Great value, comfort, firm enough for fuller figured people, PAIN relief!
I absolutely love my bed! I purchased this after I herniated discs in my back and was in pain. My old mattress was at least 15 years and aggravated my arthritis. I was disappointed because my mattress showed up 2days early. Most people would have been happy about that but my medical condition prevented me from bringing it in the house, my aunt is a senior and she dragged in in with the furniture dolly. That was my only issue because Iโm currently unable to lift more than 10lbs. I had to wait 2 days until help came to put it on my bed. (That was an Amazon issue and shouldnโt be reflected in the mattress performance) This mattress had me wake up from my a full nights sleep which I havenโt had in months. I awoke to less pain in my spine and hips. I didnโt have a pimp limp from my arthritic hips and I could walk with major pain reduction. I was on steroids, muscle relaxers, pain meds, and heating pad (several times daily until I burned the heating pad up) and started physical therapy on 12/28/20 which didnโt reduce the pain like my new bed. Iโm so happy because Iโm attributing my healing to this mattress and resting. I would go on television to promote this brand of bed. Like a previous customer indicated in their review โ this bed is the devilโ, which is true because I can now sleep 6-12 hours and I also missed phone calls, alarms, family member hog calling me for breakfast or dinner lol๐. I am now becoming a hermit just so I can go be in my bed. My dogs, a 88 lb. Belgian Malinois, a 13 lb Jack Russell terrier love sleeping in my new bed ๐. My Malinois wonโt sleep in his new bed I bought after Christmas at Sams Club which is also memory foam and comfortable (I laid on his bed before he did lol). My Jack Russell terrier doesnโt like to get out of bed! She had survived a dog attack and has arthritis and muscle pain but she runs around like a teenager or pup again. Iโm a plus size full figured woman well under the 600 lb limit even with dogs on the bed and it springs back to shape after I get off every time. The sides arenโt as firm as I expected but Iโm comfortable on any area. I did sink in a little bit but not like one customer stated, it wasnโt a lot but it was firm enough to stop and conform to my body. I can say this mattress can support heavier body types and still provide comfort with support. I purchased a different brand of topper,4 inch cooling memory gel infused which provided coolness and I havenโt been hot because of the mattress but from the dogs body heat. The cooling topper was even comfortable and provided relief from pain because it came a week before the mattress and it was a true blessing from god. Donโt be afraid to buy this mattress because Iโm blown away with the quality, price, pain relief, and comfort. In fact I felt like I was stealing from them. My arthritis is moderate in severity with more degradation in my thoracic region and the L3, L4,and L 5 are herniated, my left hip making me limp. I can now sleep on my left hip and not worry that I will have trouble walking. I will update my review in a few months. Iโm VERY happy and grateful that Iโm feeling better physically from pain. Thank you Amazon and Zinus.

