When I decided to learn painting I bought a few different sets like coloured inks, gouache, etc. This Mont Marte set with 48 colours is by far the best value for money. Much better than any other inexpensive paints and I've tried quite a few. They mix well with professional paints and most of the time I barely notice any difference. Highly recommended.

Good acrylic paint, bright. I like the size of the tubes, not too small and great for mixing colours.

These are great and UNIQUE acrylic paints. I have used almost all professional artist acrylic paints. Aside from having excellent standard properties desired by artists: saturated, mixable, and easily blended, these are unique because: 1) Fabulous semi-matte finish after drying. It has sufficient tooth that you can draw over the dried paint with colored pencils, etc. easily. 2) They have a longer drying time than most I have tried. So they stay wet on palette and brushes longer. Makes clean-up easier and you have more working time on the canvas. 3) They have a more fluid working consistency - between heavy bodied and fluid acrylics. However, they hold their shape on canvas fairly well. Only problems are easily dealt with: 1) Some oranges and yellows may not be sufficiently lightfast (but most, perhaps all, student grade paints are this way). (Depends on how long you want your paintings to last.) However, I just use 3-4 tubes of artist grade acrylics in those colors (my favorite are Golden brand). 2) They have pretty strong value changes when drying. This the same with nearly all brands of acrylic paints. Just plan on the paints becoming darker and more saturated when they dry. All together, I am so glad I tried them. I am buying more and will continue to use them, might even become my primary paints!
