Good for lots of walking
I wear size 8. If I use Dr. Schollโs orthotics, I wear a 9. I have plantarโs fasciitis, and start of bunion on left big toe. I was born with very low arches, which causes me to put a lot of pressure onto my ball of foot and heel. I have tried Addidas, Nikes, and Keens, all which get blisters or at least leave me with painful feet by a few hours in.After research and reading reviews, I ordered this last week, arrived a day early, and in a size 9. I tried wearing them with and without the arch support inserts, walking up stairs and down sidewalks for 4 miles or more every day. I used several differing socks as well. After all that I was ready to give you a review.I find it possible to wear the size 9 with or without inserts, just because how soft and padded they are designed. There really isnโt any arch support in these. However, you can slip any kind of insoles or orthotics under the liner. My toes did not rub against the sides, regardless if I wore thick socks, or doubled thin socks. The tongue is very short and does not flop to the side like some shoes do. There is a loop, like Keens has, to pull up the back of the shoe. At first the rounded laces were untying often, but they have not done so in a couple days, so it seems to not be an issue. Tread is good for walking towns, not really meant for hiking trails in the woods. I wore them on the 100 degree day, and my feet did not overly sweat (eh they sweat in winter!) which may have helped to prevent blisters...the vents work. If possible I would have added even more padding to the ball of foot, because that is where it is most needed for me, however it is very soft and far better than all others I have tried.I am not elderly, yet, but I can see why elderly men love these shoes when traveling in retirement life. They will get your teenager beat up, for not being cool I am sure. However, I can recommend it to anybody who needs to walk or stand on the job a lot, including people with some disabilities. I will try to get another pair in a different color because they are a good value. (Lucked out, as the color is a nicer and lighter color than the photo on Amazon showed, which matched my Calvin Klein work khakis. )

Great Shoe
Nice balance of sportiness, comfort and little casual dressy. Seeing part of this shoe is suede I I give them a treatment of waterproofing before wearing them. Keeps them looking like new much longer.

9.5 W is the best fit I've found in this price range.
They actually use some leather on these. Good price and will buy again.

Good Shoe But May Be My Last Rockport Purchase
I bought this shoe to replace an identical style but lighter color Rockport shoe that lasted for three years of constant use. I had to glue a small section of the old shoe toward the end but otherwise both the material and sole held up well. My old shoe always was comfortable and provided good support. I expect this shoe to last as long and fit just as well. I do have an issue with Rockport though. I purchased this shoe with a wide width and another shoe from Rockport with a normal width and both fit properly, so Rockport has issues with shoe width. I used to go to Rockport stores in outlet malls to try them on before buying, but they have closed almost all of their stores, outlet or otherwise. Because of that this may be my last Rockport purchase. Five stars anyway because I love this shoe.

Nice shoe, comfortable - but started to fall apart after two months of use
These are nice, light, comfortable shoes. I've long worn Rockports and had good luck with them. These shoes, however, have the sole wrapping up over the toe - a lot of shoe designs are doing that now. But the part of the sole that is coming up the front is starting to peel loose - on both shoes - I will probably have to find my tube of Shoe Goo to glue things back together. These shoes have been worn but under office and home conditions, not under hard conditions and not on any hikes or rough paths. They got wet once or twice but that ought not to cause a shoe to start dissolving and separating into pieces.Because this happened to both of the shoes this is perhaps the result of a design or manufacturing weakness, not a one-off failure of one shoe.If they were made better so that the sole doesn't peel away from the toe part of the shoe body these would be great shoes (at least great shoes for my quite wide feet). But it's not right that they need to be glued back together after two months of use.
