I’ve had a few tiny rock chips hit my Jeep over the years, and this kit has been an absolute lifesaver. This is my second time buying it, and it seals small cracks incredibly well. The chips I had weren’t bad enough to replace the whole windshield — just little circular hits — and this kit kept them from spreading and made them barely noticeable. If you have a huge crack that’s already spreading, I wouldn’t recommend using this and would go straight for a new windshield. But for small, non‑spreading chips, this works exactly the way it should. Reliable, easy, and definitely worth having on hand.

Update: (06/29/2026) Lease was up and vehicle returned without further incident. The repair was unchanged which meant it's barely visible even if you know it has been fixed. Overall, the product works and holds up well. I will wholeheartedly recommended to others. Thank you! Update: (01/27/2026) The fix is enduring the second winter, which is a rough season currently. Original Comment: Bought this kit for hubby to fix a small crack on windshield that is about half inch wide (including the dot and extended lines, just think the planet Saturn). He took his time watching the instruction video a couple time, read and reread the instruction sheet, and prepared all items with rehearsal on all steps before starting. Extra items he had were medical gauze to tape below the adhesive pedestal to avoid resin dripping, well cleaning and microfiber towels and alcohol spray. He also brought the plastic razor saying it's safer than metal one. He said the most important part is actually take things slowly and reread before performing the next step. Also, making sure the pedestal has good seal is very important given how the syringe is introducing pressure into it. For the 10min and 20min pressure wait time, he actually gave 15/30. He picked a sunny day and left the car out for 30min also. The whole process was not messy and resin could easily rubbed off afterward he said. Here are two photo he took after and stated if you shine the light just right, the line and dot are still visible, but otherwise it's very difficult to spot post-treatment. The most important part now is to make sure the fix survives the upcoming winter. Will update this review once winter is done and rating may change based on the result. I bought this Permatex windshield repair kit to handle a tiny crack on my car's front glass. it was pretty easy to use, and the syringe helped make a tight, long-lasting seal. felt good to fix it myself instead of going to the shop. a few things could be better, like clearer instructions. but overall, it worksd well and saved me some money. perfect for quick fixes when you're on the go 🚗. Glad I have this in the glove box for emergencies!

The repair kit was easy to use, provided great results. The repair results look exactly like the type of repair you would get at the shop. My repair was barely visible, you can see it slightly if you know where the repair was at and shined a light at an angle. I will be keeping a kit on stand by for the next one.

So I think this will help stop the spread of the cracks, but definitely still see them. I knew that was possible before buying, and I'm not looking for perfection. The main thing I didn't like was, during the 20 minute plunger procedure, each applied base had a resin blowout under the sustained pressure. The adhesive pad wasn't holding the mount spout bade secure enough and the resin worked its way out until it erupted resin droplets over my shield. Since it happened twice, pretty sure it was the adhesive not being strong enough. Anyway, in mostly happy to stop the cracks from getting worse, I'm pretty sure it filled everything, even thought I can still see the slight cracks.

A decent windshield repair kit. Used to address a small rock ship on my father's SUV. Written instructions were a bit confusing. Going into the Permatex website and looking at their videos helped clarify the directions. Not too difficult of a process. It has a few steps and each step has several minutes that you wait before moving on to the next step. As a tip from several videos, when scraping off the resin, place the blade at a 90 degree angle against the glass and scrape (don't slide the blade sideways as it may pull off your repair if not fully cured). The repair made the chip 80% less noticeable. The repair is also smooth, not detectable by running your fingernails over the site. It's not magic and a smaller evidence of damage may remain. The resin will lessen the damaged area's visible imprint and will protect against a crack spreading as the resin cures within the chipped glass. This Permatex kit provides enough material for only one chip repair.

高速走行時に飛び石でフロントガラス中央に小傷ができました。近所にリペアショップが見当たらなかったのと、小さめの傷だったのでDIY製品で対処しようと思いました。 同じような商品がいくつか用意されていたので非常に迷いましたが、最終的にレビューを参考に購入を決めました。 日本語の説明書がないことはわかっていましたが、「傷を密閉して減圧し、樹脂を傷の奥まで浸透させる→樹脂を日光にあてて硬化させる→余分な樹脂を付属のカミソリで整えて完成」という流れが写真とともになんとなくわかります。 あとは、減圧し続ける時間や、硬化させる時間をきちんと守ればたいてい成功するのではないかと思います。 付属している注射器や、ガラスに貼り付ける器具や両面テープ、UV硬化樹脂、カミソリといった同梱品がどれも高品質で、つくりがしっかりしているところに関心しました。 気温は10度程度で真冬の日差しでしたが、樹脂はしっかり硬化し、傷もほぼわからなくなりました。 目的が達成できて非常に満足しています。作業時間は、減圧、硬化の待ち時間をすべて入れて５０分くらいでした。 樹脂の耐久性については分かりませんので、その後の様子については何か変化があればレビューしたいと思います。

It did a good job for windshield repair. Although it could never remove the big chip completely as magic, it perfectly filled all small cracks which should stop them from spreading further. I would definitely recommend this product.

I was driving along and a truck came out of a construction site and kicked up a series of stones towards my vehicle. I heard a loud crack and some other noises. When I got home I found a chip near the rear view mirror. I ordered one of these kits, washed the car to remove impacted dirt, let it dry and went about fixing the problem. I had considered one of the windshield repair stores but their prices deterred me and my car is relatively old. It was time for low cost solutions. The process is a little esoteric and involves sticking a plastic mount onto the windshield and then pouring the filler compound into the mount, then varying the air pressure in the mount by means of attaching a syringe and raising and lowering the plunger and leaving it in position for a set period of time. After that you wipe up the excess, stick a little of the acrylic material on a curing strip and apply it over the damaged area and drive the car into the sun. All of this can only be done in relatively warm weather, check instructions for temperature requirements. When I got the car outside I examined the windshield and guess what, there was another chip, and when I looked more closely there was yet another one, although more minor. I ordered kits to repair these two damaged areas and when I was all done I am sure I was able to fix all three for dramatically less than the windshield repair companies charge. The repairs look good and the good news is that they are all repaired as if lef chips can become cracks and then they spread and you are looking at a new windshield. The kit was relatively easy to use and saved a lot of money so I am happy I used it.

É um pouco trabalhoso seguir todas as etapas de reparo. Mas o resultado foi igual de um profissional. A resina é bem sensível ao UV. Na sobra enquanto aplicando a resina, ela mantém bastante fluidez. Mas depois leva o carro ao sol a resina endureceu em 15 minutos como o manual explica. Se fosse mais barato ia comprar mais. Tem mais batidas na para-brisa...

A windscreen "repair" kit that works. It can't save every time, but worth it for hits that haven't really radiated yet. Makes the bullseye etc a lot less distracting, and we've had repairs that helped hold a screen together for years. Better than the time and money on new.
