High quality product - handles solid core doors with ease.
I recently installed one of the Johnson Hardware 100PD Pocket Door Hardware Kits and it is a very high quality product. My house is approximately 54 years old and has two remaining pocket doors. We moved in over 20 years ago and one of the door tracks was replaced prior to us moving in. The other door had been a nightmare from day one, constantly falling off the track, bouncing, catching, and not moving when we really needed it to move. After replacing the wheels several times, I finally decided to replace the entire track and hardware. I was hesitant because we have plaster walls and I really didn’t want to open up the wall to remove the old track and install the new one. Further, I needed a solution that would hold the weight of our solid core pocket doors. It seems that the new wheels I would buy we not rated for the weight of my doors. I am a do-it-yourselfer and didn’t want to hire this out. So with the right set of crowbars and other tools, I was able to remove the old track. I also built a tool that would allow me to screw in the new track all the way to the back. Then I cut the track to the proper size for my door, and installed the track. The door hardware was simple to install and the detachable wheel hanger made it much easier to hang the door than it was with the old style single inline track. My door is now working perfectly. It rolls as smooth as silk and very quietly. I couldn’t be happier. While my other pocket door is still functioning okay, I really like the ease at which the Johnson Hardware moves and the quietness, so I am contemplating replacing the track and hardware on that door with another 100PD kit. Before the hardware replacement, I had even debated removing the pocket doors completely and replacing them with standard doors. Fortunately, I didn’t, because now I love my pocket door, and wouldn’t change it, except possibly adding the Johnson Hardware soft-close kits.

Great hardware! Used it to hang two heavy sliding doors -- no problem.
I needed to hand two heavy sliding doors (84" high, 34" wide). I originally tried tracks from a big box home center, but they were noisy and did not feel as solid as I wanted -- take them out, and on to plan B. I ordered two LE Johnson 100PD tracks from Amazon, ($30 each), free shipping. They are much, much better, in so many ways: 1. The Johnson "boxed-U" shaped track is extruded aluminum, absolutely flat and straight. Several of the mounting holes are key shaped, easing installation. 2. The rollers/hangers are high quality, beefy and quiet. They use a three roller design, with a relatively easy to disconnect mechanism. 3. The design has a very easy to use and understand adjustment/alignment mechanism, which can be set with the door in place and fully supported. No trying to hold the door with one hand or foot and loosen/tighten screws with the other. Nice design! 4. The design has a 2" nominal offset between top of track and top of door -- an nice easy measurement that minimizes the chances of mis-cutting your lovely new doors :) I also had to call LE Johnson to see if they recommended the commercial grade rollers ($30) or the heavy duty ball bearing rollers ($55) for my project. They answered the call quickly, were really helpful, and recommended the less expensive rollers -- the rep said that generally, the ball bearing rollers were a bit noisier. Kudos to a business that has good support! Thanks for reading! Update (May 2014) after about several months of use: This product -- both the tracks and the rollers -- has been great. I have not had to make any adjustments, they run smooth and quiet (they are in a bedroom and won't wake my spouse when I get up early). Very satisfied with this product in all ways! Update (Feb 2017) after three years in use. Still works great, no adjustments have been needed, still smooth and quiet. Kudos to LE Johnson for a great product! Update after 10 years. This hardware is still working great and has been absolutely maintenance free. It hangs the doors on our bedroom closets, so it gets used several times every day. Just a great product!

Good quality and easy to install.
Why are decent pocket door tracks so hard to find? We purchased 3 sets of tracks that didn’t work before finally coming across these. The 4th set was the charm! These actually worked and they’re good quality too. Our old rollers were from the late 1960’s and had bitten the dust years ago. We changed out the old hollow doors for real pine slab doors that were much heavier and these, I can tell, are going to hold up these heavy doors for years to come. They’re excellent quality and make these doors a lot easier to open. They slide like they’re on butter.

A Really Great Product
Amazon shipped this order quickly, as usual. However, the inner box, containing the track and hardware appeared to have been opened and resealed. Sure enough, a vital piece was missing - one of the plates that attach to the top of the door. I called Amazon and they said they would send another kit out, then I could ship the one I got back to them. I didn't really want to go to the trouble of doing this since I only needed one part which cost just $1.58. So, I passed on that offer and tried to locate the part at local hardware stores. No luck, anyone who who carried Johnson pocket door products only had the whole kit. Then, I called Johnson Hardware to see about buying it directly from them - they do sell individual parts. Guess what - since I needed just that 1 inexpensive part, they sent it to me at no charge. Thank you, Mike, Customer Service at Johnson Hardware!! Great company and a great, quality product. The track, rollers and hardware are all top quality and work beautifully. It is great to have a pocket door that works so smoothly. Installation is relatively easy. I went by the instructions shown in a video by Ron Hazelton http://on.aol.com/video/how-to-repair-and-replace-a-pocket-door-517774319

This allowed it to rotate and roll flat against the wall when not in use. #3. Johnson Hardware 100PD sliding door Hardware. I mounted the track beneath upper deck with Screws, attached the wheels to the TV mount. I left the end screw out far enough to keep the Wheels from rolling out of track, remove screw to take off for winter. #4. Mount Factory outdoor TV cover 47”. Smooth track, rollers are great, well made and install wasn't a big deal.
Install was easy enough, I'd recommend watching a "how to" video first but other than that this works really well. Smooth rollers, and the door always hangs and slides straight because of the track being two sided. Just take extra care when removing the trim and having a helper at the end to hold the door while I guided the top of the door into the clips was a huge help. It could have been done if I were alone but that part was a lot easier with a helper. The track was about 7" longer than needed but that was an easy hacksaw fix, the track is also a tight fit width wise, but I coaxed it up into place with a rubber mallet and it went in just fine.

Better Quality than Box Store Hardware
The extruded aluminum track is stiff and easy to install. It will not flex or bend as easily as some cheaper steel tracks. The wheels are strong and should hold a heavier door. Online I found a complete cut list for the pocket door framing. I used three sheets of 3/4" cdx 5 ply plywood to mill up 3 separate frames for 36" doors. The site built frames are much better than the store bought frames made with cheap pine and fir. I can use the finish jamb material of my own choice. Pocket doors require precise leveling and plumb work because once installed it is hard to adjust the track. If not installed properly the door will not reveal the same at both sides of the jamb. Yes you can adjust the door but if the track is not level then you will only be able to adjust the door on ONE side only.

Great way to fix old pocket doors!
Replaced, not one, but 2 pocket door tracks with this system. Moved into a home that was 40 years old and had the same pocket door tracks. Needless to say, the doors wouldn't stay on the old tracks, making the doors completely useless. These tracks are such an improvement on the old design. There is no flex with the track and no way for the door to fall off the track. Super easy to install, just know you have to cut a hole in your drywall, and remove several pieces of trim from the door frame. My doors work great now, slide smoothly everytime! I would highly recommend this track system to anyone need I g to fix their pocket doors!

Quality materials.
Good materials, quiet sliding track. Easily unlatch door from slider so if you need to replace the wheels it's not a big hassle. Although (unless you have children who are rambunctious) you shouldn't need to in this lifetime. As you can see from the video we still need to finish trimming the doors out. Really happy with the changes. Don't have to account for door opening space anymore when arranging furniture. Really glad I was able to purchase the individual items I needed to do this project. A lot less expensive when you can do it yourself.
