Why is this more expensive than the $375 quartz version?

In the details for this watch they say it requires 1 unknown battery. What is it? I thought is was a mechanical movement.

Good question. The Tissot Gentleman is a quartz movement, for which you will need a battery. However, the more expensive version, the “Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium” is the automatic version. To tell the difference there is the price ($300+ vs $700+ msrp). Also, the automatic version will have more text printed on the dial, separating this nuanced version from its quartz counterpart.

What is the warranty on this watch?

I ordered this watch and received it yesterday. I contacted to Tissot to start warranty they said "We cannot start the warranty as Amazon is not an authorized dealer of Tissot. Please contact Amazon." Amazon says to contact Tissot. Couldn't start warranty. That's really disappointing.

Automatic movement, so no batteries, no drama.Durability? Stupid good. You can hit it, bump it, live life rough, it still looks box fresh.Size wise it was almost perfect. I just had to remove two links, nothing big.It’s light, functional, comfortable, doesn’t weigh you down, doesn’t get in the way but more importantly I can say this watch is in everyone’s eyesight when we wear it. Cause of course I had to get another one!Basically. I gave him a very nice piece as a gift, and now he’s walking around like he owns Switzerland.
