The Great Bazaar & Brayan's Gold

Can't put the books down!
I absolutely love the Demon Cycle series by Mr. Brett. I started reading "The Warded Man" a month ago and I've now read every book in the series including "The Great Bazaar & Brayan's Gold." I suppose it was due to my familiarity with the characters in the series, but I enjoyed reading some of the side adventures of Arlen Bales and Abban and others and more fully developing my understanding of them. Prior to this series, my favorite ever had been the books by David & Leigh Eddings.... while that is an outstanding series, the Demon Cycle has moved into first place on my list.

Great stories
I loved reading the Painted man and the desert spear. These two stories are great in following Arlen through two quests. Brayan's Gold was my absolute favorite because it explains another demon not found in the other two books - Snow demons, and I do hope they feature in the Daylight Wars, as they are a new breed of evil. The Great Bazaar also highlights how Arlen got hold of the map leading him to Anoch sun, very interesting read. It brings back favorite characters such as Abban also. These two books helped me sustain my Peter V Brett addiction, so now I can await the Daylight wars.

Brayans gold worth $2
Brayans gold is five-ish (SMALL) chapters cut from Warded man. This might be worth two dollars.

Can’t Get ‘nough of that Demon Cycle stuff
These tangent tales are wonderful additions to the Demon Cycle series. Although they were removed from the main novels, I am thrilled we have the chance to enjoy them.

fun and entertaining, worth your time if you just want more Arlen
Fun and engaging and a great opportunity to see a bit more about Arlen's life before he went all ink-crazy.

Let's hope Brett releases a few more of these while we wait for book 4!
Personally, I can't get enough of Brett's Demon Cycle, and although short and sweet, this is a great addition to the series. The two stories included expand on the world created by Brett, and give the impression there is a lot more he can explore once the Demon Cycle concludes after book 5.For those that have not read any of the others in the series, this may be a good way to dip your toe in, and test the waters, as I can see it serving as a great introduction to the world that Brett has created. As with the other books in the series, this is easy reading. I have to say there's not a huge amount of action, but Brett has a writing style that keeps me turnming the pages, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.This was the first "book" I purchased since getting my Kindle, and a price of under £2 is a steal. Download it now and enjoy!

left me wanting more.........
You can forget the great Bazaar, in fact I can't even remember what went on it. Buy this book for Brayan's gold.It has been a while since I finished the desert spear and I forget how amazing this series is. Brayan's gold rekindled all this memories.....it is very short, you can finish it in an evening but don't let that put you offHowever this book should come with a WARNING. It will leave you wanting more, like eating a delicious appetizer on an empty stomach

Short, but a great demonstration of expanding a universe
The universe he has created is excellent and features strong male and female characters, a trait often forgotten in modern SF and Fantasy. It's short but expands on the universe and adds back story. If you haven't read the series, do so and get this to help fill it out. I don't know where the series will end up, but it's going there with a cracking pace and good writing.

Poor value but if you read the other books I suppose like me you buy and then moan !
Good but short poor value . Why did publishers not wait and put all the short stories in one normal sized book. It still would no rate the price of a full novel, but l might feel less like I had been ripped off.

Good but...
i liked the idea that the missing parts would be filled in about how Arlen became the painted man, but it didnt actually tell me how he became the painted man or the parts inbetween him becoming the painted man and the 2nd book?? Also quite disappointed that this is now 99p when i paid £6 only 2 months ago....otherwise- painted man books so far are fantastic! I will be reading and re-reading them, fantastic books!
