I bought a 3t size, thinking it would be way too big for her, but was surprised it was a bit loose, but she will be able to wear it for at least a year. The color of this outfit is bright and cheery. My daughter loved it, but it did fade very Quickly the pants are actually very thick. My daughter is 2 1/2 and I order a 3 it now fits small. So I would say go up a size
