VARA - Good Kinesiology Tape option
I purchased the VARA brand of take after trying KT for my recurring plantar fasciitis. I didn't receive any instructions, but the box indicated to visit their website for application instructions. I did that and the website referred me to instructions that came with my tape. Need to address that little snafu. I did however receive an email from the company with a nice PDF of instructions on various taping methods. Despite not having instructions initially, I assumed it was similar to KT tape and went forward with taping. I have only used the KT tape that comes in strips and that is easy to remove the backing and start taping. VARA wasn't as easy, but certainly not impossible (I have good fingernails for separating the tape and backing). Initially it didn't seem to have stretch, but it does. Well, my first strips that I cut with scissors were too long, so I trimmed them back accordingly. The first application didn't stick to well at the ends of the strips. I was in a hurry when applying it and decided to complete this review after a second taping. Well, it sure sticks well along the bottom of my feet. I was left with a little more sticky residue than expected (again, comparing to KT), but manageable to clean off.The second taping went much better. The application was smooth and the tape seems to be holding up at the ends. I'm sure I will take off a layer of skin when I remove it, but that okay. Having kept KT tape on for 2-3 days at a time, I decided to see how VARA would hold up after showering. I'm on day 2 and so far, no major lack of sticking. The results are similar to my experience with KT.Finally, how is it with my plantar fasciitis? I would put it on par with other brands I've used. It has helped the pain, but not entirely eliminated it. I get improved relief when I combine the tape with a compression sockI like the colors and will surely buy more in the future.

Good stuff
I have not tried any of the "name bands" for this kind of tape so I have little to compare it to other than traditional sports tape options. I bought this tape after some terrible running form during a race gave me nasty shin splints. I tried compression sleeves, rolling, massage, and a few other things before deciding to buy some Kinesiology tape. Years ago I dislocated my knee and had to use some sports tape to heal. It hurt and it was a task to use and remove. This was why I was a bit put off by the idea of taping my leg again. The Vara tape arrived over the weekend and I applied it that night. I ended up applying it wrong but it still helped a bit. The next day I went for a run and I could feel the benefit of the tape right away. When I arrived home I showered and removed the tape, which hurt a bit thanks to freshly shaven legs. I have a few marks still on my legs from those first strips, but it isn't bad. After the shower I reapplied the tape correctly and it has been feeling much better. The tape holds well though there is some rolling, slightly, at the edges. Removal was like removing a very long band-aid, so it hurt a bit but wasn't terrible, unlike like some sports tapes that I've used. Where I did have some leg hair the tape seemed to irritate that area more than the other areas and did not stick as well. Overall though this was not that big of a deal.Since this tape is roughly half the cost of the name brands I will most likely purchase again when I have run out of this roll.

Excellent when applied correctly
The tape is super easy to apply and there are plenty of resources available on how to apply tape in the way that suits your specific injury. After a couple weeks of experimenting, I've found that I need to apply the tape at least an hour before exercising for the tape to hold. My injuries are in my knees and between weight lifting and jumping rope, I sweat a lot. The tape doesn't always hold, but as I get better at applying it, it amount of time the tape stays *securely* attached (not peeling off) seems to increase. What I do appreciate about the tape is that it allows me to get some pain-free workouts in, and that, I cannot even express, is one of the most incredible experiences. I've had these injuries for over a decade and cannot even recall the last time I worked out and wasn't in pain.... until this tape. So it CAN help! I'm just still in the process of discovering how to consistently apply in the correct way so that the tape doesn't peel off the moment I start sweating.

Lives up to the claims - it is waterproof, long lasting, and helps your injury!!!
I've had my VARA KT tape for a few weeks now and I'm addicted to it. First I admit I did buy the more expensive tapes originally, but I couldn't get them to last more than a day or two. I started researching the tape and this one came up as the best for longevity and works. I'm so glad I took the chance, because this works exactly the way I need it to. I rolled my ankle in April, instead of breaking it, I pulled the ligaments pretty bad. I limped and wasn't having any relief the first month. My chiropractor asked if he could tape my foot, I said sure. I did not expect it to work. To my surprise not only did it work, but my pain was almost gone. It is mid-July now, and I still have to tape my foot, but I no longer limp and the swelling is down to human looking. If I go a day without taping my foot, I end up icing it when I get home and retaping it. At least I bought four colors and I'm trendy with my bum foot. I'm planning on making another order. Use Youtube to show you how to tape your injury. I tape my son's forearm for his weight lifting and he loves it. It is water proof for me, but he said it only lasts a day for him. This is my review, so I love it!Pros - if you clean the area with rubbing alcohol, the tape will stick. Don't let your fingers touch the sticky part.lightweight and moves with the bodyLasts 3-4 daysYou can shower and swim in it. I wouldn't rub sunscreen in the area though.Cool Colors - mix it upCons - It has squared of ends. Easy fix, round it off with scissors so the corners don't 'catch' on clothing or bedsheets.I'd like it if I had a stronger 'anchor' tape. They may have and I don't know. You're friends will want you to tape them up too and use up all your cool tape!
