The animals are not to baby like, do he feels like a big boy. He can put the hat on easily by himself and it stays on while he runs and plays. It fits exactly as it should so his head is covered from sun but does not get sweaty. Meaning if your cutie patootie has neck rolls vs your sister's baby has a skinny neck you can adjust the chin strap to fit both kids.If you are looking for something light like the Banz hat with a chin strap this is NOT IT.
