BABEYOND 1920s Flapper Dress Long Fringed Gatsby Roaring 20s Sequins Beaded Vintage Art Deco

I don’t normally leave reviews but I was so happy with this dress I have to share! FIT: I am a thick girl, wide hips and a healthy but. I purchased an XL. I was very nervous about getting this dress because I was afraid it wouldn’t fit over my but or if it did, it would bunch up at the waist. However, the dress was cut smaller at the waist and thankfully wider in the hip area. The length of the actual dress hits me about mid thigh but the tassels go to the knee. This is perfect for me because I can still show some thigh but without being fully exposed. QUALITY: Not that of a costume dress at all! In fact, I could easily wear this to another event and will definitely keep it in the years to come. It is not thin or extremely fragile. the under layer of the dress is moderately thick and the beading is sturdy. Amazing for the price! I will update with photos later!

Bought this for my cousin's Gatsby themed wedding. Very beautiful. This dress is really well made and the detailing is so nice, it looks like I spent more money than I did on it. The black sequins glittered in the light and the fringe on the dress absolutely danced with me. I received a lot of compliments. The V-cut in the front is not too low or too high. Im 5'3" and the dress came to about mid thigh, with the fringe ends touching the tops of my knees. If you are tall, this dress might be a little too short for you. The dress is true to size. I am normally a size 12 and so I followed the sizing chart and it fit perfect. Overall, absolutely LOVED this dress and will put it away in my closet for future events!

Ordered this dress to ring in the new year, Roaring 20’s style. The dark green color is beautiful and the fringe and sequins were perfectly placed. I’m petite, 5’1” and this was the only dress of the 4 I ordered that actually fit. (Ordered an XS). I altered the sleeves slightly to narrow them at the shoulder, making it more of a true v-neck. To me, this looks truer to the era. Otherwise it made me look wider and was just a little too much dress. I simply took some strands of fringe, wrapped them around and tied them underneath along the shoulder seams. This is a decent quality dress.

First of all this is a beautiful dress. I bought it to ring in 2020 in 1920's style. I recommend it!! Would I say it's $50 quality? No. I think all the embroidery and sequin work bumps the price up. But it is certainly not the worst or cheapest garment I've received from Amazon. On the spectrum of cheap, Chinese-made clothing, I give this an 8 out of 10. My two issues with the dress are related to the fit: 1. I ordered a medium per the size chart, mainly looking at the waist measurement because that is what usually determines if a garment will fit me or not. I know my waist in inches and ordered accordingly. I have a 29"-30" waist so I ordered the medium, which according to the size chart fits a 29"-31" waist. The dress is actually quite loose on me around the waist. And on the upper back area where the zipper finishes there is a large gap between my body and the dress. There's just so much extra room. 2. In the photo, the top of the V design where the fringe hangs from basically starts up at the girls waist, the smallest part of her torso. Based off that expectation, the dress I received is more of a drop waist silhouette, and the top of the V begins way below my belly button. It also goes way down to mid/lower thigh. It is not nearly as short as pictured. Now, real 1920s flapper dresses were not form fitting, they were loose and definitely all had the drop waist....soooo technically the dress fit me in a historically accurate sense, but I live in Vegas I want it short and tight, duh :)...It does not look the way the picture indicates, which is 99% to do with why we buy it, right? So based on that principle alone, it's a bummer. Ultimately I would have to be much larger around, have a much bigger chest, and be like 3-4 inches taller for this to fit accurately as shown in the picture....but I ordered according to actual measurements, so who knows. I have ordered a small, and in the meantime I am keeping the medium, pending return. If the small doesn't work out I will still wear the medium on New Years Eve :) I will be very, very comfortable and modest looking in it. And historically accurate, I guess. I don't want to say "it runs large, buy a size smaller than normal", but I would say it's cut a little looser and longer than indicated. If anything, know your hip measurements because that part has the least "give", and now that I've tried it on, I would say that's the most important. Undoubtedly the photo we see is an XS, and I think they just don't do the most accurate job of technically sizing them up from there.

The dark green color is gorgeous. It’s liked that the inner liner prevents the sequence from scratching your skin. I’m 5’5” and it hits mid thigh. I got the large and it’s a bit loose. I like that it slightly nips at the waist. Most flapper dresses are straight and I’m athletic with a curvy butt. I was worried about finding a dress that would work for me. Caution - it’s short so make sure you can sit down in it. That’s why I’m glad I got the looser large - the medium probably could’ve worked. It has a good amount of stretch. The hanging fringe on the shoulder and hem moves when you spin around. It will be fun to wear to a Gatsby party!

I am 5’4 175 pounds, 34D. I got a large and the dress fit perfectly! It doesn’t have a lot of stretch to it so you want to make sure you measure. The material was very nice for the price and I got so many compliments! I bought it for a haunted speakeasy event my boyfriend and I attended and plan on wearing it for a great Gatsby themed New Year’s Eve party!! Gorgeous dress, and a great price. I absolutely love it!

This was perfect for a 20’s event we dressed up for. I was impressed with the quality for a costume dress, it lays really nice and wasn’t at all cheap or sheer like I’d expect. It felt like a decent dress. And the emerald green color is beautiful! I pulled it up to dress it down as a shirt too which was a lot of fun. I’m a size 8/10 and am wearing a L in this dress :) with a perfect fit

I purchased the large even though i'm typically a small or medium in dresses. The large fit perfectly and the length was to my fingertips so a normal mini dress style. I may have been able to fit into a medium if i was 5 or so lbs lighter. My boyfriend thought it looked great on and i was pleasantly surprised with how nice it looked. Seems like it is made pretty well. In my case, i had to size up but not sure if this applies to others. I'm 5'7, 150lbs, 34DD, size 4-6 in jeans. Would def recommend. May not work length wise for girls a little taller than me.

I liked the dress but since it was for a 1920 Christmas party I went with the green instead of the black. Nice dress, fits good and according to size. I also ordered the headpiece that went with the dress. Love them both.
