound of weight" should be in bold in the package advertising as that is a HUGE Condition to get to 60 pounds of holding power. Literally, it would take 60 inches of tape to equal 60 pounds of weight--that is 1/2 the roll and can you imagine what that would look like! So, the jury is still out on this. I will update this review in 90 days with great news or bad. I am rating it 3 stars due to the fine print of "1 inch of tape equals 1 pound of weight" and the uncertainty of its hold versus the items weight on a concrete wall. Additionally, it is tough to get the film off the tape to make the final stick. You will need dry hands, fingernails and a lot of patience. I had to get my wife to do it. Lastly, it is pricey at $12 per roll (small). If it works, I am fine with the price. If it doesn't, it is $12 too much. Good luck!

To help my daughter organize her craft corner, I picked up this Gorilla mounting tape. I used a short piece to hold a lightweight plastic cable clip beside her desk, and it stayed in place through an afternoon of crafting. I was glad not to hunt for screws, and the roll is handy to keep in the drawer. 🙂

Works really well for sticking mirror tiles onto brick!

I used two strips to attach outdoor solar lights onto an old wooden fence. Three strips onto a brick wall. It feels like it doesn’t glue flush to the surface but it does stay up really well - none of it came off until I scraped it off (came off easily). I reused the same tape without cleaning up (some dirt and wooden splits are visible) and it still holds up good on the fence! Reused one fell down from a brick wall but I’m not surprised. It held up very well outside in Canadian winter too. Highly recommend!

しっかり耐熱性もあり、しっかり色んな物を固定出来ていい。 まぁ木の柱に電源タップを固定に使ったが、強固で日差しで暑い部屋でも大丈夫。 更に車で、電装品の固定も大丈夫。
