One of the best of the wireless DAC/amps with amazing battery runtime
This is an excellent Bluetooth DAC/amp. I use mine to connect via Bluetooth to my phone, I stream music from my phone to the device and I listen using whatever wired earphones I feel like using. A DAC converts the digital signal to analogue sound and the amplifier makes it louder. Devices like this effectively turn any wired headphone or IEM into a wireless one only you get to choose the headphones you want to use. Many people don't want to be restricted to those earbuds and headphones that manufacturers turn into Bluetooth models. Devices like this with decent earphones sound better than wireless buds and headphones. With a wireless headphone once the battery inevitably degrades or the electronics fail after a few years you have a useless headphone that the manufacturer won't service. A Bluetooth DAC/amp makes way more sense. Wear it on your upper body using the clip or a lanyard and you then have just a few inches of cable running to your headphone. Your hands are free, no wire running to your phone and you have great sound. I'm pretty enthusiastic about these gadgets and wonder why I don't see more people using them. Bluetooth is not what it used to be, this device can use LDAC which is a codec that can transfer data at 990kbps rather than the 330kbps that was once the norm. It is almost lossless. I doubt many people couid identify a track streamed over LDAC bluetooth from a track played using a wired dongle. It can be used as a USB dongle DAC but I don't use it like that. These devices are intended for use in your personal space, not for streaming over long distances. Range varies depending on structures but about 10 metres is about the most you should expect. As I have my phone on me as well as the device the range isn't important to me. Some people find that if they put these devices in a trouser pocket their body blocks the signal. I've never experienced this but I always wear mine on my upper body. This device has buttons that can be easily activated so it is best to keep it out of pockets that have other stuff in them. The ES100 is known for it's amazing app. You can get into tweaking the EQ and all kinds of settings, it is very comprehensive and some of it requires a little expertise. You don't have to get into that though. The app is set up by default to give you clear access to the core features for simple management. You can access the other stuff easily but most of what you need is in one very simple page. I particularly like the feature that estimates the sound volume in dB. Good to keep an eye on that. This has so many features that I can't get into describing them all. The ES100 sounds fantastic, I use other devices of it's type that cost more and it sounds just as great. The one thing that really impressed me is the battery life. I have two other devices like this with similar spec and features from another manufacturer, the ES100 runtime using LDAC is longer than the combined runtime of those devices at around 15 hours. It is such a tiny gadget too, I've seen it many times on video and in photos but when I got it it looked about half the size I expected. This gadget has been around a few years now and is still one of the best, so good I can overlook the micro usb port. All of these devices are around the same price and they all do pretty much the same thing. There are small differences, this one can't do 24/192, you would need the Fiio BTR5 for that, the BTR5 has much shorter runtime, a far more basic app but is still a great gadget and can power far more demanding headphones. If you're not bothered about 24 bit192khz and many people including audiophiles aren't, this device is a great choice. The ES100 has a lot of charm to it, it was designed by a small company and they put a lot of work into making something far better than you should reasonably expect.

Great little device!
This is a very well designed and supported little device. There are numerous features aimed at providing excellent audio quality included and frequent firmware updates suppliying both fixes and new functionality. The control app used to configure advanced features is simple and effective. I found a thread on a well known headphone audio forum where the manufacturer was interacting with the community of early adopters, directly accepting feedback and improvement requests. These are usually good signs for a niche product like this. So how does it sound? In a word, great! The ES-100 provides ample power to drive headphones up to 250ohm and also excels at driving multi-BA IEMs with its "high power" / low impedance (~0.5ohm) output mode. As a wired DAC / headphone amp it provides a very clean, neutral experience standing head and shoulders above a standard mobile phone or computer audio output in terms of detail and dynamics. In wireless mode using AAC or Apt-X HD compression it's difficult to spot differences from the wired connection unless sitting down quietly and listening for the minor compression artifacts using certain songs and headphone pairings. Battery life is pretty decent at around 12hours+ by my reckoning in high power mode. For travel use it's very small, light and includes an integrates sprung loaded clip. There is also a mic which can be used for hands free calling or audio pass-through, although I have no need for this so it was only confirmed that it seemed to work fine. What could be improved? I'd personally like to see the micro-USB connection be changed to USB-C as this is fast becoming standard, is reversible and a little more sturdy. Also, the shell of the ES-100 is quite a thin plastic which doesn't instil a lot of confidence in its ability to take a knock. For mobile usage it might be good to change to something a little more rubberised or perhaps add a bit of metal for the frame? The buttons are also a bit on the small side for my fat fingers. Would I recommend this? If you're in the market for a portable, relatively inexpensive battery powered USB / bluetooth headphone DAC / amp and place audio quality at the top of your list of priorities then I would absolutely recommend you check out out the ES-100.

