VOLT Grooming Instant Beard Color - Quick Drying Plant Based Hypoallergenic Brush on Color for Beards, Mustaches, and Eyebrows, Sand (Blonde)

Took a couple tries to get the hang of, essentially, using mascara to color in the beard. But this really does work. And, as the manufacturer suggests, blending two different shades together creates a more natural look. While there is a chemical smell, it isn’t strong and it doesn’t linger much. This does rub off easily, and is easily removable during a quick shower or wash of the face. I have even seen specs rub off on my hands after applying and touching the beard, even after fully dry, but strangely when I have fallen asleep with this on, it has never left a trace on white pillows. I have used this to color my beard that is trimmed very close to the skin, so it will work even on short hair. I recommend using very light up/down and side-to-side strokes for more efficient and even coverage. Only have to rewet the brush one ore two more times to cover my face and neck area. For reference, my beard is a healthy mix of gray and dark brown, and I use the dark brown blended with mud brown. Also, there was one time when this reacted with my skin (got a little itchy and red), but I had applied a lot of pressure when applying, and no hair dye is good for you if it’s getting on your actual skin and staying there.

I recently purchased the VOLT Grooming Instant Beard Color with high hopes of achieving a neat and polished look for my beard, but unfortunately, my experience with this product has been quite disappointing. Firstly, despite the claims of being smudge and water-resistant, I found that the color easily smudged and rubbed off onto clothing and skin throughout the day. This was particularly frustrating as I had hoped for a long-lasting solution to maintain a groomed appearance. Furthermore, the quick-drying formula seemed to dry too quickly, making it difficult to achieve an even application. This resulted in patchy and uneven color coverage, which looked unnatural and unappealing. Additionally, I found the brush applicator to be quite ineffective. It was difficult to control and distribute the product evenly, leading to clumping and streaking in some areas. Overall, I cannot recommend the VOLT Grooming Instant Beard Color based on my experience. The lack of smudge and water resistance, along with the patchy application and ineffective brush, make it an unsuitable choice for anyone looking for a reliable solution to maintain a groomed appearance. I would advise potential buyers to explore other options that may offer better results and ease of use.

Great product...best of its kind in my book. I have tried several products to get rid of the gray on my beard including permanent dye from Just for Men to temporary color mascara type concealers but none have be as efficient and natural as Volt. Pros: Natural looking, not at all the dreaded 'shoe polish' look. It provides a lot of control over the amount of gray that shows through if you want any at all. It sort of lets some of the gray peek through as highlights. It is very lasting and it "DOES NOT RUB OFF"...Life proof really means life proof...no need to worry about it rubbing off if you kiss or really any contact. Seems pretty safe around collars but do a test on a clothing item you dont care about if any concerns about that, seems good for me as far as that is concerned. Fast drying. Fast application. Fast Coverage. NOT BRASSY/REDDISH hues...at least not the color I ordered 'Bark' or dark brown...very ashy, natural. NOT SKIN IRRITANT, like Just for Men which is a barbaric approach to facial hair dying at least for me (nearly peels my skin off when I have used it). Seems very water proof, haven't gone swimming with it yet tho. CONS Pricey, almost 30.00$...which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I feel the folks at Volt should offer a 'basic' packaging as an option maybe? I think that would entice more people to try it. It comes in a fancy cloth pouch inside a sleek black cardboard canister of sorts, with a tiny comb and some remover in case you get it somewhere on you skin....which I'm sure drives the price up considerably. The product works and I don't feel it needs all the bells and whistles...too much fanfare in my book. I plan on continuing to purchase it but only for when I really care about permanency and lasting results, too pricey for regular use for me. Also, it SPILLS. I am not used to the product's "runnyness" and while holding the tube with one hand and applying with the other spilled, to my dismay half the precious contents on my sink, which mind you, was not fun to clean up. Volt should write a warning about that, cause if they did I missed it. All and all, however, great product. I am thankful I found it and hope y'all at Volt stay in business for a long time! KUDOS!

UPDATE/ 6.12.2024- after further communication with Volt and their affiliate team that manages their Amazon store they have fully refunded my order. During this whole process everyone I communicated with was professional and nothing but excellent customer care. It shows that Volt does have a great team and is clearly passionate for the products; just didn't work for me. Change overall rating from 1 star to 3 stars. Please note...Volt products are not returnable/ refundable! It states smudge and water resistant quick drying, not what I have encountered. The instructions even state to use warm water & soap to wash it off and that it dries in 30 seconds; however, if you have any oil/ lotion on your beard or face it easily comes off; even after you eat and wipe your mouth it comes off. I made the mistake of tying the product an hour and a half before bedtime and it rubbed off onto my bed sheets/ pillowcase. Volt customer service encouraged me to try it again by completely stripping all oil/ lotion off my face and to only apply in the mornings. I followed their directions to the letter and still the product never completely dried and wiped off easily. According to Volt’s customer service: 1. Volt Beard Color is not a dye, meaning it does not penetrate and stain your hair. Volt Beard Color sits on top of your hair temporarily, and any continuous rubbing/smudging will compromise the length it will last. 2. This product is alcohol-based, meaning any oils or creams will break down the ink and affect its performance. Food may contain a lot of oils, and while eating and wiping your mouth/face/beard, these could transfer and compromise the product's performance. 3. Skin type (oily or dry) can also affect how long the product will last in your hair. At this point I am stuck with a product that is falsely advertised. It is easy to apply; but would be nice if it would stay on as advertised. Maybe someone that has a very dry face/ beard and not very active.

