My cat ate with gusto & did not immediately vomit it up, which is a minor miracle considering his history of food intolerance!
My 15 y/o cat has been experiencing increasing GI problems over the last few years. He developed a poultry allergy 3 years ago which causes severe diarrhea within 30 minutes of ingesting food with any type of poultry (eggs don't seem to bother him). It was difficult at that time to find a dry cat food (he will not touch any food that is wet - even canned fish) that was fish only. More companies are now making fish only foods as apparently poultry allergies in cats have have become more common. He started vomiting up most of his food right after eating over the last year which increased to the point that he had lost 2 lbs over the last 6 months. He was vomiting up every food that I tried. He was begging for food, but could not keep it down. At that point, a vet visit was required. All of his lab tests were normal. The vet assumes that he has some type of inflammatory bowel disease that has slowly been progressing over time. He may even have some low grade pancreatitis. He was started on B-12 injections weekly x 6wks then monthly. He was also started on 5mg prednisolone (cats cannot take prednisone) daily with excellent results. The vomiting totally stopped as long as I gave him the medication daily & kept him on the same food. He gained back a pound in the first month on the medication. He will remain on the medication for another 3 months & then the vet will re-assess if he can be weaned off the medication. I stopped attempting to decrease the medication dosage because the vomiting would resume within 12 hours of reducing the dosage. Unfortunately, the only fish only dry food that he would eat & could tolerate was Wellness Ocean Core dog food. (Dry fish only dog food is easily available compared to cat foods. There are about only 6-8 varieties of fish only dry cat foods & he either will not eat or cannot tolerate at least half of those.) He has been eating dog food for 6 months now because every time I attempted to switch him to a cat food he would either not eat it or begin vomiting again even though he was still on the medication. This particular dog food does have taurine in it which is essential for cats. I had given up on finding a cat food that he would eat & could tolerate. I tried this food hoping maybe he could tolerate it. It does have some chicken liver in it, but I was hoping that it would not be enough to bother him. I mixed the food with his old food in 50% ratios. He picked out this cat food over the dog food he had been eating. He ate the food over 6 hours ago & so far, no problems at all. It is very small pieces which is good because it is easier for him to eat & digest. I am hoping that he will continue to eat this food & tolerate it without any GI issues. The food smells terrible, but most fish only foods smell pretty bad. I can deal with the smell as long as he eats it & can tolerate it without vomiting. It does not smell as bad as the EVO herring formula which caused half the house to smell really bad when I fed him. That food gave him diarrhea & he vomited it up also. The last cat food that I tried (Taste of the Wild) he ate very well, but promptly vomited every bit of it up within 10 minutes. He won't touch Wellness Salmon formula or Natural balance Salmon & Pea formula. He ate the Natural Balance Rabbit & Salmon formula (hard to find), but vomited it up also. The last time I checked the formula had changed & there was poultry added to it. He likes & tolerates fairly well the Nature Instinct Variety Salmon formula, but he would vomit that up at least half of the time. He was eating that food when he lost the 2 lbs over 6 months. I really hope this food works out as I have literally tried every dry fish only cat food available. So far it looks promising!

My cat and I are both allergic to each other. She sneezes from me and I sneeze from her. She also has a very delicate stomach. I canโt tell you how many cat foods Iโve been through. This is the only one that she has minimal vomiting. Plus it comes in salmon, which is her favorite flavor. Sheโs a very, very finicky cat. And if I ate every time she ate, I would be very thin just like her. My cat and I are very much alike. We both have gray hair. We both are fixed and we both are old. This is a great cat food. Itโs a number 10 for any cat that has a bad stomach this is the one to get thank you for making it and making it in salmon.