FEATURE OVERLOAD! and i love it
this product has so many features its impossible to know where to start, it really does have just about everything so I'm gonna break this down a bit. BUILD the ear studio is pretty well built, the plastics feel pretty good and it is very lightweight and can easily fit in the smaller pocket above my larger pocket in my jeans. having a clip is nice but personally i don't much use it myself. there are two jacks, a standard 3.5mm (very nice for iPhone users like myself, don't have to waste money on more dongles) and a 2.5mm balanced which is really nice to see. inside is a 24bit 48Khz DAC chip, a battery that lasts around 4-6 hours in my experience depending on what they are powering and an amplifier that can drive high-end cans like my DT1990 pros and my HD600s yo uncomfortable volumes. Sound the sound of this DAC is very good, i have tried it with all manner of headphones and earphones and i have found it to always sound great from the 3.5mm jack, the sound is very clear and detailed and the upscale in the DAC is nice for listening to low quality tracks off of my phone when out and about, which is mainly what i use it for. the amplifier also produces very little noise in my experience and is plenty capable of powering just about anything i have been able to throw at it. i mainly use IEMS like the fiio FH5 and the Sennheiser IE80S with this though and they sound far better on this than on my iphone XS Max. Features now, this is where this device really stands out when i say it has everything i really mean it. so ill just list them 3.5mm and 2.5mm output, Bluetooth and micro B input with support for every CODEC you could ever want including Aptx HD AAC and LDAC, the ability to change the output power outage, fine control over volume and the power you push to your device and even a volume readout in decibel, the ability to use this device as a stand-alone DAC, AMP or pre amp idf that's your thing, an amazing EQ setting with more than 2 dozen excellent presets, crossfeed support for a more speaker style experience, DAC filter customisation, DAC upscaling and downscaling, ambient sound playthrough and a inbuilt microphone. and even more, the list goes on and on its simply staggering how much this little box can do. Conclusion this is an amazing device for the price, great sound, a staggering feature set and good build, i would recommend to anyone looking to improve there mobile audio expirience any day of the week, just buy it

great little device - Not a bad first effort from Radsone. A lot of hope for the future.
Unique and versatile. Could this replace my Audioquest dragonfly that I use with the Onkyo HD APP and Pioneer Hi res earphones? I have a large collection of DSD/DSF files and 24 bit hi res flac. Its handy , You can use it as a USB DAC (acts as soundcard) on MAC.Windows and even IOS. I tried them all no problem. As my office desktop has no speakers its very useful to use this via usb. Not sure if the onboard mic works in DAC mode. Would be nice for telephony. My 3.5mm pioneer earphones with mic connected no problem. The mic is not connected but the device has its own built in. Paired the item with a non aptx hd iphone 7 without an issue effortlessly. Using the onkyo HD music player on IOS and listening to files streamed over a non lossless Bluetooth connection I was surprised how good it sounded. I have no aptx hd source to try this with. i did playback hires files over both regular bluetooth and USB , and they sounded good. Not mind blowing but good, what I expected. SO far listed to Kraftwerk -Minimum Maximum SDS, Michael Jackson off the wall DSD all played back with the Onkyo HD APP thru the EarStudio. Pleasantly surpirsed. The app is useful although I am not one for tone controls, but you can see how charged the battery is, and also alter the output volume of the 3.5mm socket. Have to yet verify if DOP mode is supported. The good and the bad. Good Flexibility Sound quality Size - is small and light. Lighter than my dragonfly and dongles I normally use. Convenience Connectivity. Channel separation firmware updates Battery Life Connection stability Bad Feels a little flimsy - hooping that USB socket lasts USB DAC limited to 16bit 48khz. (strange no 24 bit mode as aptx hd is 24 bit) No 24 bit 96khz over USB - Would love it to compete with and replace my dragonfly Packaging - Could be a little better. Some hires logo's or something. Like to feel the quality as I open the packaging to reveal the device. Earphone mics not supported (this is common among similar devices) Hoping there is a v2 that addresses some of the above. What would blow the competition away is support of earphone mic's. Looses 1 star for not using earphone mic's if available. Looses 1 star for build quality, finish. USB 16 bit 44.1Khz limit. Sound alone is 4-4.5 Stars over Bluetooth. Over Bluetooth AAC 16bit 44.1khz Thriller is lacking a bit of sparkle and fine detail that is present on the output from the dragonfly over Usb at 96khz. It can’t compete with Audioquest Dragonfly. May seem an unfair comparison but I am enjoying being cable and wire free and able to charge my phone whilst listening. So it’s a balance of convenience and quality. Some further testing. On a MAC using AAC gives far superior results to standard APTX. I also used the Apple developers bluetooth explorer app to increase the AAC it rate to maximum. - Results in a much better sound. Not sure I would class it as Audiophile. may change my mind with a 24 bit aptx hd source. Also another tweak in the earstudio app. Had been thinking the sound was very like my old DiscMan CD player, a tad flat. Reducing the DCT control to 0 in the app has improved the detail. This feature may help low quality MP3, but streaming FLAC's or hires DSD/DSF , 24 bit from the Onkyo HD player which itself does excellent up and down scaling probably eliminates the need for this feature. Switching it off has improved the tone and amount of detail. Update. Updated to the June firmware yesterday. Easme claoms just minor tweaks. All I can say is wow. Sound is cleaner, has better tone, more definition, increased channel Separation.even over 16 bit aac ( non aptx hd) I’m picking out details not observed previously. Added a star. Would still like improved usb support.

