What I liked: Wide Temperature Range: Measuring from -58°F to 1022°F, it can handle everything from checking a freezer's performance to monitoring the stone temperature in a high-heat pizza oven. Adjustable Emissivity: This is a standout feature for this price point. By adjusting the emissivity (0.10 to 1.00), you get much more accurate readings on different surfaces like shiny stainless steel, cast iron, or soapstone. Built-in Max Function: The "Max" measure feature allows you to scan a large area (like a griddle or engine block) and automatically captures the highest temperature detected, which is perfect for finding "hot spots." Excellent Distance Ratio: With a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio, you can safely measure hot surfaces from a distance—a 1-inch area can be measured from 12 inches away. User-Friendly Design: The backlit LCD is easy to read in dark environments, and it features an auto-off function to preserve the 9V battery life. This infrared thermometer works really well and is extremely easy to use. The readings are quick and accurate, which makes it perfect for cooking, grilling, pizza ovens, and even checking surface temperatures around the house. The laser makes it easy to aim, and the display is clear and easy to read. It feels solid in hand and doesn’t feel cheap. I like how fast it gives results without needing to touch hot surfaces. It’s been very useful for making sure pans, grills, and cooking surfaces are at the right temperature. Overall, this is a great tool to have if you cook or grill often. I’m giving five stars because it’s reliable, convenient, and does exactly what it claims.

Work great, although a bit touchy if you lightly hit the buttons without knowing. All in all a decent temperature gauge that’s reasonable in price.

I originally bought this to keep an eye on my oven, because it seems to run very hot at times, over a certain degree. Once the thermometer came in, I ended up using this infrared thermometer way more than I expected. I tested it on my fridge, freezer, stove, AC vent, glass, metal, water, food, and even around the house just out of curiosity. I was really surprised by some of the readings, like my lizard being 77° 🤷‍♀️ And... my oven is running hot. ⏱️ Speed & use: You can get a quick instant reading with a short trigger press, or hold it down for continuous real-time temperature updates. That ended up being really useful when watching temps change. 🎯 Accuracy & consistency: For the most part, testing the same object from the same distance gave consistent readings. There’s also a max/min/average feature that tracks your readings, which is helpful—but I do wish that display could be turned off. The current temp display is shown above the secondary display, so there's two sets of numbers at once. 📏 Distance matters: You need to stay consistent with how far you hold it. I found about 3 inches works best. The farther away you are, the higher the reading can appear. 💡 Display & usability: Bright orange backlight with large, easy-to-read numbers Can switch between °F and °C Optional laser pointer for aiming 🔋 Battery setup: Uses 2 AAA batteries (included), but the battery compartment was extremely tight on mine—I actually had to use a tool to get it open the first time. 🔥 What impressed me: Works on metal, glass, and shiny surfaces without issues Real-time readings are smooth and responsive Makes quick checks incredibly easy (appliances, vents, cooking, etc.) ⚠️ Things to know: •Distance affects accuracy more than you might expect •Battery door can be difficult to open initially •Max/min/average display stays on (no option to hide it) ❌ Important: This is NOT for body temperature. Different areas of the body gave completely different readings, which is expected—but don’t rely on this for medical use. I checked my inner forearm + elbow, and my hand of the same arm (all back to back) and the readings were way different. 🎯 Who this is for: Home use & quick checks Cooking & food Appliances HVAC spot checks Parents (bottles, food temps) Pet owners & aquariums Mechanics Boat owners Bottom line: This is one of those tools you don’t think you need—until you start using it everywhere. It does what its supposed to. Temps products accurately without touching it. Backlight or not. F or C. Can change the visible laser size Easy to calibrate. Easy to use. Rugged enough to survive the occasional drop onto concrete.

Honestly, I haven't even cracked open the manual, so who knows what features I'm missing? I use it to monitor axle and rotor temperatures on my vehicles, and it's been awesome. It will also quite accurately take human temperature, although of course you should never let the Laser point hit someone's eyes.

Product is okay but contacting the seller and requesting an invoice is impossible. They dont reply at all.
