My PS2 has been sat in the loft gathering dust. I was desperate to get it working again on my new tv. I worked out in needed this converter because new tvs dont have the connections ps2 originally had and hoped it would be easy to work out how to connect it. It was plug and play, I couldn't believe how quickly it works. Im not the nost tech savvy person so i was impressed with myself . It feels like in back in 2000 playing all my childhood games again . Such a simple way to get ps2 to connect to modern tvs.

Works brilliant I couldn't believe it. I have a LG 65 Inch smart TV and it makes the play station 2 graphics incredible. Just a heads up...before putting the converter in the back of the playstation, go in to settings on the ps2 and change it too YPBPR. Otherwise the TV doesn't pick it up and won't work!

This product works, if your definition of works is displaying an image. I purchased this for my brother as his TV only has HDMI ports, and I knew latency might be an issue giving it is converting a signal, but boy it’s borderline unplayable. Sonic Heroes is already pretty janky control wise, but it was basically unplayable with this. San Andreas was more bearable but still very noticeable that the lag was there, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever struggled as much to get a character out of a house than I did today. If you’re using this for DVDs then I could see this being a great solution, for gaming though, not so much. Not too pleased with the products performance but it does display an image, so that’s something. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this. The picture might look better but I’d rather a slightly worse picture with minimal lag than something that makes a lot of games unplayable. Haven’t played any fighting games with this but I can imagine it’s not a fun experience! Either find a cheap CRT TV or at the very least find a flatscreen with composite or component ports! Thankfully my TV is one of the few modern flatscreens nowadays that has composite so I’ll stick with the default cables, but I can imagine my brother won’t have fun with this on games like WWE!

works well. great item for the price. Though you have to make sure the ps2 output is set to YPbP. Not an ideal situation if it is your only output. But otherwise works great. If there was any negative it is that the unit sticks out a fair distance and with the ps2 lay flat the hdmi adapter sags a little more than i would like so needs something under it to keep it level and remove any excess strain it may be putting on the ps2 av port. Vertical brings its own problems in that the power socket (that can be connected to an external power source or plugged in the front of the ps2, faces downwards! There is no clearance to use the adapter on a vertical mount ps2. Either you would have to raise the ps2 higher off the floor or use one of the many 3d printed stands to use this on a vertical ps2 fat. No idea about the slim version. but despite that niggle, it gives great output performance to a hdmi screen at a very low price. better than the majority of knockoff component cables and way better than rgb. worth the money.

Love this little gadget i grew up with AV cables and CRTs for gaming so to see a PS2 have HDMI capability for me in this day and age blew me away the picture is great ive only had it hooked up to my gaming monitor so far but will play in 4.3 aspect ratio no problem. Not even detecting scan lines which were a feature of many an AV connection in the 90s/2000s.

Didn’t work on my ps2 but not sure if it’s the fault of my console.

This ps2 to hdmi converter works 100%. Was able to connect my ps2 and play it using this and a hdmi lead on my new Samsung smart tv. Just make sure you change your output settings on your ps2 as instructed in the instructions you receive before using this otherwise it will not work until you do. Make sure your USB charger plug is decent or use a USB charger port as this won't work on a slow USB charger plug. This only works for ps2 games used in the ps2 console. If you try to use a ps1 game in your ps2 it will not work - it will load up to the point of loading the ps logo when starting up the ps1 game but then it will lose connection Would definately recommend - esp as some tvs don't now have the connection ports for the old ps2 lead.

I brought this is i could record and stream PS2 games and it work great....... but it has some interesting quirks. firstly image that its out puting is 720x480i and for a few games it's 720x576i for thos who are not tech savvy this is not HD and some Newer T.V's can't output an image that low and some can't out put interlace signals. secondly as it's an interlace pic and not progressive, there will be the some screen tearing on games with a lot of movement. thirdly and this is just for those who might want to record they games with a capture card for lets plays and what not but the picture quality will be good but will also be a bit pixelated, on the TV the picture is great, all smoothed out and looking really clear and shape. I don't know if its my capture card trying to upscale the image to 720p or if thats just how the ps2 outputs "HD" pictures, it didn't change much and was 100% playable. My verdict is if you are looking for a way to play your old PS2 but don't have an old TV with scart or component, this is the pefect way to play your old games and for the price, even if you unsure it wont break the bank.
