Asia Trans Dried Louisiana Large Shrimp - Hawaiian Favorite - Fresh-Caught & Dehydrated for Snacks, Asian Seafood Salad, Pad Thai, or Soup

I grew up eating dried shrimp from Hawaii's local company. Sadly, when I moved away from Hawai'i it I would only be able to get these snacks from family care packages. When I found it on Amazon I had to order it. Though it is a bit pricey, it is not much different than buying it from a store in Hawai'i. It was delivered undamaged and taste wonderful. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Finally had things quiet down enough so I could use them. To my taste, they were superior to the run of the mill dried shrimp I was able to get else where. The taste and the texture worked well with my recipe. I will purchase them again. From the emails from them, they want you to like their product and I had the impression that they would react to concerns (which I had none!). I know from buying fresh Louisiana shrimp from my "Fish Monger , Capt John and his First Mate Joy they in my opinion have a better taste and texture than the overseas farm grown.

I had these delivered on, 2022, February 15. I used them mostly to add to my ramen. I would sometimes snack on them right out of the bag as well. Since I ordered the pack of six, I stopped eating them for a while. (Things to note about the packaging. It appears sealed, there is no oxygen absorber, no expiration date, and it is not vacuum sealed). Less than a month later they have gone bad. My last two bags were unopened. After eating half of one bag I noticed they didn't taste as they had before. Upon closer inspection I noticed some looked kind of white. I assumed that was the salt. Looking even closer I realized it was mold. It was the fuzzy discolored patches that old food grows. I ate moldy f$&%ing shrimp. I ate that on March 11th in the evening and began not to feel well. I woke up early March 12th not feeling good and fell back asleep. I woke up in the late afternoon to feeling like I had a migraine and was nauseous. I made a sandwich to eat (everything was fresh). I slowly began getting feverish chills, my headache was worsening, and I was throwing up. This went on for the rest of the evening. Here it is early morning March 13th and I still feel ill. TLDR; the shrimp have no expiration date and poor packaging. Buyer beware of food-born illness. The lighting sucks but there's moldy patches.

Good but are very salty and super super chewy !! Don’t plan on kissing anybody or being to close to someone because these will have your breathe smelling like a old seafood buffet !!

They taste delicious in my smothered okra but I wish there was more in the pack. Overpriced!

These dried shrimp are yummy! I add them to ramen noodle soup and eat them right out of the bag. Just finishing my second order and plan to always keep these dried shrimp 🍤 handy for adding flavor to numerous dishes.

Bought this as a last minute thing and couldn’t have been happier with my purchase. Needed this for a dish and couldn’t find it anywhere else. Great taste and quality!

Contrary to the product pictures, this DOES contain sodium bisulfite. The product pictures with the ingredients list are now outdated as of April 2020. I specifically dished out the extra money for a more natural alternative of dried shrimp WITHOUT sodium bisulfite, only to find that the bag I received looks *almost* identical to the listing online (which were probably of older, not updated packaging) EXCEPT for the part where it clearly says that it contains sodium bisulfite. So if you're contemplating purchasing this product because you think it's more natural, for twice as much as other dried shrimps on Amazon also with sodium bisulfite, you may want to reconsider.
