You can chop with your cutting board over the edge of a table or hold the knife from the top. **Q: How long is the handle?** A: The handle is 5 inches long. **Q: I own the 8" chef's already. Is this 6 inch the same shape as the 8 inch chef knife? Can it rock back and forth on the cutting board?** A: I own another brand 8 inch that isn't Victorinox but no you will not be able to rock it back and forth.
