I chose this supplement due to the natural ingredients and the form of iron – Ferrous lactate : a form of iron that is bound to lactic acid. It is commonly used in iron supplements and is considered to be highly bioavailable. I take this with a meal to prevent tummy issues and noticed the boost in energy and clearheadedness within 15 minutes. I was feeling fatigued and had a rapid heartbeat with light exercise (associated with low hemoglobin and ferritin levels). I also purchased another iron supplement on Amazon that includes Ferrous bisglycinate chelate; which is even more bioavailable than ferrous lactate but has a slower absorption rate (and more gentle on the stomach). I initially developed anemia from fibroids (now removed) which caused heavy menstrual crime scenes. Since fibroid removal, I've gone from 6-7 day periods (tampon/pad every 2 hours) to a 2-3 day period at max, no clots, and less blood loss. This is far better than iron pills from the doctor that are full of petrochemicals. Standard prescription iron pills are manufactured using petrochemicals as intermediates or precursors. Blood is life and that's why they want to poison it.

This is a great product. I first tried hemaplex. But it made me VERY nauseas!! It wasnt for me. My dr. Told me to take this. The iron mg in this was lower so I wasn't sure how fast it would work but its done great!!! My Ferretin was an 11! And iron was a 56! After 2 months of this Ferretin is a 36! and iron is a 157! I felt better and better each week as it was building in my system. I no longer have pain and fatigue in my legs just walking up the stairs. I also dont feel like I need to nap when my toddler naps anymore I can finally get things done again! So grateful for this iron! Just bought another huge bottle I plan to keep taking for a while because I avoid red meat for endometriosis pain and im sure lack iron because of that but it does keep my pain at bay. Great product!

I have been taking Standard Process nutrients for many years, all are great! The Ferrofood is a natural iron and B12 product. Does not leave a bad taste, easy to take. If you have iron deficiency anemia, this product works really well. VERY IMPORTANT! Check with your doctor first to make sure you need an iron supplement. Take as directed for a couple of months, then every other day for a month or two, depending how your iron levels are reading, then gradually taper off to one a week for a while. ONCE YOUR IRON LEVELS ARE BACK TO NORMAL, STOP TAKING.
