An excellent towel for drying hair!!
I originally bought this for a trip, but that trip has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I initially considered sending back this towel, but it smelled and looked very nice, and was very well presented, so I decided to keep it and try it out for when (if?) the world ever returns to normal. I gave it a 5/ for absorbency. I had shoulder length dreadlocks and have been using this towel to dry my hair after washing at least twice a week since I got it. My hair actually dries the same day now, rather than into the next day, since using this towel! For travelling and lightweight I gave them both a 5/5. I haven't taken it out on any trips because of shelter in place orders, however it DOES pack really small and it air dries really quickly for me here in Colorado. Once it air dries I fold it down and save it for my next hair wash. It could fit into a quart sized ziploc baggie for travel for sure. I've been using this towel exclusively on my hair. Haven't used it for body drying. I'm one of those girls that NEEDS two towels to try off with and have a separate velour towel I've been testing out that I'd also bought for travel. I'm considering downsizing my home towel collection since I've been using my two towels. So that's saying something! I highly recommend this towel, at least as a hair drying travel towel. If they made a bath sheet sized one I'd definitely buy it based on how this one performs.

Throw away your preconceived notions about towels!
I've owned this towel less than twenty-four hours, yet I'm in love! We will have a long and happy relationship because I know fabrics (from a lifetime of sewing), and I know that this towel will only get better with age. In our current situation of escalating electric bills and finite resources, towels like these will become indispensable. Yes, I laughed at the very appearance as I stepped out of the shower; this is not the burlap feed bag from the farm where I grew up! It's a natural fiber that absorbs and gets softer with age. And while it's getting there, it may have a slightly abriding effect, depending on the enthusiasm with which you dry yourself! I noticed immediately that as the towel touches water on my skin, it instantly becomes dry! I might add that I've been searching for this towel through many Amazon returns and donations, and I'm relieved to have discovered this towel! I live in South Florida and the humidity can be oppressive, and yet this towel dried in a matter of minutes. Now I need to buy some more!

Worth It!!!
Great product. It does get softer after time and a few washes. Make sure you wash in cold water and hang dry it. Use plant based soap. Something no one tells you about the Good/Real linen is it sheds. Your home if you have wood floors will be full of dust fiber balls. It seems to lighten up but OMG its allot. I hope it goes away but worth the health benifits!!!

Amazing Towel for Everywhere You Go
Perfect travel towel. I owned an Outlier grid linen towel for a couple of years ($75) and this is better and cheaper. First off the size is just right. It wraps around your waist or torso easily with enough room to tuck it in. There's also enough substance to the towel to soak up water without being overly bulky. I hate thick cotton towels because they take forever to dry. And travel micro fiber towels (PackTowel) feel terrible on the skin and eventually smell terrible (no matter how much anti-odor treatment they put on it). This towel is super easy to hand washโplug the sink, add water, and a little soap. Wash. To wring out just fold it in half, roll it up, and wring it. It air dries really fast. Linen is by far the best towel material. And this is the best one for the money. I use it at home, at the beach, or wherever I go.

Best ever!!! Love it!!!
I reach for this one before any other towel I own. Love it!!! Softer with every wash. Dries so quickly! It may be a bit pricey, but I haven't regretted this purchase. Great gift for my family members.

Linen bath towel
It's small and I don't like using it as a "bath towel" it doesn't absorb enough, however I put it on my top sheet because I have "night sweats" and in that respect that works better for me.

You get what you pay for
Purchased 4 of these in October of 2025. I was on the fence as theyโre not inexpensive. After 9 months of use I believe it to be a great purchase. I alternate 2 towels per week (which means each towel gets used on average 7 times a month and laundered 2 times a month). The reason I mention this is that their durability has not been impacted. In fact, theyโve gotten more soft and absorbent, in my opinion. They dry much faster after use than cotton towels and, donโt carry a damp odor like my previous cotton towels did. If thereโs a drawback to any linen towel, youโll be disappointed if you want to bundle up into a thick towel to drape over yourself after a shower in the winter - you ainโt gonna get that here. Not even close to being a showstopper for me, however. And btw, the small โcheckโ pattern on these towels are great. They are beyond well-made and way worth the price. Whenever that time comes where I need to replenish my linen bath towels, I will absolutely buy these again

Light, dries quickly, have ordered more.
I wanted a towel that was better for my fine hair and also good for travel, but didn't want microfiber due to environmental concerns. Tried two different brands for linen, and while I like the other brand for my hair, I love the waffle texture that Thing Stories has for my other towels. I did notice that two out of the three black color mix towels had loose threads in the middle (not the stitched seams) that none of the neutral/natural ones had. The brand was quick to reply, and said the threads could be snipped without any worry for the integrity of the towel, but that they would be happy to replace them if I'd prefer. So, so far, I've been happy with the towels and the brand response. I've just ordered more of the natural color for face and hand towels. I hang dry between showers, and I wash them on gentle with the same shampoo I use on my silk stuff, and I dry them on low in the dryer. I haven't noticed any shrinkage, though I could see it being a problem at higher temperatures. The waffle texture means they don't feel as rough as other new linen, and I think it looks more interesting. The only drawback I can think of is, if you're using them during cold seasons or live in a cold climate, they aren't going to be as nice and warm after a shower as our terry cotton.

Compact and effective
I needed a towel to take to the gym before work. Given the limited amount of size in my bag i needed something compact and not micro-fibre (just because I can't stand that material...). This towel is perfect for my needs and way more absorbent than expected. Will order more!

Useful for traveling
They are indeed lightweight and would be good for gym and outside use. Unfortunately, I had wanted bath towels for home use which was not what I had wanted in these flax linen towels. Still will be useful for sports use as they are really nice and light. Would be easy to pack and they do dry fast. Just not for the purpose I had wanted them for. Had wanted thicker flax linen bath towels for home use.

Very thin towel, not attractive on first sight but hugely absorbent, rapid drying and lightweight to pack Perfect for holidays and the gym

Beautiful product
The classy packaging on this product was eco-friendly and showed the company produces a quality product. The towels are awesome but do take some getting used to as the experience is much different from standard towels. It has a gentle exfoliating massage feel when drying and absorbs very quickly and completely. The towels are very thin and lightweight so they dry quickly and do not smell. Very happy that we took the chance on these towels. No regrets!

Beautiful, lovely quality
Gorgeous waffle texture linen, nice presentation. A bit too small for me to use as a bath towel. Will look for a larger size from same supplier. Just gorgeous.