A very nice mattress and not much of a risk at the price
I have had this mattress close to month and I love it! This is my first memory foam mattress and I came from a much, much more expensive Sleep Number bed. I loved my Sleep Number, but it was losing air and the pump seemed to be the culprit. I checked everything I could, but I did not locate an issue and this seemed a common problem. Instead of spending a few hundred dollars on a new pump, I bought this mattress on the recommendation of a friend. I was also impressed with the number of reviews. I opened this mattress in our guest room and let it sit for a couple days. I did not find the smell strong or terrible. I expect an odor with most things and this did not seem abnormal. As far as inflating, after two days it was at 11" but I did not care it was not at the full 12". I am aware the instructions indicated, "Mattresses on average take 48 to 72 hours to decompress and sometimes in special cases up to a week to return to its original, plush shape." It may be at 12" now, but I don't care enough to measure. The first few days I slept on this mattress I thought I made a mistake. I slept terribly and was sore all over. It seemed like every muscle hurt and I had a headache. I quickly discovered I no longer needed two pillows because I was sinking into this bed a bit. This did not happen on my previous bed. I'm a side sleeper and I kept my Sleep Number quite firm so I needed two pillows to keep my neck aligned. One pillow resolved the issue, but I was still sore all over and woke a lot for at least a very miserable week. All of a sudden it seemed like I got used to it and I sleep like a baby. As I mentioned, I like a firm mattress so I was really worried about memory foam. I sit up in this bed and read with no issue. I also sleep without issue and do not feel like I am sagging with too little support. The top layer is very soft memory foam that adjusts to your contour, but the layers beneath provide the essential support for me. I definitely sleep hot, but I have not noticed if this foam holds too much heat. I have watched videos that show it does hold heat, but I have not had any issue so far. However, I like a cool room so I make sure it is cool enough. We had cool nights most of the time I had this mattress so I never woke hot. The last couple nights have been unusually warm, but that means I have my room air conditioner keeping the room a nice 68 degrees. The only things I have not got used to, but are not issues, are the lack of vibration when moving and how much different it is to roll over. The memory foam holds me in place and I need to pry myself out of the mold (a little exaggeration there to illustrate how I see it). I used to just bounce or roll on the Sleep Number because I had it so firm. I purchased a twin size Casper mattress for my daughter a couple years ago and it cost almost twice as much as this mattress. I almost purchased a queen size Casper at close to $1,000 because I thought you needed to spend that much for a good memory foam mattress. I am glad I didn't do that and I am so pleased how comfortable the Zinus is and how little it cost. This was one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. The only thing I do not know yet is how well this will hold up over the years. However, I do not care if this mattress only lasts a few years because at this price I can replace it more frequently than I normally would. And just for comparison purposes, I did not get ten years out of my Sleep Number bed before it started losing air and it was expensive.

Perfect mattress - even for person with major spine issues / herniated disc!
I was skeptical, but this is the PERFECT mattressโฆ even for person with MAJOR spine impairments! ๐ I bought it for my momโs guest room so that I had a good mattress to sleep on when I visited her for 2 weeks. I visit her a few times a year, so I didnโt hesitate spending a few hundred - since the old soft matress in her guest room absolutely KILLED my back the last time I visited her! ๐ข MY BACKGROUND: I had a failed back surgery (L5-S1 artificial disc replacement) ๐ฉ in 2015 and resulting WORSE spine issues including degenerative discs, a herniated disc, facet arthrosis, scoliosis, & spondylosis. NEEDLESS to say I DO NOT recommend lumbar artificial disc replacement surgery. ๐ฌ Unfortunately, I had to quit my job & go on disability. ๐ข And I canโt really travel anymore because of my pain in cars and due to the uncertainty of mattresses at hotels. Anyway, long story shortโฆ I can only sleep on a VERY specific type of mattress. It has to be reasonably firm / supportive of my fragile unstable spine, yet reasonably soft on top as I am mostly a side sleeper (sometimes back). For my own house, I tried 