JACO Lightning S-Series Tire Air Chuck - 1/4" F-NPT (Open Flow) (2-Pack)

For a 1 man DIY shop, this thing is amazing. You have to squeeze the release button to put it on the valve stem because it fits that tight. Very little effort to attach or remove and looses no air when removing. Seals tight the first try and coupled with the Astrovi digital inflator, its a game changer checking tires. No more squinting to see the scale on a used and dirty tire gauge that looses air when you try to get it on straight. I tend to hand these out to a few friends for Christmas.

Used this to upgrade the inconvenient screw on style chuck that came on my Smittybilt offroad 12v compressor. Huge improvement! Had to also order a 1/4 npt barbed fitting for the hose, however that may not be necessary for everyone if you've already got a 1/4 fitting to attach to. This open flow chuck allows me to turn the compressor on and leave it running while I check air pressure with a guage since most 12v portable compressor don't have a pressure switch to shut them off when pressure builds. If the psi in the tire isn't quite there, just push the chuck back on the valve stem and keep filling. With this chuck you just push it on to the valve stem and it locks on automatically, no need to press the button and hope it locks on tight enough. The only time you need to touch the botton on the chuck is to release it. Its very easy to press on with zero air leak. Solid feel, and has some weight to it. They have a bigger model that might have been even nicer for a few bucks more.

Works exactly as described...easily pushes onto valve and easy removal with 0.00-0.10 air loss. No fidgeting to maintain air input. Attaches to valve stem without having to hold it in place.

Very sturdy you can tell from the weight of each one that it’s not a cheap plastic thing I bought an adapter to attach this to my portable air compressor and it works perfectly no more screwing and unscrewing the hose fitting to the tire valve They lock on the tire valve with a push of the button and the same thing to release and they don’t leak air while attached or when you’re moving it to the next tire I recommend this

Bought this to use with my new car tire pressure inflator / gauge. Works perfectly. Never leaks. There is an open flow version and a closed flow version. Just make sure you select the correct one for your application

Meh, so so. 2.5 Stars --Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. It is very valve specific. Sometimes I have to hold them in place, of which defeats the purpose. But other times they clip on and work great. It just depends on the stem. Update 11/22/2025 JACO reached out and offered a refund. Sounds like a company that actually cares. I declined a refund as I do still use the product, but would accept a new part. Either way, I accept the fact that the return window has closed and JACO has zero obligation to me for a refund at this point as far as I am concerned. I did not realize they have a lifetime warranty...Nice.. upgrading my review to 4 stars...Nice to have companies that stand by their products!

I love this thing. I don't care for the screw on inflators as they are sort of a pain particularly if it's cold outside. They also lose air as you're unscrewing them. The other style with the lever or whatever are even worse for me. I've read reviews that they lose less air but I have the opposite experience. Often I've had to struggle to pull them off all while air is escaping. I read about this product and was skeptical. But I suffer from sporadic optimism so I ordered this as well as the connector (Milton S-684-4 1/4" MNPT Male Tank Valve) so I'm able to attach it to my screw on style tire inflator (ETENWOLF Vortex S7 Tire Inflator). My first attempt did not go well. I screwed the connector into the chuck but only hand tightened them. Leaked air like crazy. Then I properly connected them using actual tools and even added some plumbers tape for good measure. Perfectly air tight. You just push it on and to remove you just depress the button. A tiny bit of air escapes when you depress the button but it's negligible. If you've ever been frustrated with the standard types this is for you. Also since it just attaches straight into the tire stem with no lever or anything hanging off of it you don't have to try different positions to find the best position. I love this thing, for me it's a game changer.

I never realized an air chuck could be so easy to use! Nice snug fit and they seem very sturdy, 2 should last me a long time. I got tired of battling to get a good seal with normal air chucks but these grip right on and are quick to realease when you're done.
