Very sturdy and cleans easily! I got this because I needed an extra bowl because I bake a lot and it's time consuming to wash the same bowl to makes another thing right after, very useful!

Great size extra bowl. Makes it easier when baking that I don’t need to stop and wash main mixing bowl to have an extra one. Just the right size for icing or other small things I need to mix.

First off, the mixer looks great sitting out on the counter with this bowl. Just the mixer, the paddle beater, and the 3 qt bowl. Very nice!The missing handle is a big plus as it saves space and doesn't get in the way. I actually find it easier to get on & off without the handle. The handle is not essential, in fact after using the smaller bowl, you'll find that the handle is more awkward. The real trick to any Kitchenaid Atisan mixing bowl is simple, don't put them on too tight and you won't have trouble getting them off.I've used the high speed and nothing has flown all over my kitchen. You do have to use some common sense. You do want to mix the eggs and liquids first, and then add the dry ingredients. But I do that with the large bowl too. And of course start out slow, but why wouldn't you?Yes, a 3 qt bowl is going to have some limitations compared to a 5 qt bowl. It's almost half as big! But unless your making a big batch of something I haven't found it to be a problem. And it's easier to clean.Quality product + no tax + free shipping = great value! Go for it.

This model bowl, according to the Kitchen Aid manufacturer (I phoned them) is the ONLY small bowl made for this mixer. It arrived here this morning by USPS. It locked into the base perfectly. Save yourself shopping time and phone Kitchen Aid customer service to ensure you order the correct bowl, I’ve seen a whole lot of Q & A nonsense questions. Go to the source instead. The bowl is beautiful and fits inside the big bowl for easy storage. I’m perfectly comfortable that the smaller bowl doesn’t have a handle like the large one does; it tucks away easier. My KitchenAid mixer did not come with the accessory bowl, so I purchased this one and am not disappointed. Fits and works well with my mixer. Easy to clean.

I got this bowl to turn my 5qt Tilt Head Mixer I to a mini, since the size difference isn't much in the units. This bowl is perfect especially since it doesn't have a handle on it like my original bowl.

Ordered this as a present for my wife, but upon delivery discovered it doesn't fit our Artisan stand mixer (model KSM150). The locking base on the bowl is about 1/8th of an inch too wide to fit into the receptacle on the mixer. When I spoke to the representative, she felt that the bowl must be defective, so I'm hoping the replacement fits. However, the finish and construction of the bowl seemed very nice, so I'm not too confident that it will. I'll update this if the new bowl (same model) ends up fitting correctly.UPDATE: Received replacement today, and the new bowl (same model/item number) fits great! I'm only upgrading the review to 4 stars due to the defective first bowl.

Perfect for smaller batches

I like my stand mixer but the glass bowl was too big for many recipes. This bowl works perfectly. Fits well. Cleans up nicely.