5 different expensive mattress through Macys and other stores & returned them all as they caused pain / didnโt effectively support my spine. I finally ended up buying an AMAZING tempurpedic hybrid (medium firmness) proadapt mattress for my house, which I also HIGHLY recommend - literally best decision of my life, (but only if you have $6,000 to spend)! ๐ฅบ I opened a credit card. Iโd rate my temperpedic a 10/10 and the Zinus 12 Inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress a strong 9/10! ๐คฉ Slept like a rock, and best of all when I woke up I was not in debilitating pain to the point I could hardly walk or move. And my elderly mother was able to remove it from the box and put it on the bed herself! The only thing keeping me from rating it a 10 is that after a week, there was a small indentation/ compression spot where I slept. However, somehow (surprisingly) it didnโt change the comfort level or cause any back pain. SO JUST BUY IT - it is freaking AMAZING for the price, support, and comfort. And comparable to a very expensive tempurpedic mattess. Thank you to this WONDERFUL company. ๐๐๐ป PS. Also, if you are still hesitant, the return policy with amazon is great! I did an online chat with amazon and was told that I could return the mattress and wouldnโt have to try and fit it back in the box. They said I would just have to call Amazon about the return and set up a pick up date for them to come pick up the unwrapped matress from my moms house. U can even ask them yourself through the online chat (take screen shots so u have proof!) Itโs a no brainer to try this matress out! Your welcome. LOL ๐คฃ

So far so good. ****Updated Review after a month or more of use
I ordered this item on 1-27-2018 it arrived on 1-29-2018 with my prime membership. I opened and laid it out on top of a guest room bed to inflate. In 4 hours it appeared to be fully inflated. However packing info says wait 24-48 hours before using to allow proper time to inflate. I did however break down and climb on to see how it feels. I am on a pillow top mattress currently that is roughly 6-8 years old and has been causing me a lot of pain in my shoulder and hip as I am a side sleeper. Just laying on this bed for a few minutes its much firmer than my current bed, and so very comfortable. I will leave a more through review once I have actually slept in it for a few nights. I can say I am very excited. I plan to put it on my current box springs, and we will see how it goes. I was a bit disappointed to realize you cant flip the mattress only rotate it, which is what I have currently with my terrible pillow top . and I like to flip my mattresses every month. I will also state that when I unrolled it I was really worried about it forming its natural state as it had a lot of weird lumps from packing, but it has formed to a normal mattress already on a cursory view of it on my way out the door today. I will better inspect it when moving it to my actual bed. Update!! I have been sleeping on this mattress for about a week now. I will say one night I did get very warm, however I don't think it was my mattress I tend to run hot and cold and occasionally has the same issue with my old pillow top. This mattress is shockingly firm when you first sit or lay on it you think oh Hell No! But within second the memory foam begins to contour to your body and it's very comfortable. I am a side sleeper and was having alot of hip pain with my old mattress. While my pain isn't gone it's much better, and I think it will go away given more time with this new bed. My review is definitely a positive one. For 179$ and arriving in 2 days I'm very pleased. Included are 3 photos the last photo shows me sitting on the edge of the bed showing how much it goes down with my weight, and that I don't know why people say you can't sit on the sides I can't sit on any side any corner no issues... and even with my weight it springs right back to shape once I move or get up, it also still provides comfort and support this bed is rated up to 500lbs! Which thankfully I am not! ********* Updated Review*********** I have been sleeping on this bed for over a month now, and wanted to update my thoughts. My hip and shoulder were in ALOT of pain when I bought my new mattress. I couldn't barely walk around during the day from the pain, now I am fully recovered and I credit my bed for this. If you are on a budget and cant spend 500-1000$ on a new mattress I greatly recommend this item. If you are plus sized and worried about it don't be this bed is tested for 500lbs and as a big girl myself I sleep amazing on it with my HUGE dog and cat. I feel more rested and relaxed waking than I have in at least 5 years.

I love this bed. I finally look forward to laying down to sleep!
