This pair are nicely sized and have dials to change brightness. Even on "full-bright" mode, they are not blinding bright. They offer a soft glow. We absolutely love them. They pack away nicely too. We don't have small children, but these would offer a very soft glow as a nightlight without disturbing other sleepers in the room. We had bought other small lanterns at local shops and they are just too bright. You will love these!