Looks Cheap, Feels Cheap, But Sounds AMAZING
I tried a few DACs, including the ifi Hipflask and FIIO Q5S - costing 3 times the ES100 Mk2, and yet the ES sounds so much better than the others. My headphones are Meze 99 Classics - another inredible buy. It comes in a tiny weeny little box, and my first impression was 'i've been conned, this is not a £100 product' Then when you take out the device, it is ridiculously light, so again - I thought 'this is cheap chinese rubbish'. It was very easy to set-up, but I didn't have an OTG cable for my iphones - which is hard to find anyway because it's a Micro USB port (I was tempted to drop 1 star for this because it's so frustrating to work with. Ok, so I guess it all sounds pretty negative so far? But then, the sound. This is where everything changed. All all the aforementioned niggles just dissapear, because the sound is simply stunning - too good for such a tiny product. Like watching watching the X-Factor when you judge someone on their looks only to be blown away by their sheer talent. It's powerful - easily drives by fll-size Meze 99s. It's clear, strong and yet smooth - but not too smooth to sound veiled - it's just not as 'digital' as I was expecting. Plus points: - Music is simply stunning (for the size and price) - Bluetooth Aptx sounds better than wired - on the above DACs that cost 3x the price - It's so light you will want to keep it clipped on you wherever you go - It's 100% reliable bluetooth connection - It comes with a great IOS app too Negatives: - micro USB connection (I almost dropped a star for this) making it USBC would make all the difference - Feels so cheap Overall: Crazy value for money, comebined with wonderful sound and ultimately portability. One of my best buys on Amazon

Suitable for users who have a clear pursuit of music and understand EQ
Built-in applications can provide a wide variety of adjustments, such as EQ, post-processing, and output. This is very powerful. As a student from China studying in Europe, I used the earphone of Vsonic, a very good local brand in China, the model is GR09 ceramic edition and GR09PLUS. I can very responsibly say that the 2.5 balance interface looks pretty good, but it actually works a bit worse than my personal expectations. At the very least, the control and low frequencies are slightly off compared to the balanced interface of Fiio's Q1MK2. But the ES100 can be hooked up to a computer and tuned to sound through the built-in EQ, which can do a lot of things, like the GR09PLUS's 3K is too sharp and can be manually lowered a little in the EQ. When connecting to the computer, I play COD16, the low frequency is too much, I can't hear the enemy's footsteps clearly, and I can greatly reduce many unnecessary sounds by adjusting EQ. When paired with the HD58X headset, the sound effect is poor. As long as you turn up the volume, the ES100 makes the 58X sound loud enough. However, due to insufficient power reserve, it is easy to reduce the low frequency when encountering some complicated songs. This is compared to the Fiio K5 PRO. (after the actual test, HD58X in the K5 PRO,ES100,Q1M2 these three players, the sound effect is very different, I think this is because of the different power reserves of the player. It's like a sound system. I asked my friend to bring the Fiio BTR5 from China. After practical comparison, I personally prefer ES100. In theory, Fiio has a much better DAC, but it doesn't sound very comfortable for a few days, and the APP is so bad that it's often out of control. the APP functions of these two players are very similar, which reminds me of the previous rumors about ES100 developers jumping ship to Fiio.) When I bought it, I knew that amazon had already put the ES100 MK2 on the shelf. After a practical understanding, I found that it was only optimized in appearance, with no difference in internal circuits. The only downside of this little thing is the stability of the bluetooth connection. My phone is xiaomi's MIX2S, which is connected in the form of an LDAC, some time you will lost audio for 0.5~1 second while playing. But it doesn't disconnect. It's not really that bad. If you really need to carry a small BT DAC when you go out and also want to get better sound quality than your phone, the ES100 is for you. If you spend most of your time indoors, play music on a PC, and wouldn't consider going outside, K5 PRO or Q1MK2 are your options. Suitable for users who have a clear pursuit of music and understand EQ