I bought the 12" memory foam 'green tea' bed and all I can seem to say lately is... oh bed, I love you. I was used to sleeping on a very old tempur bed that had been breaking down over the past year. it was basically like sleeping on a hot lumpy sponge and I was waking up with a sore back after only about 4 hours of sleep. So I decided to upgrade myself. I did my research, spent three days talking to mattress stores, reading reviews and talking to people who had bought different beds. I tested beds, I checked prices, I looked at options, everything. I wanted to make sure I was buying a good bed that wouldn't leave me in agony like my old bed. I knew two people who'd bought beds from this company. So, I looked at all the options they offered and what they were made of and how people reviewed them. I ended up choosing the 12 inch memory foam green tea one. The price was right, and shipping wasn't terrible. I expected to get my bed in about a week... which would give me time to prepare to set it up. I got my bed in about 3 days from the point I submitted my order. I decided not to buy the bedframe they offer, as I still had my box from my last mattress. I kinda wish I'd bought their frame, as it sits higher than my current frame, but that's beside the point. I got everything set and ready to go, and opened my box. My mother laughed at the fact that a bed came in that small of a box and she was skeptical of it's quality. I was a bit cautious, but felt confident in my choice. The bed is a bit difficult to get out of the box, and then the bag that it comes in. I can't see anyone being able to do so alone. once out of it's shipping bag, it's still sealed and fairly easy to just situate on the frame before opening. I highly recommend you don't unseal the mattress until you have it where you want it. once I cut into the plastic seal wrap, it instantly started to 'inflate' again. got the plastic pulled off of it and watched as within moments it was already filling out. There was barely any smell to it at all. I left my window cracked open just a bit that night just in case, but honestly, unless I had pressed my face up against it, I couldn't smell anything from it. I followed the instructions that came with it (yes, they send you instructions and care information) and I let it be for the remainder of that day, that night, and the following day. In total I think I left it just lay there and settle for about 30 hours. I'm extremely glad I did because it allowed the foam to expand to 11.75 inches. I wasn't gonna complain about the loss of a quarter of an inch. So i finally got to lay down on my bed! The top layer of the bed is so nice and squishy that you don't even take notice that there's hard foam in the base layers. this nice super squishy top layer of foam makes the bed totally conform to you. the layer just under that is the typical memory foam, so even after the squishy foam sinks in, you've got regular memory foam to support you. If you sit on the edge it does sink in (but that's perfectly normal of any sort of foam edge) but as soon as you get up you can see it just fluff right back up. it's actually kinda fun to push down on it and watch how quick it recovers. you can kinda 'see' where the layers are when you look at the side. It comes with a nice cover, but when you're first looking it over, some of the layers aren't cut exactly to match at the sides. this didn't trouble me as once the sheets were on, you can't even tell. Oh yeah... for the 12 inch, buy deep pocket sheets. I got sheets with pockets up to 14", and they fit just perfectly. I'm a side and back sleeper... so having a bad bed is like a cruel form of daily torture. This bed... oh man, this bed is great for side and back sleeping. I've gained over an hour of restful sleep each night, and I find I don't toss and turn as much. . my dog even loves this bed. she has her own bed to sleep on, but I still find her constantly sleeping in a corner of my bed. For the first time in years I find myself falling asleep in one position, and waking up hours later in the same position. I get up in the morning without back pain. I nearly cried that first morning when I got up and could just walk out of my room without being hunched over or limping from my back being so sore. It's been glorious to just simply get up and walk off without any pain. These days I have more issues waking up with 'dead arm' from sleeping on one side for too long... a problem I haven't had in years because my mattress kept me tossing all night. This bed also breathes so much better. My tempur bed usually left me sweaty as it just radiated my body heat back at me so I'd wake up sweltering. In summer I'd change out my sheets, make my bed and for about 5 months, I wouldn't even sleep in the bed because I needed the blankets and comforter under me to keep the bed from getting so hot. This bed doesn't have that issue. while it's still foam, it doesn't trap the heat in. Makes a huge difference in sleep quality when the temperature stays fairly regulated. I find myself looking forward to laying on my bed each night. I sleep better and for longer intervals. I wake up with less pain in my body. I sleep on my sides without the constant ache in my hip from pressure. I'm not as exhausted as I have been in the past because I'm getting better sleep at night now. Seriously, I've recommended this mattress to many people already. it was so easy to buy, sets up without too much difficulty (with two people unpacking it) and it sleeps wonderfully. It's been a month now and I have absolutely no regrets with buying this bed. In fact, I'm hoping that they still make this bed when I need a new one, because I'd buy another one without hesitation.

