no ... its empty it is not strong enough to hold liquids unless you seal the cork

Can the chain anchor be removed from the cork?

Had to look at mine, but yes, it will. It will leave a hole but you could cover that with wood putty or something.

Is the cork removable?

Yes, the cork can be taken out. You could even put something, not a lot, but a little something in the bottle. Hope this helped!
