Memory foam isn't intended to be soft and squishy but adjust and mold to your body. If you think about it, why would you want a flimsy pillow that will not hold your head up? If that's the case then why bother making a purchase. This pillow is very different from the pillow beads. I personally don't find those comfortable. The straps the pillow has a pretty useless when using them because the pillow wraps around your head pretty well. The only use I found for them was when I tied it to my carry on while I was off the plane. This pillow is perfect for traveling and I would DEFINITELY recommend to my fellow travelers.