I'm delighted to inform all the men like me who spend a lot of money looking for a mustache hair color solution only to discover your best efforts failed. Not anymore because 'Volt' Lifeproof grooming is here! I tried hair dye, mascara, even considered wax to hide the gray in my mustache. Nothing worked until I found this product researching for a solution on Amazon. Pros: 1. Covers immediately with no mess. The applicator brush is just like a mascara brush; however, it spreads the color flawlessly. 2. Fragrance is heavenly. 3. The complete kit includes beard comb, prep cleaner (alcohol), complete instructions, velvet pouch, and tube shaped container pleasurable touch. 4. All for less than the price of a haircut. Cons: Reviewers who complained about the $30 price tag. Geez, get real you spend for more for a temporary die treatment that may cause severe skin burns, dry and brittle hair etc. Shaking my head in utter bewilderment at the complaints from a few reviewers about the small cost that delivers priceless results. Listen, pick a color; order Volt, and you'll see for yourself how delighted you'll be when you see the results. Again, you spend $60 bucks of more at some salons just to get a basic hair cut. So, why deny yourself the opportunity to spend a little an get a product that delivers on its claims. No mess, no harsh chemicals, no stains, and you can apply as little or as muc as you'd like. Oh, and by the way it shines! Yes unlike other product that leave a dull residue or unnatural looking hair Volt has real simmer and shine! Now go for it!

Customer service (Simie and Lanka) is amazing! I majorly suffer from allergic reactions to dyes (ammonia, developers, etc), which, I am weighed the pros and cons for irritation/convenience/longevity. I was about to embrace going grey when I stumbled upon VOLT Lifegrooming ad on Instagram. I decided to give it a trial. The starter kits are amazing for learning how to apply correctly. Thereafter refills became ideal after continued use. A major bonus with VOLT is how patient they worked with me on use and identifying the perfect color for my skin tone. I use a darker shade on the lower parts of my beard while one shade lighter for the higher beard. Very natural looking too. In summary, this first-order became a win-win. We identified what worked best for me alone and now stocked up 3 of each color (home, gym bag, and work) for rare touch-ups.

Yes, it's easy to use. Yes, the packaging is nice. Nope, IMO the product is not worth the price and it is not returnable!!!!!!!!!!!! I was really hoping that I would like this product. If you read a lot of reviews then you've probably read about 'Just for Men' and the horrendous pain and discomfort it can cause due to allergic reactions and chemical burns. Everything you have read is true and I myself was a victim. It was horrible, it happened to me twice and I did not want a 3rd go'round. It's like having ants crawling all over face and biting you, while it itches and burns and oozes sap from blisters on your severely swollen face and this lasts at least 10 to 14 days. I am not kidding or elaborating in the very least. It even traveled down my neck, to my shoulder and across my chest. A lot of sleepless nights just pacing around the house going out of my mind. So even though this product claims to be safe, I was not taking any chances. I followed the directions and applied it. I only kept it on for an hour or so and then washed it off. I do have some itching, it's not bad but honestly i think that just might be psychosomatic due to the JFM experience. Plain and simple, it is basically like putting mascara on your beard. It is very easy to apply, and it dries quickly but it does not leave your beard feeling soft, it leaves it rough and coarse. There is also an odor, it's not bad but it sure is not good and although i had it on for just over an hour, the smell did not dissipate. To me it is strong enough that if you are having, ummm an intimate moment,,,,, she (or he, i don't judge) is going to notice it and that's not good. I have very dark brown/graying hair, my beard is almost almost all gray, I purchased the dark brown. It covered the grey very well i will say that, but I had to laugh after I put in on. It just looks dirty, I felt like I was 10 years old and dressing up as a Hobo for Halloween. Might as well just rub charcoal on my face, seriously. My wife was like, "Let's see". I could tell right away by the expression on her face. She said what I was thinking.... "it looks.... dirty"... i was like ... "I know!!!". She's so sweet, she said "Just let it go grey, it's looks better that way".... So there you have it. There's an old song by the band 'RUSH'... it' called "I think I'm going bald"... towards the end of the song Geddy Lee sings "but even when i am grey, i'll still be grey my way!". I recommend all us grey beards take a lesson from that. And to steal a Beatles line - 'and in the end",,,,, this is a great product for what it was originally intended for, the stage, for actors and performers. You are going to look ridiculous walking around in everyday life with this on your beard. You may think you are fooling people, but you'll be (oh i just can't resist) "the fool on the hill". I will definitely continue using Volt, it goes on very smooth, easy and looks completely natural. I've tried other things as coverage but this is by far the best. The customer service is great as well which means a lot to me. I first purchased the Mud color, I like the product so much I decided to go ahead and get another refill pack. After a few uses I decided it was quite dark enough. I ordered Dark Brown to try and it was perfect, I emailed and asked if I could return the unopened Mud and exchange for dark Brown. They replied and shipped out the Dark brown same day without waiting for me to send the Mud back. If you're looking for this type of product go ahead and purchase the Volt you wont find anything better.
