Maybe I am stupid, but how do i get the acetate off or separate the acetate surrounding the flames?

The stickers are sticky and kind of difficult to remove from packaging. I didn't have fun getting them out. make sure the location for your sticker is clean. It is important that you remove the backing paper first and leave the decal stuck to the acetate. Position the decal where you want it, and rub it to smooth small wrinkles and ensure adhesion of the decal. Keep the edges and corners of the acetate loose. Once you feel the decal is attached, slowly start peeling the clear film off. If the decal comes up with it, press it back into place and rub it a couple of times to stick it down and try again.

Are these easy to remove?

I tried to remove one from painted metal. I was able to get it off OK, but the decal was toast. Maybe if I had been more careful. The material is what I have seen for reflecting tags on license plates. Very reflecting, accommodating to surface imperfections but easily ripped when trying to remove it.