Great Mattress! No gross odors, just the smell of Green Tea
I was a little concerned when I bought this because I've never bought a bed online. But I didn't have much luck with the last one I bought at a store, so I figured I'd try something else. I was also a little concerned because of some of the bad reviews. I also read some really good reviews, so I thought I'd take a chance. I also ordered the platform base, and because I don't have a lot of extra room for a queen size bed to poof up, I set the platform up in the living room and just put the mattress on top while it came to size. I let it sit for about 36 hours before moving it into the room to sleep on. The smell of the mattress is one thing that I noticed a lot of people complaining about. I noticed the green tea smell when I opened the box. It didn't overwhelm my living room, and I didn't open any windows while the mattress sat there. After I moved the bed into the bedroom, I slept great. The first night I tossed and turned a little but I think its because I was going from a pillow top to memory foam which is quite a big change. I slept great, but just tossed and turned. During the moments I wasn't tossing and turning, I slept like a baby. The next few nights, I slept great. No tossing and turning or anything. It's SOOOOOO comfy! I noticed when I'd have the door closed all night, if I'd leave the room and walk back in, there was a unique smell. To me, it wasn't a nasty smell, but it was odd, and I wasn't sure what it was. I asked my mom to smell it, because she mentioned that Green Tea has a pretty unique smell. She came over and smelled it and said it WAS the smell of green tea. I have a feeling that maybe this is the smell people have been complaining about, not realizing it was the smell of the Green Tea. I've had the bed up in my room for about a week, and I don't smell it anymore. It was only the first couple days, and it was when the door was closed for an extended period of time. I'm hoping anyone who is skeptical about buying this, will read this, and not get turned away by the other posts saying it smelled horrible. I saw one post on here with pictures that their mattress showed up all moldy and gross. I'm going to account that to the fact that when a company is producing tons of products, a few here and there will end up messed up in some way or another. I think this is a great mattress, its VERY comfy, and well worth the price!! I've never paid such a low price for a bed unless I was getting the quality that came with such a low price. This bed is great, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Update after 2 years sleeping on the Zinus 12 inch memory foam green tea mattress
I have now been sleeping on this mattress over 2 years and wanted to tell people how much I still love this mattress. It's still just as if it were new. I have read how some people say it's hot when they sleep but what I do when it gets warm out I put A quilt below the bottom sheet and it keeps it from getting to warm when I sleep. It still firm yet plush and shows really no signs of ware and i'm still sleeping as good as I did when I first bought it, and it's a very deep sleep. I would buy it again if this one ware's out but that might be awhile as I said before over two years and it's like brand new still... I reviewed memory foam mattress's for over a year before taking the plunge and decided to try the Zinus 12 inch green tea memory foam mattress.First off i'm not receiving anything for this review i'm a 200lb Electrician from california and if you get hot with this mattress as i have at times i put a quilt under the mattress pad end of problem. One of the reviews i read pick this as their top budget buy and at the time i purchased it Amazon's price was 25 dollars less then the Zinus website. The only thing wrong with this mattress is it's caused me to have to buy a much louder alarm clock because i sleep so sound i've slept through my old one. After over 3 months it is just as good as the first night. My friend has a Tempur Pedic that he paid 7 times the price of the Zinus and thinks this is just as comfortable (and at first he wouldn't even try it-lol) As soon as i got it i opened it up on top of the old mattress and i could have slept on it that night but gave it 24 hours as recommended, there was no adverse smell what so ever and you had to bury your face in it to really smell anything at all.Do yourself a favor if your thinking about it, stop don't let the price fool you this is an excellent mattress and you will thank yourself (and me) when it arrives. I would and will purchase Zinus mattress's again and have recommended them to many of my friends and family... Update November 2018: Well It's been almost a year now and even though i haven't rotated the mattress every 90 days as recommended (i haven't rotated it at all yet) there's no indentation or sagging at all, and it's just as comfortable as when i first slept on it. If and when i need buy another one i think i will get the gell mattress as they say they are much cooler, but i just put a quilt under the sheet in the summer and it's been just fine. I still recommend this mattress highly it's been the best mattress I've ever slept on and the price is as good as you'll find for a new memory foam mattress of this quality. The combination of foams (base, support, and two comfort) adds up to a mildly firm mattress with a plush feel it's wierd but it's firm and plush...If your still undecided don't be buy it and you won't regret it after an entire year the only complaint i still have is having to get a louder alarm clock to wake me from the deep sleep i'm in....Greg....California

Health risk: mattress sheds fiberglass through its cover! Product should be banned!