Good ingredients, but apparently lacking in taste
I like the ingredients and the size of the kibble, but my cats aren't thrilled with the taste. I free-feed Blue Buffalo kibble, and have been doing so since shortly after Blue Buffalo came into being. My cats have done well on Blue Buffalo, my last four living to be in their mid-to-late-20s, one of them nearly making it to 29. My cats are satisfied with Blue Buffalo; they don't overeat, but they do eat, and free-feeding takes some of the anxiety out of a meal for them. Probably as much for myself as for the cats, I can't help but believe that they would like a change from time to time, so I sometimes buy another premium kibble to mix in with the Blue Buffalo. It is often evident that they are excited about finding something new in the bowl. However, when Bubba (age 2) walked up to the bowl to find Halo Holistic at the top, he took a few bites of it and then walked away. Ella (age 11), in another room, wasn't interested in even walking up to the bowl. It may turn out that they were simply not hungry, but they are usually at least curious about finding something new in the bowl. They demand a variety of canned food, which they also get each morning, but are usually okay with a rotation of Blue Buffalo recipes when it comes to kibble. I have little doubt that this bag of Halo Holistic will not go to waste. They'll eat it and the ingredients are good, so I am okay with it. Considering that 80% or more of a kibble's ingredients are represented by the first four ingredients on the list, let's look at the first five ingredients in Halo Holistic Wild-Caught Whitefish Recipe: White Fish, Brown Rice, Brewers Dried Yeast, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), and Peas. I had to look "tocopherols" up, by the way: it's a reference to different forms of Vitamin E. The ingredients look pretty good, so this isn't going to harm your cat. Generally, what I look for in cat food is that meat, poultry, or fish should be the number one ingredient and that there should be no corn, soy, wheat, gluten, or unnamed byproducts, and this fits that criteria. Your cat may love it, and if so, this could be a good choice for you. It's possible that my cats will come to like it better than it appears. Since they are free-fed kibble, I don't expect a frenzy of excitement over it, but they usually show more interest in a new kibble.

No more diarrhea!
Listen, my cat is from the streets and will eat ~anything~ so this isn't really about the taste. This is about how my 8 month old kitten, who has all kinds of congenital issues - systolic murmur, eyelid agenesis, and chronic diarrhea since I took her in at 6 weeks old - no longer has diarrhea. In those 8 months, the vet and I tried all kinds of things, purina one, 3 different hill's prescription ID, two different probiotic blends, instinct 3 ingredient diet in rabbit - and a couple more I can't even remember. We ran fecal tests for parasites, tried different antibiotics, etc and everything was negative and/or not working. I mean the vet was throwing around idea combinations of a high fiber diet, a low fat diet, choosing different proteins, running an elimination diet, etc just all kinds of things until I came across a Reddit post where the person said their kitten stopped having diarrhea with this food because of the grain. At this point, we couldn't really make the diarrhea any worse, so I ordered it and hoped for the best. About a week into this food, SOLID POOPS. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER BABY LIFE. I was so proud. Anyway, this is all she eats now and poops are for the most part normal.

My cat loves this food!
I have been a fan of Halo pet food for several years now. Halo, truly is a wonderful brand of food with quality ingredients. I decided to purchase this "sensitive" formula because my cat was puking up several times a week. Needless to say, I was ready to try the sensitive formula because who really likes to clean up cat puke.... Major Yuck!!! Anyways, my cat is on her 3rd bag of this formula and has done remarkably well. The puking has decreased dramatically and she seems more satisfied after eatting with this formula plus her coat looks remarkably more shiny. She eats several mini meals a day. I've noticed that helps with the puking situation as well. I am so happy that Halo created this "sensitive" formula, it has really made a positive difference in my cat's overall disposition and health. Yay Halo and yay Amazon for carrying this formula of Spot's Stew since my local store doesn't carry it!

Fine quality food
1, Reason why I chose : Recommended by friends. 2, like & dislike : I understand the manufacture, Halo, has been producing safe and high quality pet food. So, based on this fact, whether cat(s) eat this or not must be depending on their body-built and ones preference. Some folks' cat may not like this taste, but ours did. Reason why I thought about this was our cat (3 yrs crossbreed) seemed to LOVE chicken flavor more than this seafood. It was such an instant reaction. So, I switched it to the chicken flavor since. We adopted her at the age of 2, so we kept on trying different foods, and finally got to this. I can imagine this could be tough or there is not a market for the manufactures, but if they could make a sample pack, little bit of each flavor, then cats can try them all. And we'd know which flavor to buy. Trying all 4 flavors in 3 lbs bag was a little too bigโฆ 3, Recommend this product to : Anyone who is looking for a better pet food. It's a little expensive but worth the try. I'm glad that I tried. 4, Price : A little more than average competitors.

Update: likely cause of urinary blockage
Necessary update. Initially, I was very pleased with this food as it seem to help with my older kitty's digestive issues. However, after being on this diet for 2 and 1/2 months, both my 7-year-old kitty and my 3-year-old kitty wound up at the that emergency clinic within one week of each other. Both boys had urinary blockages and crystals. While I can't say for certain, it's because of this food, This was the only change in their environment or diet in the past 3 months. --------------------------------- My kitty was first on the royal canin sensitive, then the hills sensitive skin and stomach. After a week transitioning to the halo, we went from puking at least once a day to not puking at all for over two weeks. I'm very pleased. All the kitties in my house really like the flavor and we're instantly interested. I don't think it smells that bad at all. Works great in the automatic feeder.