Technically excellent, but so flimsily built that it doesn't matter
Pretty disappointed here. While I think this product is technically great, and you can read many of the positive reviews here attesting this, the build quality is inexcusably poor for the £120+ price point and it does not have a long lifespan. After several months of use mine no longer works (faults with both the bluetooth connection and also the audio quality). It's all light plastic and with cheap buttons that have little resistance (i.e it will pause/skip if in your pocket which gets a little irritating). Not sure how the components are fixed inside but something came loose early on. I would class my use of this as normal/light - used with my wired headphones either with it in my pocket or clipped to a top if wanting to use the mic, albeit the clip also has a weak grip and is not of much use. Sadly I don't think this is just a one-off faulty item in my case, it just doesn't seem a robust product and I can't see it lasting long term for the majority of users. This is a shame as there aren't many alternative products out there of comparable audio quality and convenience. But I can't justify spending another £120 to replace this. Again, I'm not disputing the audio quality/connection and the plethora of functions but for the price this should be built to last and I am left feeling very stung. In hinsight, for my purposes, I would have been better off spending more at the outset and buying a pair of high end, bluetooth headphones (or a similar amount for an older or used model) and keeping my wired set just for listening at home.

Fantastic little bluetooth receiver that can do almost everything!!
Since phone manufacturers removed the headphone jack, I've been looking for an alternate solution for portable listening. This include trialing many wireless options (jabra elite sport, QC53ii etc) with nothing ticking all the boxes. i.e. small, but short battery life, or long battery life but huge over-ears. The Earstudio ES100 has given me great flexibility in my daily life allowing me to use my existing wired earphones. It has a long battery life and fantastic support of bluetooth codecs (SBC, AAC, aptX, aptx-HD and LDAC as of firmware 1.3). The es100 sounds fantastic, driving both my sensitive IEMs (brainwavz b400 and 64Audio u6) and my larger headphones (AQ Nighthawks, ATH A900) using my Pixel 2XL as source. The dual power option was useful if I needed any extra power and being able to use a balanced (2.5mm) output only increases my options. The app also brings another level of customisation not seen in this space. Being able to configure power output, buffering, codec, analogue/source volume, tone volume, led colours, charging options and a multitude of equaliser pre-sets is great. The ES100 can also be used as a desktop dac (external soundcard), which I haven't tried as this is not what I got it for. Radsone has been very responsive on the forums and have taken customer feedback seriously with their continual support/updates of their firmware and app (android). This is much appreciated as I previously had a Fiio Bt1r, which was also a good little bluetooth receiver, but without the customisation, battery life and output options. Summary: Fantastic little bluetooth receiver that can be used for most earphones/headphones. Long battery life, great sound and hugely customisable!

Buon ascolto.

The best customization and sound quality for mobile audiophiles. But fragile build casing
Enjoy your headphones to their full glory with this amazing DAC. Near perfection for wireless high-end HiFi. Powerful amplifier let's you wireless enjoy your studio headphones anywhere, all day. Bought this DAC especially for testing various modified Koss KSC75's and Koss HP30's that require that extra dB output this EarStudio hides under the hood. Priced at around $100, this gem turns the $20 Koss KSC75 into the league of audiophile headphones of $ 500 plus. But no USB C, so charging and operating as USB DAC is like Russian Roulette. ( As goes with mobile equipment with USB connection ) . After three weeks of daily usage, the USB connector was moved a few millimeters and the case surrounding the USB connector shows damage and reveals the white plastic of the case. The case is painted in aluminium look with very thick layer of paint. This makes the icons on the buttons hard to see and caused the track selection button to stay pressed inwards. I returned mine and wait for new one, falling back to my second choice, the comparable FIIO BTR3K that lacks the extra stamina and output power of the EarStudio but is build around the same chipsets in a very durable casing. For my new EarStudio i will only use a decent USB cable (from my Jabra Evolve 40 headset) and have to handle it with some extra care when on the move as I am hooked to the vast customization options that give me the most deep felt music experience outside a studio.

Best sound for the money
These sound very good. I have them with the ear studio HS100 DAC which is a perfect combo. The bass is rich and perfect high end. I play podcasts and EDM with them to make an old man very happy. me being the old man of course. This headphone is really for the audiophile but dont let me stop you buying it as its worth every penny for the price. I havent tried the sound for the mic as I use the HS100 which has amazing mic performance.