I've been a Prime member for a long time and have never received a product that I felt a real need to write a negative review for UNTIL I received this Zinus mattress. Long story short: this mattress sheds fiberglass THROUGH THE COVER (you don't have to remove the cover for this to happen). It's a health risk and should be recalled and banned from being sold in the US! Please don't make the mistake of buying this - it's cheap and may feel comfortable at first, but it's not worth risking lung and skin irritation from fiberglass. I purchased the 12" because it was so much more affordable than the other bed-in-a-box options I was looking at, and it has a large number of (mostly) positive reviews. I was a little worried after reading some fiberglass horror stories - if you don't know what I'm talking about, just search "fiberglass" in the reviews or search "Zinus fiberglass" online. You'll find multiple terrifying reviews about people who made the mistake of removing the cover, which led to tons of fiberglass escaping from the mattress and ruining their clothes and bedrooms. I ignored these because I assumed the fiberglass couldn't cause issues as long as the cover was never removed. I WAS WRONG! The mattress was comfortable enough for the money I spent, but it wasn't very supportive and I nearly returned it just because it was overly soft. After sleeping on it for 2-3 nights, I noticed tiny rashes on my body that seemed to be popping up overnight. Nothing major, but it made me start wondering about the fiberglass. After a couple more nights I was noticing that I would constantly feel tiny itches when laying in bed. I believe I also started noticing minor throat and eye irritation, but originally assumed it was allergies. Note: I had a set of thick cotton sheets over this mattress at all times when sleeping on it and NEVER even unzipped the cover. There was no damage to the cover and I was the only person sleeping on it. I ended up shining a flashlight over my bed sheets and my fears were confirmed. Dozens of tiny fiberglass pieces were embedded all around my sheets, even in my comforter which wasn't in direct contact with the mattress! The fibers were perfectly straight and only visible when light hit them at the right angle, but invisible otherwise. I even started finding shards inside my clothing! Keep in mind that a noticeable amount of fiberglass had escaped AFTER ONLY HAVING THIS MATTRESS 5 DAYS! I called Zinus customer service directly and they told me that it was probably just a defective mattress and that I should ask Amazon to exchange it for a new one. I rejected that offer and I'm here to tell you that EVERY SINGLE ZINUS GREEN TEA MATTRESS IS DEFECTIVE, not just mine! A thin piece of polyester is the only thing separating you from a layer of shedding fiberglass! Fiberglass WILL easily pierce this cover and escape into your home, causing invisible damage! I immediately scheduled a return through Amazon, and I have to give Amazon 5 stars for scheduling a mattress pickup and refunding the money - no questions asked. However, I truly hope Amazon takes notice of all these fiberglass stories and starts refusing to sell these mattresses. The scariest part to me is that there are probably loads of people (and kids!) out there sleeping on these mattresses and suffering from skin/lung irritation without having any clue that it's being caused by their mattress. If I hadn't known about the risk from the reviews, I never would've even suspected fiberglass and would've kept sleeping on it and suffering from the health effects. I'll be reporting this mattress as a hazardous product to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in the hopes that Zinus will be forced to stop selling it. I understand that fiberglass is an approved fire barrier, but Zinus failed to make sure it wouldn't be able to escape through the cover. Totally irresponsible of the company to keep selling these especially after all the stories similar to mine. If you're considering buying this mattress - please reconsider!
